Read Profiles Prior To Messaging

I just stop by Flixster to rate movies, and check out the movies that have been recommended to me. I don’t really come here for socializing. I have been pretty busy on IMVU, where I do go to be social, although truthfully, haven’t been feeling very social lately. I have been working primarily on developing on IMVU, which is kind of fun, and it feels good to be doing something constructive.

If your message to me here, is not related to movies, I’ll probably just ignore it. So don’t bother. If you ask me to invite you as a friend, and you don’t seem interested in movies, or if all your favorites, are crappy or mainstream, I’ll probably just ignore your request. I can find the mainstream stuff on my own. But I like to have people in my list who recommend stuff that I would like to see, but stuff that I might not find on my own. Its ok to like some crappy movies, we all have guilty pleasures. Lately, I’ve been watching more of the lighter stuff.

I have a boyfriend, so don't bother asking for anything along that lines.

I try to keep track of how many of my ratings that I have actually seen. Right now I have seen 1,844 movies listed on Flixster, unless there are ones I have not found. And there are about 3,000 + movies on the database that I have not yet found. Working on it.

I keep a list of movies that have been recommended to me by my flixster friends, but the list was getting hard to load, so it is now movies that I haven’t seen, but movies that I think I might see. I have netflix, so when I finish Charmed (season and a half to go) and Smallville (finished with season 3) then I will probably getting two movies at a time instead of one. I have trouble making decisions, and watching the TV series on dvd makes that easier. You should see me in Blockbuster, I was getting so stressed out trying to pick out a movie, my hands were starting to swell. But keep sending the recommendations, even if I have it listed as not interested, if I add it to my flixster friends recommendations, then I haven’t committed to not seeing it. I do appreciate the recommendations.

My mind has been kind of off, so my reviews are kind of non-existent.

I saw this film a week ago, and I can't stop thinking about it. I can't quite put my finger on why. It is more character driven than plot driven. Great performance by Gosling.

    Thank God, as I'd heard, this film was MUCH better than the pathetic waste of space that was the 2006 remake.

    It's not hard to enjoy this film, despite the fact that it was made 34 years ago. Yes, you have to do your best to put yourself in the shoes of a 1974 moviegoer, but it's not too hard.

    It was actually creepy, and funny in parts too (intentionally). Also, I laughed at some of the fashion/style of dress (what's up with the white people 'fros?)

    Much better and I wish I had seen this one first.
    Wrong time of the year maybe, but finally got around to seeing this. Worth a rent for sure.

    Don't shit your breeches, it's the 1974 version.

    OK, this has been done before, several times...and the whole, "I see Asian dead people" isn't scary or even creepy, but...

    It was still better than I thought it was going to be, and it was nice to see Joshua Jackson in a halfways mainstream film for once. I do think he's a good actor who needs a new agent.

    There was a "twist" in the middle which I figured out almost right away and a twist at the end which made it cool and enough to make it worth watching the DVD.

    I will say that studios either need to abandon the whole genre tho entirely, or do something to liven it up a bit. Maybe a J horror-inspired ORIGINAL non-remake film that's not totally based on dead people haunting the living...
    Good for fans of Joshua Jackson, or if you a fan of the genre. Otherwise, nothing too special.

    Amazingly funny in a perfectly witty way that says a big FUCK YOU to political correctness and just has a good time with itself.

    Also very shocking at times, and expertly acted by Farrell and Gleeson in a way that pulled us in to their characters so well.

    YOU must see this!

    OK, I know I had originally decided I didn;t want to see this film but I changed my mind.

    And it's pretty decent for what it is. Yes, there are definitely a lot of "funny parts" that just aren't funny (like what was the deal with Bill Murray in the tree?), but I did laugh enough to be mostly satisfied.

    I still see Hathaway as a one-trick pony who gets parts for her looks and by playing characters with personalities so close to what I imagine is her own.

    Most of you will wait for the DVD. No need to rush out.
    Funny enough, but nothing amazing. Wait for the DVD.

    william h macy will never top his roles in the likes of fargo boogie nights and magnolia but hes found a place in tv movies, door to door,,a slight case of murder,, panic,, and focus being notable aceptions, and heres another, in which he co wrote as a mute, who comes into contact with a homeless girl, and takes her in, trying his best to get a secure home, as always macy is a acting talent, no words but ful of emotion, a story that never rises above tv movie status, but a enjoyable piece

    Pretty watchable movie.
    And quite easy to review also.

    Wanna bet?

    - Sudden zombie boom;
    - film students catching zombies on camera;
    - zombies roaming around all over the place;
    - film students running away from zombies while catching them on camera;
    - normal people turning into zombies;
    - film students witnessing normal people turn into zombies while catching them on camera;
    - ...

    ... And so on and so forth.

    It's not a great film, as you may suspect already, but it isn't all that bad either.
    The amateur camera work adds a nice touch to it. Makes it feel a little different from other zombie movies and a bit more realistic.
    As far as realism can go in this genre, that is.
    But, yeah, the directing style helped the rating a great deal. And considering that I only gave it 3 stars... You can imagine how it isn't such a must-see movie.
    Watch it only if you have a tendency for enjoying movies with an amateur filming style.

