WALL-E
G
Wow. This has been getting some amazing reviews and plus I love pixar, so I thought this would be an interesting watch. And yes, it was.
So Wall-E is a small robot left on a deserted planet Earth, left there to tidy the mess up. Everyone else, has abandoned it to go into Space. Wall-E is a cute little thing!
But then he meets Eva, also a robot, who has been sent there to check if there is any life out there left. She and Wall-E quickly develop a bond until she finds life- in a plant. She had to do what she was programmed to do and that then leads to a surprisingly fun adventure.
Not only was this plot genius and different, but it also had a moral. That one day, this could happen and what will there be left?
Surprisingly, there was only about 10 minutes speaking time in this movie as Wall-E only does beeps and such, but we could still see the emotion coming from him, and Eva.
Amazing and genius. Pixar hardly ever fail to disappoint and I think this could go out to all ages. =D
Step Up 2 the Streets
PG-13
I'm a tough critic. Well my friends know that. Watched this in German aswell. This got out-voted by Bourne Ultimatum. WTF? I know!
It was boring from the beginning and it didn't change. I only liked that skater dude! He was awesome, other than that the movie was annoying and it pissed me off.
It's just a group of dancers that enter some competition or something then fail miserably.
Okay the dancing was good, can't really say much about anything else though. The life/background of the characters were boring and cheesy. We've heard it all before.
I don't understand why so many people like this. It's overrated. Oh and I was the only girl that didn't vote to watch this. Tell you something??
John Tucker Must Die
PG-13
OhEmGee. In French class this girl bought this in for us to watch (okay i know! I bought in loads of DVDs like Spider-Man but the stupid bitches outvoted it). The minute I knew I was out voted I was pissed off.
You probably know I am not a fan of whiney chick flicks like this and this did nopt change my opinion.
The plot was whiney, stupid and pointless. The acting was awful and I was really pissed off by that other blond girl.
I just hope that I watch a better movie in class next week...
1 star because it utterly awful. Sorry to fans but it was bad.
The Pianist
R
Now, I watched this in a History class. Okay so it would be a little annoying with chavvy little shits taking the piss and talking the whole way through but yah know. =P
The film starts off with a family in Poland during the beginning of WW2. The Nazis have invaded and are sending the Jews into the ghettos. After time, the Jews get sent to the concentration camps and he survives because the Jewish police officer helps him out.
He moves into Warsaw and does building work for the Nazis. But he escapes and moves around with people helping him along the way.
It's incredibly sad and if it makes me this sad and emotional just watching an acted out movie, then I definetely wouldn't be able to survive at that time.
A masterpiece and Adrien Brody was amazing. Awesome actor.
Picture This!
Unrated
Average teen movie. There was nothing special to it apart from the awesome phone. HaaHaa!
Ashley Tisdale plays Mandy, a teenager who is grounded on the day her crush asks her to go to a party. She tries her best to defeat the popular enemies who try to bring her down.
So it was kinda boring, lacked character and her Dad pissed me off. I only liked the scene when they were in the furniture store. That was kinda funny!
Don't watch it unless you're that bored you have nothing to so. Typical chick flick.
Sex and the City: The Movie
R
I know this was highly antisipated meant to be a big Summer blockbuster. As I haven't seen any of the series before, I didn't know what to expect. The film opened with Sarah Jessica Parker or Carrie narrating it from what obviously, is where the series finished.
I think there was a strong cast and it was pretty funny the way through. Their dresses were awesome and poor Carrie when Big didn't show up at the wedding! I nearly cried!
It hasn't convinced me to watch the series but it was a good movie. I'm not too into chick flicks so yeah. =P

Primer
by Kropotkin Mouzer I must have seen this about 3 times already and still don't fully understand all the permutations, the overlap of "doubles" etc. The depth of the film is brilliant, I love its sci-fi grounding but realistic technology and implications, time travel on a personal basis.
Made with a budget of $6,000 and is one ofthe smartest time travel films that you will ever see. It does a good job in explaining what is going on in the time travel, and how it works, but it doesn't try and dumb it down so that the user can easily understand it.
Once they start to travel back and forth in time more and more, it becomes more and more confusing what is actually going on, but it still makes sense, you just have to think a lot while watching this film - and that is by no means a bad thing.
Entertainment Weekly | Lisa Schwarzbaum
Consider Primer a successful lab experiment with, as they might say in techie chat rooms, significant indie-cred applications, IMHO. Oh, and :-).While conducting experiments in a garage, two brilliant engineers who lead double lives discover that their project enables them to travel back in time.
Each man's curiosity leads to experiments without the other's knowledge, some with serious consequences.

