Back to the Future (1985,  PG)
Back to the Future 5.0 Stars
Perhaps the ultimate time travel film as well as an excellent comedy. This film is widely known and popular and will remain a classic. Michael J. Fox is great as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd is absolutely brilliant in perhaps his greatest ever character role. The story is gripping and intense and follows through on all its tie-ins. My personal favorite movie of all time.

The Love Bug (1968,  G)
The Love Bug 4.5 Stars
My favorite of the Herbie movies. It's a classic and full of fun. It began the saga and stars veteran Disney actor Dean Jones. Jones performs at top of his game and his dry wit and sarcastic humor are in good shape. David Tomlinson makes a great villian and is intstantly recognized by true disney fans (notably for Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks). Buddy Hackett is hilarious as the first believer in Herbie as well as the namer - he adds an extra element of comedic relief in this comedy. Beyond the bounds of the term Classic this is a must see of the Disney films. Excellent in acting and technical areas it is definitely worth the watch.

Walt Disney captured the classic mystery well while keeping his own humor and songs in the mix. This mouse Sherlock Holmes is great fun to watch. With all the Disney sequels lately, where's this one?

Wonderful comic-based film about a cool hero who uses a jet pack to save the day. Timothy Dalton once again delivers a superb performance as an actor gone bad while the film has a great 1930's feel with lots of action, comedy, and drama. A classic that can be watched again and again.

Fun and a great family film. Dean Jones returns as Jim Douglas and Don Knotts plays his hilarious mechanic. While it lacks the originality and cleverness of the first in the series this new director to the Herbie series does put the focus on Herbie and develops the little car's characteristics more.

It feels very much like the original three. I really enjoyed watching this and Star Wars IV A New Hope back to back because it connected the entire series for me. This really did connect all the lose ends and answer questions long asked since the original trilogy. Brought me the closest to the feel I had watching the original trilogy for the first time.

Ernest Goes to Jail (1990,  PG)
Ernest Goes to Jail 4.0 Stars
Hilarious and in my opinion the funniest Ernest movie. Jim Varney is at his best as the naive and dim-witted hero Ernest P. Worrell. Playing dual roles as hero and villian Varney out does himself along with some of his classic character routines (such as the old lady in green). Shockingly funny - especially due to Ernest getting magnetized every time he is electracuted. His jail break techniches are classic slapstick and the whole film makes me laugh.

Wonderful live enactment of a popular video game. Mario and Luigi look in fine form and all kinds of memories from the games are in there. Goombas, Toad, Bullet Bills, and Bob-Obs are seen just to name a few. Fun and clever.

Toy Story 4.5 Stars
Superb film. As the first full CGI film this one really delivers. A great all-star cast and an incredible story makes this a fantastic classic. This is the Disney/Pixar film that started it all. It was clever to use toys as the characters since it had never really been done before and is what made this a hit. The most original of the Pixar I think besides Monsters, INC.

Hilarious film mainly due to Laurel and Hardy. The three little pigs and the cat and the fiddle and "Mickey Mouse" characters had humor as well. Fun and enjoyable even if some of the songs are just ok.

Excellent voice acting and the artistic qualities are good. Merlin is an epitome of a Disney character - perhaps because he was somewhat based on Walt Disney himself? It's refreshing to have a male of royalty rather than another princess. King Arthur is great as a Disney tale.

Suprised me since I had no idea what to expect. Really liked it. Very well done comic-based film. The plot has depth, humor, and fun mixed with action and great creatures and characters. Versatile heroes and villians alike make this one of the better superhero/comic-based films done. Feels gritty like Batman, with humor like Spider-Man, and colorful characters like X-Men. Guillermo del Toro delivers a wonderful film.

The love story bogs it down. Obi-Wan and Jango Fett's battle is great and the final battle is worth it - especially the Yoda/Dooku fight. Still has classic creatures, characters, and locations that one expects from Star Wars.

Scooby-Doo 2 - Monsters Unleashed (2004,  PG)
Scooby-Doo 2 - Monsters Unleashed 3.0 Stars
This feels like it took place a few years after the original Scooby-Doo Where Are You? show. The monsters are the villians from the original series and the Mystery, INC. gang work together just like in the show. The cast is good and the visuals are great. It feels like a typical Scooby-Doo plot but its a lot of fun. Some of the modern takes on the characters just does not work but overall they are decent portrayals. Much better than the first which I refuse to accept as existing.
