Alright! You, sir? How about a shave? Come and visit your good friend Sweeney! You sir! Too, sir. Welcome to the grave... I will have vengeance. I will have salvation... Who, sir? You sir!No one's in the chair. Come on, come on! Sweeney's waiting. I want you bleeders. You sir? Anybody? Gentlemen, now don't be shy. Not one man... No, nor ten men... Nor a hundred can assuage me. I will have you! And I will get him back even as he gloats; In the meantime I'll practice on less honorable throats... And my Lucy lies in ashes, and I'll never see my girl again. But the work waits! I'm alive at last, and I'm full of joy!

My review:
After hard years in exile for a crime he didn't commit, Benjamin Barker now Sweeney Todd, returns to London to find his wife dead and his daughter in the hands of the evil Judge Turpin. In his anger, Sweeney goes on a murderous rampage on all London, with the help of Mrs. Lovett, he opens a barber shop in which he lures his victims in with a charming smile before casually ending their life with a flick of his razor across their neck. But not one man killed, nor ten thousands men can satisfy Sweeney's lust for revenge on those who've caused his years of pain.
This film is an absolute masterpiece. It has everything that I look for in a film. It made me feel absolutely fantsatic. Has to be one of the best feelings I have ever had. It is a film that isn't just gruesome and emotional but it is a real kick-ass style that not very many Tim Burton films have. It is very emotional because of how Barker was sent away and what happened to his wife and daughter. Also, it iswhy he has changed his name and why he is obsessed with killing Turpin for revenge. But, what really annoys me is that some people don't really take into consideration of WHY Todd is doing what he is doing. They just think about the throat slitting scenes and how graphic it is. I find it a real kick-ass film too because all of the characters are so powerful. The awesome dark colours used and mostly the lines in the film were quite catchy too. Sometimes, I sing to the songs of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street because I love doing it and I love the film to bits. Yes, I admit I am a terrible singer but can't resist to sing the songs because they are all so good.
Johnny Depp delivers in my opinion his greatest on-screen performance he has ever done because it was a very powerful character. It was the first time that Johnny has portrayed a villain but after watching this film, I realised how good he can be as a villain as well as a hero. I loved his character. He almost made Sweeney Todd his very own character in which not many actors manage to do with their characters. Johnny's singing was absolutely superb for his first time at it. My favourite songs are: No Place Like London, My Friends, Pretty Woman, Epiphany, A Little Priest and Johanna (reprise). I have to say that i think this is the best Helena Bonham Carter's best performance as well because Helena was the exact perfect choice for Mrs. Lovett. Mrs. Lovett is a serious character but is a very mysterious, odd, random and unusual woman to come across which is literally what fits perfectly for Helena because she has portrayed odd and bizzare characters in the past. Helena's singing was absolutely brilliant too. I was really fascinated that she wanted to be Mrs. Lovett since she was 11 years old she stated in an interview. Alan Rickman was awesome too because Alan has always had that slithery, slimey personality in all of the characters he has portrayed. n this one, he is like a pedophile, rapist and kidnapper. He is a cold character and he should set an example to the world by being a judge of a court. I liked everyone else in this film including Timothy Spall (hes a terrible singer though), Sacha Boran Cohen, Ed Sanders, Jayne Wisener and Laura Michelle Kelly. But I didn't like Jamie Campbell Bower in this film at all because he is a terrible actor but a really good singer though.
I was very deeply fascinated by Tim Burton's direction. I was fascinated by Tim's communication with Steven Sondheim who wrote the lyrics for the songs of the play which were used in the film. I think that this is Tim's best filmed motion picture because he makes his darkest creation yet and has been creating new designs and different camera angles from high views and zooming in and out views too which is very new of Tim. I loved the written screenplay but it wasn't adapted. It was the same writing from the play.
This is very different obviously compared to other musicals because it is a dark, bloody and depressing musical. The songs are all very dark. There have been a lot of bright, warm-hearting musicals in the past but this film showed that there can be dark musicals from now on but has to be well made and well written. Also, needs either decent director and/or actor within it. It is Tim's darkest film so far. Comparing to other Tim Burton films, this film is mostly similar to Sleepy Hollow because they are both very dark stories, dark sceneries, make-up and art direction. Also because it is quite bloody. The blood in Sweeney Todd was very similar to the blood in Sleepy Hollow but was more realistic in Sweeney Todd.
The chemistry between Sweeney Todd/Benjamin Barker and Mrs. Lovett is in my opinion a very mysterious relationship because it is very puzzling WHY Mrs. Lovett is assisting Todd in his path of revenge. I think that she slowly started to fall in love with him. But Todd doesn't want that. He just uses her even though she probably does realise it. Todd's relationship with Turpin is complete hate but even though Turpin doesn't know Todd is Benjamin Barker it is still a very tense and quite argumentative relationship. But Todd has a secret and fake identity which can draw him closer to Turpin.
A twist occured which left me in great shock. One of my favourite film twists of all time.
This film was very violent obviously because of the throat-slitting. It was always nerving how fast or how hard he was going to slit a throat and also WHEN he is going to do it.
The cinematography was awesome because it is very new because it was quite a bit like a Frank Miller film. The Oscar winning settings were phenomenal. It was the dark setting aswell as other varios things that made Sweeney Todd a masterpiece. The sound mixing was awesome. I wish that it had a nomination for the Best Sound Mixing Oscar award. The make-up was very good which was really awesome. It was quite similar to the make-up in Ed Wood. It could have been better but was still really good though. THe music score was very soft mostly but there were some moments in the scenes where there was a lot of hard music which sounded a bit like piano music. That should have recieved an Oscar nomination too.
This film earned 1 Academy Award win out of three nominations. It won Best Art Direction but was nominated for Best Costume Design but lost to Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Best Leading Actor (Johnny Depp) but lost to Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood. It won two Golden Globes out of 4 nomination. It won Best Picture (Musical/Comedy) for Johnny Depp but was nomiated for Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) for Helena Bonham Carter but lost to Marion Cotillard in La Vie En Rose and Best Director for Tim Burton but lost to Julian Schnabel in The Diving Bell And The Butterfly.
This film is my favourite Johnny Depp film, my favourite Helena Bonham Carter film, my favourite film about revenge, my favourite film of 2007, my favourite musical, my favourite Tim Burton film. It will probably always be my favourite Tim Burton film. But most importantly, it is my favourite film of all time!

