Blind Terror (See No Evil)
Unrated
The best Hitchcock movie never made by Hitchcock. It is also I think the best movie Mia Farrow ever made. She gives an outstanding and believable performance as a blind girl. While she is out visiting with her boyfriend her family back home is murdered. When she comes home she thinks her relatives are out of the house. In fact they are dead all around the house. It is not until the next day she makes the grizzly discovery of her family being killed. At the same time the murderer realizes he has left behind an important piece of evidence at the house that will connect him to the crimes. Now he has to go back to the scene of the crime to retrieve the evidence and Mia Farrow has to run for her life to prevent becoming the killer's next victim. As the movie progresses the suspense slowing increases. The movie does start a little slow but once you get into the story it does indeed pick up the pace.

To Kill A Mockingbird

My all time favorite movie. A true classic. Great cast lead by Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch who won the oscar for best actor. I have lost count how mant times I have seen this movie but it is for sure the one movie I have seen the most. I was about 10 maybe when I first saw it. As a kid I was fasinated by thr three kids in the movie (Jem,Scout and Dill) who in turn was always fascinated in trying to get a look at Boo Radley, the towns notorious crazy man. As I grew older and became more aware of the civil rights movement and racial prejudice the part of the movie involving Tom Robinson, a black man accused of beating and raping a white girl, became of main interest to me. Atticus does a wonderful job of showing Tom could not have committed what he is accused of. He does this all the while knowing that the jury will find his client guilty because of the color of his clients skin. My favorite scene in the movie is when Gregory Peck gives the closing argument to the jury. A great speech which I feel shows Gregory Peck at his absolute best as an actor. There are many other outstanding scenes in the movie. Too many to mention. You just got to take the time to watch this if the chance ever arrives. It is a movie with no car chases or gun play or bloody fights or big budget special effects. To Kill A Mockingbird just relies on human emotion and the power of the spoken word. Give it a chance however and I think you will get caught up in this movie.
In the Heat of the Night

A great movie that won Oscar for best picture of 1967. Two outstanding performances by Sidney Poitier as Virgil Tibbs and Rod Steiger as Chief Gillespie. What makes this an outstanding movie is the two plots going on at once that constantly intertwine. First you have a good murder mystery going on of the towns richest man. Combine that with the racial issues between Tibbs and Gillespie and you quickly get caught up in the story. Norman Jewison does a brilliant job of direction. Throw in the music of Quincy Jones to help enhance the mood and you will find yourself involved in the Heat Of The Night.
