Match Point
One of Woody Allen's best. He manages to craft a compelling and intriguing crime-drama, while at the same time injecting some of that old-fashioned Woody Allen humor and insight we've all grown to love. It's the epitome of sexy cinema. One of the best films of 2005.

In the Realm of the Senses (1976,  NC-17)
In the Realm of the Senses
As lewd an disgusting as American viewers may find this masterpiece's shocking and blunt sexuality. each scene of passion builds and changes along with the characters' psychological states of love, serving a beautiful and artistic purpose like no other film has ever displayed.
20
Dancer in the Dark (2000,  R)
21
Once (2007,  R)
Once
Once is a profoundly touching and refreshing modern musical-drama that excels far beyond what its genre has achieved in more recent years. The film is at once an intimate drama that explores a very different form of what we perceive as "passion" between two people, and at other times a sweeping, emotional musical that captivates because of the pieces of the human soul that are captured within the music & lyrics as well as the dedicated performances by the actors. Once is truly a musical masterpiece and sings its way to the top of my Best of 2007 list.

Fa Yeung Nin Wa (In the Mood for Love) (2001,  PG)
Fa Yeung Nin Wa (In the Mood for Love)
Master director Wong Kar-Wai creates a very visual and legitimate, powerful film about emotional vulnerablity and human loneliness set in 1960's Hong Kong. The film tells the story of two neighbors whose spouses are cheating on them and the relationship the two form over their similar dilemmas. Kar-Wai is very skillful at capturing the perfect atmosphere for his emotionally-charged dramas to unfold, and In the Mood for Love is no exception. The visuals and audio serve as icing on the cake in this truly moving work of art.