My review:
Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny, eludes him.
Forrest Gump is without a doubt the most inspiring film that I have ever seen. It almost broke my heart because of what happens within it. It is a film that I think everybody loves in either the funny way, dramatic way or romantic way but I love it all three ways. I find it to be a story of hope, courage and pure adventure because Forrest sees life in all sorts of different ways because of the events that occur in his life. This is an inpriation to me aswell bercause of the different sorts of characters and how they combine together in their own little ways. I find it to be a very thought provoking film because of the measures each other character takes. It makes me feel good because all of the characters within the film are just adorable and loving. I really love adventurous stories and Forrests life was an awesome experiencing life that was very eventful. Now that is the life. I do think that Forrests life is something that everybody would probably wish for because of the beautiful moments in his life and yet some of very light downs in his life at the same time. I do have to say that this film can almost be a film for the entire family but without the war violence and the extremely emotional story but it would be a good family film because of the loving Forrest Gump character and his adventures in his life until he meets the ultimate gift later on which literally made me cry and made me feel great because that is a moment of how I would feel. Forrest Gump is one of my Five Perfect Films.
Tom Hanks delivers in my personal opinion the best leading male performance of all time because I could see everything that Tom was meant to be in this film. This film along with The Green Mile, Tom Hanks is the most inspiring actor that has ever lived and is my favourite actor. Tom isnt only playing Forrest Gump but he IS Forrest Gump and its as simple as that. Tom showed that Forrest has a really big heart and a real open mind but is quite stubborn in his own way. Toms performance is really awesome too because Tom isnt like Forrest Gump at all in real life. He made Forrest like a real life person which is what not many talented actors actually accomplish in their careers. Tom made me feel great because he is really good at being able to cry in a film and because of that he made me cry because of his inspiring ways of portraying the character. Tom is really good at playing that romantic type too. After seeing him in Sleepless In Seattle, he is a really good romantic actor. I havent seen that yet but will see it very soon. Anyway, Tom has shown more emotion than he has ever done in any film he has ever been in before. That is one of the main reasons why I find Toms performance so great. He makes Forrest Gump a character that I would have liked to meet because he seems like a really sweet and warmhearted man. Robin Wright-Penns performance is really good as Jenny Curran. She is a really gorgeous woman but has a bad troubled childhood and also because of her complete drug addiction and prostitution. Because of this, it affects her life deeply but Forrest is there to help her when she comes to him. I could feel the love between Jenny and Forrest but also I could see what Jenny has over Forrest like the smarter mind. Gary Sinises performance is really good because he is an arrogant Lieutenant in the Army who loses his legs after being shot in the legs by Vietnamese soldiers. I do find Lieutenant Dan a really funny character aswell as a really emotional character because of the typical bitter and strict character involved. He brings a comedy side to the film when he is scenes with Forrest. Gary Sinise is really good at playing that sort of character with a bitter attitude as he did as George in Of Mice And Men remake. He deserved Oscar nomination aswell as Tom Hanks deserved his win very much. Mykelti Williamson brings comedy with Forrest is this film which is really great again. The comedy never stops and neither does the drama nor romance between any of the characters involved in the film. Mykelti was a typical Alabama man with a passion for shrimping. Sally Field is really supporting in this masterpiece as Mrs. Gump who is the mother of Forrest Gump. It is quite ironic with Sally Field and Tom Hanks because Field is only 10 years older than Hanks and she portrays his mother. He is like old enough in real life to be her younger brother. That was quite bizarre but was an outstanding connection between the two. She should have had an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She deserves the credit for the female acting in this film more than Robin Wright-Penn even though she was still really good. The Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment makes a mild appearance in this film too.
Robert Zemeckis direction was absolutely superb. He didn?t just make a film that can tell the future of ones life but also one that can be seen and loved in different ways. It was a cool film aswell as an inspiring film. This is Zemeckis best work and always will be. The script was really awesome. I havent read the novel but it must be as good as the film surely. It is written in a different mixture of genres.
This film is very similar to films like Rain Man, I Am Sam and Whats Eating Gilbert Grape? because of the character within it with a disability but all are different at the same time because they all have different problems in different situations in different places. But they all do have a meaning to what life can be like in different aspects.
The chemistry between Forrest and Jenny is in Forrests mind love at first sight because he fell for her at the first moment he saw her. In Jennys mind, it was really like friendship to begin with but when she needed Forrest in her desperate times because of her drug addiction and prostitution, she slowly started to fall in love with him. They are still best friends aswell though. Forrest and Dans relationship was unknown at first because they didnt know each other very well but when something happens to Dan, they become almost like best friends and talk to each other about each others problems and help each other. I find it to be the best partnership within the film. Forrest and Bubba almost became best friends since they first met because they were with each other all the time in the Army. Dan sort of takes that place after Bubba dies in the Army.
The art direction was really good in this film with a very casual scenery with a typical American style to it. The cinematography is a lot like that aswell with very cleverly used photography. The make-up is good on this film particularly in the war scenes. The music score was very soft with a lot of emotional music but with quite an upbeat tone to it. The sound effects were outstanding in the war scenes but also in the impactful and twisting scenes that occur in the film. Most of all the qualities, the visual effects are the best. They are mostly best on Lieutenant Dans missing legs even though Gary Sinise has legs in real life. Those visual effects with the missing legs look so realistic, it is untrue.
This film won 6 Academy Awards: Best Leading Actor (Tom Hanks), Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects and most importantly Best Picture 1994 by beating two films that are more famous than Forrest Gump. Those two films were Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. It was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Gary Sinise) but lost to Martin Landau in Ed Wood, Best Cinematography but lost to Legends Of The Fall, Best Art Direction but lost to The Madness Of King George, Best Sound Mixing but lost to Speed, Best Sound Editing but lost to Speed, Best Make-Up but lost to Ed Wood and Best Music Score but lost to The Lion King. This won 3 Golden Globes including Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), Best Actor Drama (Tom Hanks) and Best Picture Drama. It was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (Gary Sinise) but lost to Martin Landau in Ed Wood, Best Supporting Actress (Robin Wright-Penn) but lost to Dianne Wiest in Bullets Over Broadway, Best Screenplay but lost to Pulp Fiction and Best Music Score but lost to The Lion King.
This is Robert Zemeckis finest work to date. I think it will always be my favourite film from him. It is my favourite film from the 1990s and favourite film of 1994 after that was a great year for film. It is Tom Hanks best film and it always will be. I love him in The Green Mile and Saving Private Ryan too. It is my favourite drama film, my favourite inspiring film and most importantly, its in my top 5 films of all time and one of My Five Perfect Films.

