  Wanted

  WANTED is a slick, well acted, and very well made action picture that is almost always entertaining... but it's over-the-top nature (to the point of INSANITY) makes the film lack the heart and soul that many scene try to incorporate. So on a human level, the film just doesn't work.
  
  But the blood-soaked action sequence are the reason most will be at the multiplex in line to see the film anyway, and although they do get repetitive and exhaustive after a while, they are a ton of fun to behold. James McAvoy also makes for a very unique (and suprisingly likeable) action hero.
  
  Mix things up with some very funny dialogue, and WANTED is a film I can easily recommend. But what I'm saying is this; as far as Orgasmic-action romps go... I liked SHOOT 'EM UP more.

  It's a good summer action movie that is sure to entertain. Like most entries in the genre as of late, it's best to leave your brain at the door.

  Get Smart

  GET SMART is the years biggest surprise. The trailers looked "iffy," but the film isn't. It boasts great special effects, perfect lead casting (Steve Carell is great, and Anne Hathaway is smokin'), and most of all it's genuinely funny. Just about every joke works... and that is rarely accomplished outside the realms of Apatow! Strong supporting work aswell from the likes of Alan Arkin, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Terrence Stamp, and the very funny Ken Davitian of BORAT fame.
  
  And keep an eye out for Bill Murray in one of his oddest cameos.

  The Happening

  Better than LADY IN THE WATER and THE VILLAGE, but doesn't touch the likes of THE SIXTH SENSE, UNBREAKABLE, and SIGNS.
  
  THE HAPPENING is indeed a minor work from the very inconsistent Shyamalan, but I found myself enjoying it more than I should have by coming to the conclusion that it was a glorified B-movie. It plays like a 90 minute episode of the Twilight zone, and it has a preachy message to match.
  
  The acting and dialogue were pretty awful throughout, but I felt this aided the B-movie feel nicely. The film also has the most moronic and uneven blend of shock and humor (yes...humor) I`ve seen in any film, but somehow it managed to work here (in context ofcourse). I know moviegoers everwhere are going to hate the film for these very reasons, but I admired the film for it`s goofiness,, it`s b-movie charm, and the fact that you never know exactly where it`s going next.
  
  THE HAPPENING is proof that Mr. ``Shyamalamadingdong`` can make an entertaining picture without a twist ending; without jump-scares; and without pretention. It may not be the film he set out to make... hell it may not be the film that many people will expect to see, but in a time when most films in release are dull and by-the-books, THE HAPPENING is neither.

  Shyamalan goes TWILIGHT ZONE, and the result is an entertaining throwback that will leave most filmgoer`s (with high expectation)perplexed by the lack of twists and the number of laughs!
