Another great advancement for disaster movies. Special effects have really gotten quite amazing at portraying some ridiculous events. 2012 is downright hilarious at times because of how nonsensical the scenes can get. I read a review somewhere that the entire movie is a long sequence of crashes and I feel like I must agree. Between the completely ridiculous science (neutrinos magically having an effect on matter...) and the cliche diving plane taking off (happens like three times), 2012 is quite the escapade. Also, what's up with everything in the film happening at the last second. Couldn't any of these people arrive early or on time rather than at exactly the last possible second?
This movie is full of epic scenery and epic lulz. The soundtrack really isn't all that noticeable because stuff is too busy falling down or exploding. Special effects are absolutely amazing and they really are the only good thing in the whole movie.
The Soloist
PG-13
Another motivational, moving story about someone helping someone who lost their way and learning a little about themselves along the way. The movie tells the story of Nananiel Ayers (Jamie Foxx), a former Julliard student who finds himself struggling with a mental disorder and living homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.), a Los Angeles Times reporter, discovers the musician and decides to write about him, bringing attention to the plight of the homeless of the city and Ayers. Another good movie to watch.

one of the greatest plots of all time in a movie/book. the idea behind it really isn't that untrue now is it? "You are not your job. You are not how much you have in the bank. You are not the...(read more...) contents of your wallet. You are not your khakis. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake."
The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King
PG-13
the best of all three movies and that's saying a lot. peter jackson truly has created a masterpiece. he turned one of the greatest fantasy books into the first fantasy movie to win an oscar. despite the multiple false endings, the movie never feels like it is drawn out to its full 3.5hrs length (4hrs for extended edition). the acting on part of elijah wood as frodo and vigo mortensen as aragon is simply incredible. gandalf and others are awesome support to the main characters and the special effects warrented all the awards they won. simply one of the best movies ive ever seen and probably one of the greats of all time. just wow.