Come here. Hey! Look at me. So I had a wife, beautiful, like you, who tells me I worry too much. Who tells me I ought to smile more. Who gambles and gets in deep with the sharks... look at me! One day, they carve her face. And we have no money for surgeries. She can't take it. I just want to see her smile again, hmm? I just want her to know that I don't care about the scars. So . . . I stick a razor in my mouth and do this . . . to myself. And you know what? She can't stand the sight of me! She leaves. Now I see the funny side. Now I'm always smiling!

My review:
Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent are forced to deal with the chaos unleashed by an anarchist mastermind known only as the Joker, as it drives each of them to their limits.
The Dark Knight is an absolutely phenomenal film. It is a film that I am sure that everybody loves or likes. Everyone I have spoken to so far have said its awesome. It is a masterpiece of comic book films. It is stated to be The Godfather: Part II of comic book adaptations and I agree with that 100%. The Dark Knight is an exciting action packed thrill ride that every single scene in the whole film is just amazing. I knew that this film was going to be one of my favourite films ever because I was deeply fascinated by everything about it like watching videos like trailers, interviews etc. I also looked on how they filmed it. Not many films have ever brought that to my attention before. I can only think of The Dark Knight, Sweeney Todd, The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King and Forrest Gump. To me, those three films are the perfect films. I loved the characters within The Dark Knight and how well it was filmed. There will never be any better Batman film and maybe not even better comic book film neither. It is the intense action that kept me glued to this film from start to finish. It was action that looked so realistic and made me feel really great because that sort of action has never really been seen properly in a Batman film before. It did in Batman Begins but not as much intense action as The Dark Knight. This film was slightly like a remake of Tim Burtons Batman (1989) not only because of Batman vs. the Joker but because it involves Harvey Dent again and also because of the similar technology used but The Dark Knight is better and better adapted together.
The acting was awesome from the whole cast. Christian Bale delivers a better performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman because Christian made a slightly newer Batman because it is more of a darker one because of how he saves people and gets rid of the criminals. Christian is a really good example for Batman in this film because he is still a young Batman whereas Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney have been slightly older Batmans. Christian is still the best Batman actor so far because as I have said that he makes Bruce a really personal and troubled character more than the other three actors have in the previous films. The performance from the late Heath Ledger was absolutely phenomenal because Ledger makes the Joker his very own character and makes Jacks Joker worth a Razzie nomination than an Oscar one. But Ledgers Joker is a completely different Joker. Jacks is more comical and is more suitable for Tim Burton and comic book adaptations. But Heaths is more of a serious Joker because Heaths Joker is a very mysterious character that nobody knows why he is the way he is. Heath makes the Joker a twisted character that is ruthless and doesnt care who or what he kills. Jacks Joker was to kill people for like revenge because of what happened to him but Heaths is like he does it for pleasure which is why I find both Heaths performance and Heaths Joker character better. It is quite bizarre at the start because Heath was only 27 or 28 years old during filming of The Dark Knight and he was underestimated at first because he was so young and he had never portrayed a villain before in his young career neither. He is the youngest actor to have portrayed the Joker after Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson. Heaths make-up, costume and voice is very different compared to the previous Jokers. At first, I thought how can Heath produce a voice with a soft yet psychotic voice when he has a very very deep booming voice himself. But I underestimated myself and proved myself wrong. I was fascinated by Heaths ambition for the Joker because he wanted to make the Joker a powerful character in which he did. It was a damn shame that he passed away before this film was released because I know how proud he would have been of himself as the Joker. His death was because of an accidental drug overdose. I think it was sleeping pills because he couldnt sleep because the Joker was a dark character. It sort of seemed like the Joker killed Heath Ledger. I dont mean that in a nasty way but it just seems like that because of the drugs he was using. Heaths performance is definitely on the list for greatest film villains of all time and most importantly he will probably be a nominee and will probably win an Academy Award for his portrayal of the Joker. I really hope he does win the Oscar because he deserves it! I have to call Heath Ledgers Joker my all-time favourite movie character not because of Heath Ledgers passing but because I just thought the character was so powerful and new from the original Jokers. The Joker is one of the reasons why I think that villain characters are more powerful than hero characters. I basically loved everything about it: voice, appearance, personality and what he does because it is such a powerful character than is a fearful character that not many actors can do with characters. Others are Hannibal Lecter in The Silence Of The Lambs, Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men, Norman Bates in Psycho and Darth Vader in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker is in my opinion the best performance by a supporting actor. Also, Heath Ledger is one of my all-time favourite actors not because he died and have to feel sympathy for him but because he was an extremely rare talent who can portray all sorts of different types of characters. I didnt just like his performance in this film but I loved his performance as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain too. Heath will earn Oscar and Golden Globe in this film as the Joker I can guarantee. I think it is because of Heath Ledger, this film is so successful and is more sucessful than it probably would have been if Heath Ledger was still alive. Because of this film, I do find it overrated but a damn good reason though. This is Heaths film and he deserves pretty much all the credit for the acting. This is one of his films that we were all waiting a very long time for. R.I.P. Heath Ledger. Who can hate Michael Caine? He is really good again as Alfred with a great supporting performance. I liked Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman in this film as Gordon and Lucius Fox. Aaron Eckharts performance as District Attorney Harvey Dent is absolutely brilliant. His performance is second best after Heath Ledger obviously. He made Harvey a true hero who then becomes tortured and becomes Two-Face after something happens. His performance is probably far better than Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever. Maggie Gyllenhaal was a better choice for Rachel Dawes than Katie Holmes because it felt like Maggie really tried as Rachel but like Katie didnt try at all.
The direction was absolutely superb from the great Christopher Nolan. He brings together a film that has become very different compared to the other Batman films but has made a big difference in comic book adaptations. His camera angles were outstanding in this film. My favourite direction scene from Nolan is when Joker crashes the party and he walks towards Rachel and walks around her. It is like the camera is following the Joker around but then spins around in circles. When the Joker is telling Rachel the story of how he got the scars on his face, the camera goes round in circles but unexpectedly stops at a great moment. It is like Nolan wants us to feel the chemistry and tension between all of the characters. The script was really awesome. It was cleverly adapted and was very new for a Batman film and was very creative.
This film was different compared to every other Batman film because it reveals Batmans true colours and what his main purpose is and also how he might be only used in Gotham to get rid of crime within the city. It followed at the exact end of Batman Begins but I have to say that I dont think the Scarecrow reappearance was that revelant because we all knew that it was going to be the Joker in this one so werent expecting the Scarecrow in it again. It is darker than Batman Begins which is why I liked The Dark Knight.
The chemistry between Batman and the Joker was absolutely fantastic in this film which is why I have to say that Christian Bale and Heath Ledgers partnership in this film is one of my favourite partnerships of all time. It is quite strange really because both Bale and Ledger are young hunky men and it is a very powerful and quality ensemble of acting when they are in scenes together which makes it very different compared to Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton. I liked Harvey Dents relationship with Rachel because I found that they were partners with a good combination but I have to say I couldnt really feel the love between them as I didnt between Rachel and Bruce neither. I liked the chemistry between the Joker and Harvey Dent too because they form a rivalry really cleverly even though they dont appear in many scenes together. Especially when Harvey becomes Two-Face.
This film was quite violent because of the Jokers threatening attitudes with his knife and how he kills his victims. It is all realistic violence. It was mostly blood violence that was involved in this masterpiece.
The sound effects were absolutely brilliant. It was very loud in the cinema and was exactly accurate as far as getting the sound at the correct moments is concerned. The costumes were really good. It seemed like Batman had a new suit in this one because the suit aswell as the Batman voice seemed very different compared to Batman Begins. The best costume is obviously the Jokers. The make-up is absolutely outstanding too. The Jokers make-up is superb aswell as Batmans but the best is the make-up on Two-Face because it looked like a real face that is half missing so to speak. It is partly computer aswell but it is make up too because of the colorful injuries that Harvey had.
The Academy Awards havent come yet but I think that it will be nominated for either Best Leading Actor or Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger as the Joker, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Adapted Screenplay for Jonathan and Christopher Nolan, Best Sound Mixing and Editing, Best Make-Up and Best Music Score. It may be lucky if it earns Best Picture.
This is my favourite Nolan film. He hasnt done one bad film yet. I do love Batman Begins and The Prestige but I do really like Memento and Insomnia. Its my favourite film from everyone in the cast. It is in my opinion the best action film ever made. The Dark Knight isnt a superhero film, it is THE superhero film which makes it the greatest superhero film ever made. It is the Godfather of comic book films. It is the best film of 2008 so far. It will probably be my favourite film of 2008. It is one of my all-time favourite films and one of the three perfect films for me which are The Dark Knight, Forrest Gump and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street which are and hopefull always will be my top 3 films of all time. There will never be any better superhero film than The Dark Knight and there wont be any better Christopher Nolan film neither than The Dark Knight. Masterpiece!!!