The Dark Knight
by CamillePhenomenally Flawless!
Bale's Batman is the definitive Batman because we see everything in this character finally on film. Martial arts skills, cunning, great tactical thinking, forensic application, technological genius to advance or improve Luscious Fox's inventions/technological breakthroughs, intimidating personality, and even a little swashbuckling.
As for Heath, yes he gets credit for his performance as the Joker. But you have to also recognize Jonathan and Chris Nolan for the writing and treatment of the character. It's not just the fact that Ledger makes the Joker so menacing, but the Nolans have given the character this great manifesto that drives its actions. The Joker's stance on chaos, order, anarchy, the morality of the average modern human being make the character so interesting psychologically. The Nolans drafted a complex character and only a perfect performance could've pulled something like this off. That's how difficult of a role this was, and that's why Ledger's performance is so great.
This isn't an action movie. It's a film that explores literary themes of the hero and villain, as well as order and anarchy.Phenomenally Flawless!

WALL-E
by Kropotkin Mouzer In the 22nd century, the megacorporation Buy n Large assumed every economic service on Earth, including the government. Overrun by un-recycled waste, the planet eventually became so polluted that it could no longer support life. In an attempt to keep humanity alive, Buy n Large sponsored a five-year exodus to outer space aboard hundreds of massive "Executive Starliners", the largest of which is the Axiom. Thousands of adaptable waste management robots known as WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth-Class) were left behind to clean up the planet. The planet was found too toxic to return to and 700 years later only one WALL-E remains operational. After centuries of living in micro-gravity, the humans aboard the Axiom have lost considerable bone and muscle mass, rendering them too obese and weak to stand or move without robotic assistance, prominently from hovering chairs. Every task is now automated, including piloting the ship.
The sound was done by Ben Burtt whose previous work on Star Wars and ET have cemented his place as an elite sound effects artist. The muisc works perfectly, too.
Photorealism in animation has never been so good looking!
The plot is still a little soft, but a few political messages are thrown in. They have to do with trash, obesity, and screens everywhere. Surely this is the best animated movie I have seen this year (by far), and Pixar's best to date.
Life is nothing but imperfection and the computer likes perfection, so we spent probably 90% of our time putting in all of the imperfections, whether it's in the design of something or just the unconscious stuff. How the camera lens works in [a real] housing is never perfect, and we tried to put those imperfections [into the virtual camera] so that everything looks like you're in familiar [live-action] territory.
Andrew Stanton - Pixar Executive
The New Yorker | David Denby
Apparently, the movie has caused annoyance in some quarters because it criticizes the American way of life. This it does, and with suavity and supreme good humor. WALL-E is a classic, but it will never appeal to people who are happy with art only when it has as little bite as possible.

Kung Fu Panda
by Nessa and VinushaMmmhmmm...
It was good.
The film tells the story about a Kung Fu-obsessed, fat and clumsy but lovable panda, Po (superbly voiced by Jack Black),who works in his father's noodle shop in a little Chinese town called 'peace valley'. Against the odds, Po is selected by a Kung Fu master to be trained as a warrior, allowing him to fulfil his life-long ambition of fighting evil and saving his community.
But scratch below the surface, and you'll also find a surprisingly sensitive portrayal of chinese culture. Far removed from many netizens' accusations of belitting chinese culture, the film ultimately salutes it.
As my lil' sis puts, "On the outside, he's like anyone of us, lazy, ordinary. But inside he has the spirit of a Kung Fu warrior".
