2012 2012 PG-13
After the serious disaster of Godzilla (disaster but in the crap movie sense, not as accidently screwed up nature flicks), the so-so The day after tomorrow and the yawnsome 10.000 B.C., Roland Emmerich returns with the new disaster flick 2012. Is his comeback worth watching? YOU'RE BLOODY RIGHT IT IS! John Cusack starsin the second film based on four numbers (his first being 1409)
Saw VI Saw VI R
A near excellent return for the Saw franchise. SAW V didn't let me down at all. Yes it was fairly bloodless compared to the others but it had a driving story and the most horrific climatic scene ever including one of the most loved character meeting his own gruesome and graphic end. SAW VI carries on from when SAW V left off with hoffman escaping the glass box and carrying on Jigsaw's work.....or is he? I won't give anything away but you thought the ending to SAW V was nasty, you ain't seen nothing yet. If you want to see the ending, some bright spark has put it on YOUTUBE so if you want to see it, you'd better be quick. A new and much more horrific game is set in motion and someone's gonna pay. This one mainly focuses on an insurance company who decides who lives and die by giving them cover/money for operations for terminal illnesses. When Jigsaw is rejected for cover for a brand new innovative cancer treatment/operation, the game is set in motion as only Jigsaw gets to decide who lives and who dies and now the company are going to be the victims. I do have to say that the traps is this film are evil. Much more evil than the previous traps were (with the exception of Strahm's deadly trap) Once again Saw VI has a story that will eventually knock you off your seat. This is what I love about the SAW movies, how the story and the revelation at the end knocks you for six and shocks the hell out of you. Since SAW II and SAW IV's ending were a bit of a letdown, SAW, SAW III, SAW V and SAW VI give you an ending that leaves you breathless and something to talk about long after the credits have rolled...and thats another thing i love about the series. The twists at the end of the movies are really well done. I feel more satisfied by the endings of these films than I have ever felt at the end of every other horror movie. Every film is the missing piece to the other SAW movies, they all connect and fit together just like a JIGSAW puzzle and the more pieces are revealed, the more of the puzzle is revealed as well. Then another piece comes to light and you wonder how it fit into the story until the next film reveals what it is. The SAW movies are an excellent series of chilling thrillers that have you on the edge of your seat and keep you intrigued and engaged right up to the final few seconds. Bring on SAW VII

Dawn of the Dead Dawn of the Dead R
Yes this is the only greatest Zombie Horror out there on the DVD shelves nowadays. Dawn of the dead has not aged and still is as fresh as ever. Yes the picture looks grainy but that as to the realism of it. Well that is till you see the red paint blood but after repeated viewings you get used to it. Nothing has bettered this since, no even come anywhere close to the power and engagement that Dawn of the dead has. The remake to this was good but no where near the magnitude that the original Dawn has. George A. Romero crafts a masterpiece in gruesome horror with this sequel to his smash hit movie Night of the Living Dead. This time the dead are growing in large numbers and mankind is being slowly being wiped out. There are some nods to Night in this with the rednecks and the army gunning down every undead they come across only to lose later on in Day. George gets the most out of his actors. Ken Foree is great as the hero of the film. He is the embodiment of Ben's Character from night. The three Dead movies prove that George is an equalist allowing the ethnic characters to be the heroes in caucasian society. But also he is an equalist to the zombies too. These are his children and yes they get treated bad but they get their vengenance in the most graphic way. That's what I love bout Romero is that he gives the zombies character too. The dead are never portrayed as just gut munchers but beings with purpose.
Dead and Buried Dead and Buried R
Dead and buried is dug up for an uncut release. Finally Dead and Buried is given the respect it deserves on DVD. Remastered and uncut the way it should be. I only just saw D&B just yesterday and i must say i was blown away by it. It terrfied me. I have never seen a film that could scare me as much as this one did. The story leads from violence to dread and ultimately the revelation shock ending that scares you right to the bone. The characters are great and the stars do a great job to bring the story before your eyes. Jack Alberton (Charlie's grandpa in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) is great as the creepy mortitian Dobbs, James Farentino as Sheriff Dan Gillis makes a great portrayal of a man determined to find out the truth but when he does he wishes he hadn't as the end reveals he is more part of the conspiracy than he wants to be. Melody Anderson (Princess Dale in the 1980's movie Flash Gordon) as Janet the wife of Gillis who hides a terrifying secret. There are some great cameos from stars today too. Robert Englund a.k.a. Freddy Krueger pops up as Harry the salvage merchant and Tim Burton ex-squeeze Lisa Marie makes a brief appearance as a young teenage hitch-hiker who gets her head smashed in then lovingly recreated by Dobbs. Dead and buried is a flim that will stick with you way after the movie has finished. A vintage horror that i will be taking with me to my own grave. If this movie doesn't scare you, then you're already DEAD & BURIED!!!!!