Genre: Biography/Drama/Thriller/War

My review:
They were degraded, they were hoarded up, and they were sent to die. A brave few fought back, but one man would not be beaten, would not be taken, and would stay and hide. Wladyslaw Szpilman, a brilliant Polish pianist, a Jew, escapes deportation. Forced to live in the heart of Warsaw ghetto, he shares the suffering and humiliation and the struggles, and manages to escape and hide in the ruins of the capital.
This film is one of the most powerful films of all time. I personally think that this film is just as powerful as Schindlers List. I find it so powerful because it has that beautiful inspiring taste to it of how Szpilman survived the Holocaust and also because of the adorable music that is used. The best scene is the scene where Szpilman is playing the piano for the German officer in a really huge house in Warsaw. It is such a powerful and inspiring moment that does touch everybody in different varieties of ways who watch it. It is a horrible and gut retching too because of what the Holocaust was really like and how the Jews were treated by the Nazis. It shows the true horror of what it was really like not only for a Jew but for anybody at all in the world who lived around the 1930s and 1940s. It is just so shocking because it is such a realistic film and makes me fell hard to believe that it was true.
Adrien Brody delivers an absolutely outstanding performance as Wladyslaw Szpilman. His performance is very powerful because Adrien drags us along Szpilmans journey to survival in the Holocaust. Adrien is obviously an American man but he really does look like a young, Jewish musician man which makes Adrien Brody absolutely perfect to Wladyslaw Szpilman. He makes us believe that the Holocaust made us obviously feel terrible because of what happened but mostly to the people who survived about who they really are. Adrien shows that Wladyslaw seemed like a really nice hearted man and a real hero who could have saved more Jews but obviously only saved himself. Thomas Kretschmann makes a mild appearance as a German officer. His performance is a really good supporting performance. His character reminds me of Oskar Schindler because the officer saved Szpilman and Schindler saved people too. The differences are that more than one Jew was saved by Schindler and also Schindler was a member of the Nazi party but not in the army. I thought the direction from Roman Polanski was absolutely oustanding. His direction is very similar to Steven Spielbergs in Schindlers List. It is like a direction of massacres, of redemption and of beauty too. The writing was absolutely outstanding. It was a really cleverly adapted piece of work that is used.
I personally think that this film along with Schindlers List make biographic films obviously important and quite depressing but also absolutely beautiful and inspiring aswell.
The chemistry between Szpilman and the German officer was obviously enemies but a little friendship. I personally think that the German Officer only helped Szpilman because it was sympathy and that he felt sorry for him and he probably felt bad because of the state that Szpilman was in and that he was slowly starving to death. The twist was when Szpilman was seperated from his family and became all alone and lived in the ruins of Warsaw for months. Everything was true in this film.
This film only had the words f**k and f**king only about twice and there was s**t about three times. The violence was quite graphic but not as graphic as Schindlers List. There was bloody violence when the Jews were shot in the head for no reason whatsoever. This film had absolutely oustanding cinematography. It looked ever so realistic and all of the photography that was used was absolutely perfect. I thought that the art direction was superb. It was all typical World War II scenery with such clever materials and colorful settings. I loved the costumes too just like Schindlers List. The music is so inspiring it is just so beautiful and is just amazing.
This film won 3 Academy Awards. It won Best Leading Actor (Adrien Brody), Best Director (Roman Polanski) and Best Adapted Screenplay. It deserved direction and screenplay awards but I personally think that the Best Leading Actor award should have gone to Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs Of New York. I am not saying that Adrien Brody was bad at all. He was amazing! I think that it was luck that Adrien won because I heard that the Academy sort of changed their minds announcing Adrien Brody the winner instead of Daniel-Day Lewis. It was nominated for Best Picture (lost to Chicago but I think it should have won it), Best Cinematography (lost to Road To Perdition), Best Costume Design (lost to Chicago) and Best Film Editing (lost to Chicago). It was nominated for only two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor (Drama) for Adrien Brody but lost to Jack Nicholson in About Schmidt. It also lost Best Picture (Drama) to The Hours which in my opinion was dead wrong because The Hours was absolutely crap.
It is Roman Polanskis best film in my opinion. I liked it more than Chinatown. It is probably Adrien Brodys most famous performance too after he did win an Academy Award for his performance as Wladyslaw Szpilman. This film became my all time favourite biography film (film based on a true story) of all time. It is also my favourite film of 2002. It is my Best Picture winner of 2002. It is a film that is horrible but is just an absolutely gorgeous and beautiful film to watch as you carry on with it. It is a masterpiece!! Simple as that!