    If you don't, then there's a pretty good chance you'll hate it.

    And if, on top of that, you don't usually tend to care for regular zombie movies all that much either... Then there's a pretty good chance you'll end up slitting your wrists halfway through it.

    Plot: Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.
    Flixster - Share Movies
    Verdict
    In reality, the film has brought in $158.3 million, creating an even bigger gap between itself and "Spider-Man 3," which was the previous record-holder at $151.1 million back in May 2007.
    My freaking god. The Summer movie of the year and of the decade. And the figures talkes for themself. 158 million for a movie is unbelievable.If the dead of Heath Ledger contribute to this success, i say YES. His performance is Oscar worthy. I will start my review.
    -----------
    Directing
    Christopher Nolan collaboration with Wally Pfister is so freaking good. The shots of the buildings, The batman flying of the buildings and how the camera moves. They both deserve a prize for best directing and best director of photography. I'm speechless!!! Christopher Nolan is my favorite director right now!!!
    Acting
    All credits of acting goes to Heath Ledger. His potrayal of the joker is so dark, psychopatic and funny. His mimic, his way of walking is freaking scary. i got goosebumps. Aaron Eckhart as Harvery Dent is so convincing and flawless, but when he becomes two face it will blow you away. Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes is way much better than the stupid Katie Holmes. Also a strong performance. Christian Bale is an excellent Batman. Strong and also vulnerable. Great supporting roles by Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.
    Sound score
    If you see this movie in the IMAX. The sound is so clear and loud. The sound effects are so earblowing. i'm still deaf.
    Oscars
    It is got my nomination:
    Best Movie
    Best Directing - Christoper Nolan
    Best Actor in a leading role - Heath Ledger
    Best Actor in a supporing role - Aaron Eckhart
    Best Adapted Screenplay - Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan
    Best director of photography - Wally Pfister
    Best art direction and set decoration
    Best sound and music score

    Pretty interesting to follow the life story of an emerging sociopath such as Myers.
    This is exactly what captivated me the most in this film: the chance to follow the evolution of one of the most mind-blowing psychopathologies in the history of mankind. (Well, at least in my book it is a very mind-blowing one.) Here we get the chance to take a peek at its implications while it is still in a sort of incubation stage. While the child is still discovering his abnormal anti-social tendencies as well as his compelling urge to slice open every breathing being.
    And although I wouldn't have minded witnessing the whole thing right from the very start (right since the moment that little psycho brat was born), Myers' already a young man when the movie begins. Pitty! But the way this story is portrayed, I guess watching him in his earlier years wouldn't be much of a help when it comes to shed some light on his condition.
    And it is in fact the whole story behind the main character that makes this movie worthwhile. Not the chills (which are very few), not the bloody scenes, not the suspense,... Nothing like that. It's really not all that scary to watch. But it is rather unsettling, though. At least until Myers grows up, that is. Then it's just like all the other horror movies portraying serial killers. Nothing new in that department.
    Still, the first half makes up perfectly for the 'been there, done that' rest of the film.
    Can you imagine what would be like to have a child like that?

    Well, take a look and decide for yourself.

    I say it would be a bitch to find enough room for all the pets in the backyard.
    And I don't mean above the ground.

    Some of you might hate me for this review, but at least read it before you string me from the rafters.

    The Dark Knight delivers more than even Iron Man or The Crystal Skull could. And it makes the Incredible Hulk look like a joke. It's easily the best Batman of the franchise,

    Bale makes Keaton look frumpy and Clooney Clooney look like a bad joke.

    Heath Ledger's performance WAS amazing. I was amazed at how he took all of himself out of the character of the Joker and just WAS the joker.

    The supporting characters also were expertly cast and did great job.

    The one thing I'm not compelled to do is what I considered a lot of people's over-exaggeration/ I'm not speechless, it didn't make me cry, iy's not the best movie of all time (all of which I read in different reviews_. This, s I said, is just a slight overstatement in my opinion that makes me uncomfortable.

    However, I will say that The Dark Knight delivers amazingly as the best "summer film" of this year. It's pacing is near perfect and it is totally deviod of cheesy one-liners and moments that made me cringe.

    For all this, it gets five starts from mw. Because it delivers.

    But it's not a masterpiece.

    3 english girls meet 4 english lads in spain and are taken for a great time on a yaught, but things turn for the worse when one of the girls is killed during a sex act, by one of the guys, a so called donkey punch, now with the girls stuck there with the guys what could go down is any bodys business, will sides be taken, a nice little thriller, putting abunch of people on a boat and watch the results when a little murder is thrown in the mix, sides are imediatly drawn, due to the friendships, and fear strikes in, as to what is the best thing to do, with the body and aftermath, things get very paranoid to say the least, a good set up here, all charactors are well covered, the girls showing range in sexuality and eventual distress, while the lads showing a edge but simpathy, all great performances as well, and considering the location, the story and circumstances come off well, some nice deaths also,
