Speed Racer (2008)
by DNot so good. Nothing comes off worse in a movie than attempting to hit two opposite demographics at once. Goodman, Ricci and Hirsch were all good calls. Ricci is really a missed gem in the acting world and Goodman is always a good father.
The action is fast, I guess (define fast really), however it's done in the worst possible way. It's all CG, which I suppose is necessary but it's is way over the top, past the point of comical to just plain boring. Unfortunately they try to make the heart of the story itself serious and interesting, but all is lost in the horrible comical aspects.
When a movie juxtaposes seriousness and well placed interest with monkey poop throwing humor and just horrible machoism-cgi-bullcrap racing scenes, well, it doesn't make the film any easier to watch for either.
Could've been much better, could've been great in fact, however, like many great ideas, the final product was a dud. In that sense, it was doubly disappointing to watch, although, imagining what it could have been is almost worth the effort to sit through it.This is an un-recommendation. It's what I do best.

by ♥LisaReally different,yet really cool,I am telling you I absolutely love John and Joan Cusack starring together they got to be 2 of the coolest siblings I have ever seen.They act so well together.Hilary Duff was a baaaad little girl in this flick,I am sure the guys will dig it.Ben Kingsley with a southern accent is a trip beyond words.Marisa Tomei rounds out a weirdly, wonderful cast.Oh, and I never knew John Cusack had it in him to kick so much ass,Nicely done John!!Cool Movie =)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
by ♥LisaAhhh So cool,I love this!Such an excellent cast,I don't think Casting directors get enough credit,they should.Anyway RIDICULOUSLY funny.Russel Brand and his comedy stole the show for me,he is freakin hilarious.Its laughs all the way through and then some.If you like comedies this will do the trick.SEE IT!! P.S. The Dracula Song Rocks (The Bar Version!)

Street Kings (The Night Watchman)
by JeffThis was a very good film. It has a great plot with many twists. Keanu Reeves gives a very strong performance, once again. And Forest Whittaker was amazing in this as well. This film has a very good supporting cast too.

by ♥LisaReally Cool flick I liked this one.Yeah it smelled a little predictible here and there but who cares? The twisted concept of this movie was like a weird cross between Se7en and The Saw movies, so if you like either of those or both you will most likely love this.Intense at times I did enjoy this movie.I am recommending this one.=)

P.S. I Love You
by BrockI truly enjoyed this film and there are some entertainingly funny moments, some emotional moments ( not as many as i thought there would be, but more than enough for my wife) and a truly wonderful story about love and loss and basically life sadly goes on with his help with letters after Gerard Butler's death.
I think Gerard Butler is impressive in this film esp after his male bravado in 300, definitely think he was the perfect person for the role. I also enjoyed the supporting cast, but for some reason I wasnt truly convinced about Swank. But hey thats just me. Still if you enjoy a good laugh n cry than you will enjoy this ( i didn't find myself crying but my wife did whereas i did with 'The Notebook',' Beaches' or an olden goldie like 'The Ghost & Mrs Muir', my favourite love story - similar in some ways this film).Hey, you should really see this!

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
by BrockSadly i had high expectations for this film and were let down immensley. First thing i will say is that Affleck & Pitt are wonderful actors but this film was such a drawn out yawn.
Here is a film that is well over 2hrs long and they leave out important parts to the mindset of Ford ( he was arrested for killing Jesse's cousin, didn't stroll into a police station and was told he would be pardoned if he killed Jesse James. After killing James he was arrested before being pardoned. Now the last part of all that sounds like a more interesting story than the time spent from moving house to house in the first hour of this damn film. Think I need to go back and watch the Life of Jesse James and not the hero worshiping turn coward of Fords life as if this was it was incredibly dull and uninteresting. At least Jesse fires he gun more than once!!!!!Hey, you should really see this if u want to lose 2hrs 40mins of your life!!!! Sure a few of my flixster friends will crucify me for a bad rating but 2 stars is much as i can give it!!!! It was incredibly long, boring, dull and found myself nodding of! Thank god i never went to the cinemas to see this. 2 stars is for Pitt & Affleck, who shined in this film and was nearly wondering if the assasination may have turned into my suicide!!!!!