The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells Stop!, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes. Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.
Directed by: David Fincher Starring: Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Helena Bonham Carter, Meat Loaf, Zach Grenier
Genre: Action/Drama/Thriller
Running time: 139 minutes

My review:
Fight Club is a total masterful work of art from David Fincher. Fight Club is a film that is just complete kick ass all the way through it. It is one of those films that is very violent even before you watch it because the two words in the title are ways of violence. Fight Club is a new cinematic experience that truly reveals human behaviour not only because of the fighting in Fight Club but also because of the psychological side of humans. It is a film that some people wouldn't like because of the violence but would because of really cool characters and actors involved. I find Fight Club was underestimated at first because it came out but now it is a cult masterpiece with a lot of meaning to it. It is a little overrated but can't help but adore it to bits as I do.
Brad Pitt is awesome in this film as Tyler Durden. He makes me laugh in this film because Tyler can be a total arsehole and a slimy arrogant character but in a humurous way. Tyler is described just the same as Brad Pitt as far as appearances is concerned. He was a very hard leader at Fight Club. Tyler is a very manipulating character because of what he does to the narrator in this film and what he usually likes to do. Edward Norton is really good too. I think he was chosen to be in this film because his character is slightly similar to his character in American History X. Edward told a story in that film as he does in Fight Club in which he is really good at. I find Marla Singer a typical Helena Bonham Carter character because she is a very unusual and mysterious character and also because of Marla's appearance. She is like a really heavy smoker and a mixed up slag. It is really unusual when she attends the testicular cancer obviously because she is a woman. Marla is a sort of character that Helena hasn't ever portrayed before but now feels like she should portray characters like Marla now. Marla's bizzareness is sort of like Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street.
The direction from David Fincher was simply outstanding. I liked it more than Se7en. I loved the instant camera angles that Fincher has in this film particularly the fight scenes. The script was very original which is what most cult films are like as far as screenplay is concerned. It was written to catch the audience's attention and to keep their eyes on it because it is so breathtaking.
As I said, I find Marla Singer quite similar to Mrs. Lovett. Tyler Durden is in my opinion a tie with Jules Winnfield as the coolest charact in cinema history. This is where Fight Club is quite similar to Pulp Fiction.
The chemistry between narrator and Tyler Durden was very manipulating because Tyler was always pushing him into doing awkward and bad things. I really loved narrator's with Marla because they both always have a change of heart with each other. It was quite tense at times because of the relationship between the two.
The sound effects were fantastic because it was so realistic especially with the Fight Club scenes and the fights. The setting was outstanding. It seems like it was set around the 1990s at least. The settings were especially good in the Fight Club cellar and also Tyler's house. It was really poor and crammy but it was really well designed. The make-up impressed me too with the blood that appeared on the men after they were fighting. That was realistic aswell.
This film was nominated for one Academy Award: Best Sound Editing but lost to The Matrix. It should have earned or should have been close to Best Leading Actor (Brad Pitt), Best Director (David Fincher), Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound Mixing and maybe even Best Picture 1999.
This is my favourite film from Fincher so far. It is my favourite film from Brad Pitt and Edward Norton so far but it is my second favourite Helena Bonham Carter film after obviously Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street. Fight Club is my favourite cult film and second favourite film of 1999 after The Green Mile. It is on the list of favourite films without a single doubt. Also, it has the greatest plot twist that I have ever seen and in my opinion, the biggest twist of all time. Masterpiece!!!!!

There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.
Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Starring: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, Bruce Willis
Genre:Crime/Drama
Running time: 154 minutes

My review:
Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield are two hitmen on the hunt for a briefcase whose contents were stolen from their boss, Marsellus Wallace. They run into a few unexpected detours along the road. Marsellus is out of town, and he's gotten Vincent to take care of his wife, Mia. That is, take her out for a night on the town. Things go smoothly until one of them makes a huge error. Butch Coolidge is a boxer who's been approached by Marsellus and been told to throw his latest fight. When Butch ends up killing the other boxer, he must escape Marsellus. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny (not their real names) are two lovebirds/thieves who have decided to rob the restaurant they're currently eating at. But the restaurant doesn't turn out to be as easy as the other places they've robbed.
I dont know how to explain how this film made me feel. Well, I have to say that this film made me feel really good because of the absolutely outstanding written script and also the characters were just too cool. I loved the scenes with the burger and the bible. That is typical Tarantino. I just loved every single thing about this film. This film sort of made me feel a bit off about it at first but after a second viewing it has become one of my all time favourite films. I think at first I didnt understand it and didnt quite get the humour within it. I was 14 when I first saw it but second time when I was 16, I loved it even more. This film really thrilled me because I had never seen those types of characters before who are deadly and humourus at the same time. Also, when there was the gay rape scene, I felt really awkward about that because I have never seen anything like that before on TV (only until I watched The Shawshank Redemption before Pulp Fiction. That was mostly the reason why I felt so thrilled.
John Travolta delivers an outstanding performance as Vincent Vega. John Travolta was really cool as Vincent because he was a humourous foul mouthed swearing man and also his hair with his earrings and his size aswell made him look cool. He deserved his Oscar nomination as Vincent but wasnt quite on the same level as Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. I loved Johns cool attitude with Jules on the way into the flats to pay Brett and his friends a visit. Samuel L. Jackson delivers another outstanding performance as Jules Winnfield. Why didnt he win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor instead of Martin Landau in (Ed Wood)? Jules is obviously a really bad languaged bastard but Sam Jackson improves on the character and makes it more powerful too. I love Jules original character not because of the Bible and the burger lines but mostly the nature of the character of how and when he is going to kill his victims. It is truly an outstanding character. Jacksons performance as Jules is my all time favourite performance by an actor in a supporting role. John Travolta and Uma Thurmans performances are on my list of my favourite Best Leading Actor performances and Best Supporting Actress performances. I really liked Bruce Willis aswell in this film. He made Butch a nice man but quite a really deadly one to as he did that in Die Hard.
Quentin Tarantino directed this film really well. He directed the camera angles and made all of the actions absolutely perfect. Despite of how good Tarantinos direction was, Zemeckis direction was better in Forrest Gump. The writing was absolutely outstanding too. The film deserved his Oscar for Best Original Screenplay because of its original style and typical gangster scenes.
I found this film very different compared to Tarantinos other films like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill because I find that it isnt action packed at all, it was just too cool. For some reason, I found Reservoir Dogs really action packed even though I didnt like it at all. But was very similar because of the very cool creative Tarantino writing and typical characters that I find very similar to. There is one thing that all Tarantino characters have in common and that is that they kill.
The chemistry between Jules and Vincent is really cool because they both want to to their jobs properly but are quite tense ones too because I find that they are two two slightly different characters. I really liked the chemistry between Mia Wallace and Vincent because I personally think that they were both sarcastically falling in love because they both say sarcastic comments to each other but I personally think that they both have something together and also Vincent tries to help her after she has like a fit or something.
There werent that many twists really. There was when we first see Pumpkin and Honey Bunny and they are determined to rob the café and it is obvious that Jules and Vincent will stop them. Also, there is when the story changes from Vincent Vega And Marsellus Wallaces Wife to The Gold Watch and then to The Bonnie Situation. When there is Jules and Vincent, then Vincent and Mia, then Butch and Marsellus and then Jules and Vincent again.
For some reason, I find Vincent Vegas character quite similar to Tommy DeVito in GoodFellas because of the attitude twards each other.
This film was very violent. It was really bloody but wasnt just violent with blood but was also sexually violent too. There was one love scene between Butch and his girlfriend and that is about it. The language is typically Quentin Tarantino because there are lots of bad words and foul mouthed language that is used in this film.
This film had awesome sound and awesome music. I found the costumes obviously general costumes but were very new with a new style if you understand what I am trying to say.
This film was a winner of only one Academy Awards. It won Best Original Screenplay (beating Bullets Over Broadway, Four Weddings And A Funeral, Heavenly Creatures and Three Colours: Red). But lost Best Picture (lost to Forrest Gump), Best Leading Actor (John Travolta - lost to Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump), Best Supporting Actor (Samuel L. Jackson -lost to Martin Landau in Ed Wood), Best Supporting Actress (Uma Thurman -lost to Dianne Wiest in Bullets Over Broadway), Best Director (Quentin Tarantino - lost to Robert Zemeckis in Forrest Gump) and Best Film Editing (lost to Forrest Gump). The 1994 Academy Awards were a tear to me but in a good way because it was a great year for films and it was a tight one to call between Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. All three were nominated for Best Picture. I personally think that 1994 Best Picture was the tighest one to call Best Picture Of The Year after all three are just classic masterpieces that everybody loves. If I had to choose the winner it would be Forrest Gump because I found that it was more powerful because it is a truly great inspiration to me. Pulp Fiction is still a truly outstanding phenomenon. It was like for the Academy Awards: Forrest Gump vs. Pulp Fiction. Both films are classics, I love one more than the other in different ways. Forrest Gump because it was more emotional and inspiring but Pulp Fiction because it was cooler and was better written. I love The Shawshank Redemption too.
This film is the best Tarantino film of all time and will probably always be his best film. It was the best John Travolta performance after Grease, Samuel L. Jacksons best performance too, Uma Thurmans performance is outstanding too but I prefer her in Kill Bill particularly first one. This film didn?t disappoint me at all because it was just so original and too cool but it is a little overrated but not as overrated as Reservoir Dogs. One of my favourite films and one of the best films of all time too.

I've been framed for murder and the cops are in on it. But the real enemy, the son of a bitch who killed the angel lying next to me, he's out there somewhere, out of sight, the big missing piece that'll give me the how and the why and a face and a name and a soul to send screaming into hell.
Directed by:Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez Starring: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Benicio Del Toro
Genre: Action/Crime/Thriller
Running time: 117 minutes

My review:
Bruce Willis stars as Hartigan, a cop with a vow to protect a stripper, Nancy; Mickey Mourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love; and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shellie, who spends his night defending Gail and her Old Town girls from Jackie, a tough guy with a penchant for violence.
Sin City is certainly one of the biggest kick-ass films of all time. I think this is a film that everybody loves because of the really cool characters, the awesome visual effects and the really cool story in general. It is a really deadly and bloody film that is very graphic indeed. It made me cringe at first because it was so good but after watching it again I didnt cringe at all. I just laughed because it was so f**king awesome!! I think the main thing I love about Sin City was because I thought all of the characters were all so very powerful. Not one of them were soft characters. They were all quite villainous apart from Nancy. They were the main reasons why this film made me feel really good. Also, because I thought it was a very unusual adaptation of comic book films that nobody had ever seen before mostly because of the visual effects.
Bruce Willis delivers a really good performance as Hartigan because he acts a bit like John McClane once again apart from that he protecting someone and that he is more deadly and violent than he is as John McClane. That is probably one of the main reasons why I think Willis makes a really strong powerful cop. Mickey Rourke delivers a powerful performance as Marv because Rourke seems like that hulky, bulging and extremely deadly guy. Also, because of Rourkes deep voice and his lust for revenge for Goldie on the person who killed her. Mickey makes Marv quite a nice guy inside when he is away from his dirty business with the villainous people within the city. Clive Owen delivers an absolutely amazing performance as Dwight. Dwight is the third hero in the third storyline of the film. His character really made me cringe because the character was just so cool. I totally think the character is typical Clive Owen because Clive has portrayed very similar sort of characters before. Dwight reminds me a lot of Smith from Shoot Em Up because he had that charming and deadly style that brings together the two characters ever so easily. Jessica Alba delivers a good performance as Nancy. Her performance is probably the sexiest performance that I have ever seen because Jessica has that exactly perfect body for Nancy. She seems like a a totally gorgeous character to be around and to witness when she strips. As far as her acting is concerned, it was good. It really improved after her appauling performance as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four. I really liked Benicio Del Toro too because he is really good at playing a really cold hearted villain. Benicio in my opinion reminds me a lot of Javier Bardem not only because he looks like him but also they both portray similar sorts of characters. Benicios scenes with Clive are just superb because they both seem cool together when they are portraying their characters.
The direction from Frank Miller was just kick ass because he makes it seem so realistic you could just jump out of your seat. The extremely well adapted script is also just kick ass that you could just laugh at the lines that are said by the characters.
This film is different compared to 300 because 300 is a war film and also because there wasnt really very much black and white involved like there was in Sin City. The only similarity is the visual effects because 300 along with Sin City is a graphic comic book novel by Frank Miller. This film will be very similar to The Spirit because of the black and white sceneries and also because of the action, direction and cleverly adapted cinematography that will be used from Frank Miller. The only difference is that it is a completely different sort of story.
The relationship between Nancy and Hartigan is at first just strangers slowly knowing each other as life goes on but it leads to love for both of them even though Hartigan is like 20 or maybe even 30 years older than Nancy. Marv didnt really have a connection with any character that he was confronting because all he was doing was killing people. The only one I can write about is when he is fighting Kevin he feels like he needs to kill him not only revenge for Goldie but also for any other female prostitute and stripper within the city. I really liked Dwight and Gails partnership because they were like complete strangers and when Gail kissed Dwight, he sort of fell for her instantly after going off Shellie after she betrayed him.
I would say that the twists are when the storylines change from The Costumer Is Always Right to That Yellow Bastard to The Hard Goodbye to The Big Fat Kill to That Yellow Bastard Part 2.
This film was very violent indeed but it was more comic violence and fantasy violence more than actual realistic violence that occurs a lot in this world. I thought there was quite a lot of crude sex involved aswell but there wasn't really any bad language at all. I find that if this film had really bad language in it, it would make the film weaker and badly adapted writing script for such a cool film like this.
This film had absolutely amazing cinematography which made the colours so realistic and even quite inspiring because it was brand new to films. I thought that the art direction was absolutely fantastic aswell. The costumes were awesome which adapted perfectly with the comics. The sound was absolutely amazing indeed.
It was snubbed for an Oscar nomination for Best Sound. This film didnt earn any Oscar nominations at all but should have earned some for Best Cinematography, Best Sound and Best Visual Effects.
It is Frank Millers best comic book and best film that he has done so far. It isnt Bruce Willis best film. I liked it more in Pulp Fiction. It is my second favourite Clive Owen film after Closer. This film achieved a lot for me. It became the best film of 2005, the second best comic book film of all time after The Dark Knight, one of my favourite action films of all time, one of my favourite black and white films and most importantly one of my top 20 films of all time.

Get away from her, you bitch!!
Directed by: James Cameron Starring: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen, Carrie Henn, Paul Resier
Genre: Action/Horror/Sci Fi/Thriller
Running time: 154 minutes

My review:
The only survivor of the Nostromos deadly encounter with the alien, Ripleys escape pod floats in space for 57 years. After being rescued, Ripley is stunned when her story is met with disbelief. Then all communication is lost with the colonsits who have settled on the alien planet. When the Company asks Ripley to accompany a team of high-tech colonial Marines back to LV-426, she refuses. But she ultimately realises that the only way to banish her fear is to confront it head on. Sigourney Weaver reprises her role as Ellen Ripley for one of the most compelling and critically acclaimed sequels of all time.
Aliens is one of those films that is a really scary film but can impress everybody because of its completely heart racing story. It is an absolutely outstanding thrill ride that deserves its place on my favourite films list. I dont think I have ever seen a film that is really weird but is really well adapted and made look so realistic. All of the aliens in this film particularly the Alien Queen are all characters that are obviously not real but are characters that stay in your mind and cant stop thinking about. In a slight way, it is for good reason because of the reality of the film but isnt because are fictional creatures. It is a film that made me feel really great because of its thrilling story, characters and technical qualities like sound, visual effects, cinematography, art direction etc. I didnt want to watch this film at first because it is a sci fi horror and I dont like those sort of films but now after watching all four of the Alien films I changed my mind and I love sci fi horrors now. It is a very emotional and good story which is very rare of a sci fi horror film.
Sigourney Weaver delivers a performance that is far better than her performance in the first film. Also, raises a new level of acting in science fiction films. Sigourney was still really good in that one though. I liked Ripleys character more in this one because she is a real badass in this one and a badass more than ever because she is obviously a real hero but can be a bit of a bitter person which is in her personality. She sort of seemed like a female Indiana Jones/James Bond sort of character particularly as far the action scenes are concerned. Her performance sort of brought a new Ellen Ripley because she was an ordinary person but since witnessing the aliens and everything about her has changed, he becomes a whole new person and for damn good reason. I liked Carrie Henn as Newt because she is a lot like a supporting young action hero in a science fiction film. For example, Dakota Fanning in War Of The Worlds and Danny and Walter in Zathura.
The direction from James Cameron was absolutely awesome. It was better than Ridley Scotts direction from the previous Alien film. This is Camerons second well known film after The Terminator. He started one of the greatest film franchises of all time (The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day), one of the best sequels of all time (Aliens), best science fiction films of all time (Aliens and The Abyss), one of the best romantic films, one of the best epics of all time and the highest grossing film of all time (Titanic). The script was really good aswell with awesome scenes that were all none-stop action.
This one is different to the first one because Ripley has to bodyguard a little girl aswell as herself. She discovered who she really is after the horror of being around the aliens in the previous film. This one was more different aswell because there were more characters involved.
This film was extremely violent but it was more comic violence like all of the other Alien films are and so are most of the science fiction films that have been made. This film has no sex references at all but does have a lot of bad language with a lot of bad words used like b***h which is used with that famous quote from Ripley. I couldnt believe the visual effects because they were absolutely outstanding and were so realistic. It was the absolutely fantastic computer work that was so clever about them. I found that the visual effects made it seem like a horror film but I dont really thing that neither this film nor any of the other Alien films are horror films because they are fictional creatures. The sound effects were absolutely outstanding. I found them quite similar to the visual effects in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Not The Terminator because visual effects were crap in that. The setting was simply superb because it was obviously dark and creepy but it was a real kick ass setting that made the audience feel scared and great at the same time. The cinematography was absolutely outstanding too with all of the camera angles and the usage of the different cameras used in this film.
This film won 2 Academy Awards: Best Sound Editing and Best Visual Effects. It was nominated for Best Actress (Sigourney Weaver) but lost to Marlee Matlin in Children Of A Lesser God, Best Art Direction but lost to A Room With A View, Best Sound but lost to Platoon, Best Film Editing Platoon and Best Music, Original Score but lost to Round Midnight. This film was nominated for one Golden Globe and that was Best Actress Drama (Sigourney Weaver) but lost to Marlee Matlin in Children Of A Lesser God. I dont think anything disappointed me with this film. Ellen was just like an only one person hero because she did pretty much all of her heroic work all by herself by fighting off the aliens.
I am torn whether this is my favourite James Cameron film. Titanic is its rival to this. This is my favourite film from Sigourney Weaver. The 1980s was an amazing decade for science fiction films and action/adventure/thrillers. Aliens is the best of the quadrilogy. I loved Alien too, really liked Alien: Resurrection but was quite disappointed with Alien3. I love this film a lot too because it is my dads favourite film and one of my mums favourite films too. Along with Star Wars trilogy, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Matrix trilogy, Blade Runner and The Terminator trilogy, Aliens is one of the greatest science fiction films of all time. It is without a doubt one of the best films of all time. Masterpiece!!!

Today is history. Today will be remembered. Years from now the young will ask with wonder about this day. Today is history and you are part of it. Six hundred years ago when elsewhere they were footing the blame for the Black Death, Casimir the Great - so called - told the Jews they could come to Krakow. They came. They trundled their belongings into the city. They settled. They took hold. They prospered in business, science, education, the arts. With nothing they came and with nothing they flourished. For six centuries there has been a Jewish Krakow. By this evening those six centuries will be a rumour. They never happened. Today is history.
Directed by: Steven Spielberg Starring: Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, Caroline Goodall, Embeth Davidtz
Genre: Biography/Drama/War
Running time: 195 minutes

My review:
The film represents the indelible true story of the enigmatic Oskar Schindler, a member of the Nazi party, womaniser and war profiteer who saved the lives of more than 1000 Jews during the Holocaust. It is a triumph of one man who made a difference and the drama of those who survived one of the darkest chapters in human history because of what he did.
I loved Schindler's List an awful lot. I liked it first time but loved it even more after watching it again. It is really emotional because obviously it is a heartbreaking film because of the Holocaust and what happens to the Jews during World War II. Approximately 6 million Jews were murdered. This film truly shows us what the Holocaust was really like and what the Jewish people were treated like. Schindlers List shows us what it was really like and made us feel like a Jew because we felt sorry for them because they werent appreciated at all. This film made me feel quite sick in a few ways because the Nazis stated that the Jews were scum, evil and with dirty blood but they arent at all. They are only human. The Nazis are the ones with dirty blood, scum and evil because what they do to the Jews is right to them. Despite of how emotional, heartbreaking and depressing this film is, it is also an absolutely beautiful and inspiring film too. This film shows that even an enemy can save people for the right reasons which is what Oskar Schindler does. It also shows despite of what damage humans can create but also shows what beauty humans can create aswell. Schindlers List is one of those films that is really hard to watch and that everyone must watch aswell. I find Schindlers List quite hard to review to be perfectly honest.
Liam Neeson delivers an absolutely outstanding performance as Oskar Schindler. Neeson is obviously a well known actor but he doesnt really earn much credit for the films he has been in like Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Batman Begins, Kingdom Of Heaven and Kinsey. Oskar Schindler is the character of Neesons character and is without a doubt Neesons best performance. He is the perfect Schindler because he makes Schindler not only a real life person but also a character of his own in my opinion. He deserved his Oscar nomination but wasnt good enough in my opinion to win the Academy Award. Oskar Schindler was obviously a hero but Liam Neeson made him a real hero of his own as his own character. Ben Kingsley delivers an awesome performance as Schindlers Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern. Stern worked alongside Schindler as the accountant for his Enamelware company in Kraków and greatly helped in running the company. He is credited with typing the list of names known as Schindlers List; a list of Jews who survived the Holocaust because of Oskar Schindler's intervention. Ben Kingsley was a major and extremely supportive actor in this film. He alongside Liam Neeson in the scenes made this film more powerful that it already is. He should have had an Oscar nomination alongside Ralph Fiennes in this film. Ralph Fiennes delivers an even more powerful performance as commandant of the Nazi Concentration Camp Amon Goth. Ralph Fiennes also made Goth a character of his own too because of how cleverly Fiennes interpreted the cold hearted man that was Amon Goth. Ralph Fiennes has always been brilliant at portraying a villain but Amon Goth is the colder villain than Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter series. He is truly a character that I want to really hurt so badly because he is so cold and horrible. Ralph Fiennes deserved his Oscar nomination in this film.
The directing from Steven Spielberg was absolutely phenomenon. The beauty as well as the horror that Spielberg brings into this film is just great. Spielberg proves something in this film especially when it involves the little girl in the red coat because anyone can see a Jew suffer, anyone can help a Jew and also anyone can hurt a Jew that size. Despite, the fact that the little girl doesnt speak in the film, she is quite a difference making character because she is the only character that shows colour because she is like the only beauty within the film even though there are dark hours and dark events that occur in this film which is why I have to call Schindler's List the best from legend Steven Spielberg. I think the one thing that I simply love about Steven Spielberg is that all of his films affect people in different ways. Most of the films he has done have been very heartfelt emotional ones particularly this, E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial, The Color Purple, A.I: Artificial Intelligence, Saving Private Ryan, Munich, The Terminal and Catch Me If You Can. But Spielberg can affect people because of the complete enjoyment of his films. For example, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and War Of The Worlds are complete action packed thrill rides. People will love those because of its action, suspense and general beauty of them. The script writing was phenomenal. It was very clever and it was very persuasive in a slight way because of the beauty and the horror that was the Holocaust. This film is obviously a war film but it isnt a war action packed soldier film but despite that, this film needs to be called a war film because it is obviously set during World War II (1939-1945) and also because it is like a war that the Nazis are causing in the Holocaust between them and the Jews. This is one of the best biography films ever made. The one film that is similar to Schindlers List is The Pianist because it is the cloest film to Schindlers List that tells a true story about the Holocaust.
The only difference is that The Pianist is mostly about one person but Schindlers List is about every single Jew in Poland. The chemistry between Oskar Schindler and Itzhak Stern was obviously a slight enemy side to it because Stern is Jewish and Schindler is Nazi but they obviously are absolutely great friends who arent just work partners but also seem like brothers or any other family relation. Their relationship was beautiful. My heart melted when Schindler broke down in tears because he couldnt get enough Jews out to save them but Stern understood Schindler and said that he had got enough out and that he did too much. Also, when the Jewish people walked up to Schindler and hugged him. I felt really tense with the relationship between Oskar Schindler and Amon Goth because it is like a certain clash of personality. Schindler sort of changes personality when he first sees what the Nazis do the Jews and how they treat them. Also, of how Amon Goth treats them. It is tense because no one knows for sure whether Schindler did confront Goth about the Jewish massacre.
The twist was when Schindler decided to write a list down of all the Jewish people he could save from the Holocaust and death itself. Every single thing about this film was true. It is a story that I first didnt believe was true but it really was true.
This film was very violent when some Jews were shot in the head. There was a lot of bloody impacy from the gunshots from the Nazis. This film did have one sex scene involving Schindler and his wife and that was about |
