Paranormal Activity

This is with no exaggeration the scariest movie I've seen maybe ever. And I've seen quite a few. The low budget of US15.000 didn't affect it the least, you just constantly got the feeling that it's being filmed next door. Forget about Blair Witch Project this was much more scarier. The reason behind it was cause everything resembled real. The house, the couple, the actual paranormal phenomena all so real. If you're lacking adrenaline watching it would probably be a good way to boost it up. Just don't watch it alone, grab a friend and watch it together. "Together" is always less scarier....I think! Its this-is-really-happening vibe and the "fear is real" sensation is genuinely so good. On a second thought maybe you should grab a few friends, the more the merrier just to cut the edge of that exhausting fear and "share" sensations during the movie. And whoever laughs during the first half will definitely stop during the second. Hoping not to have said too much to frighten you off from watching it (!) please do go see it cause otherwise you'll feel like you've missed on the best horror movie of the year.

You want a good horror film about a child from hell, you got one. But do not under no circumstances, let your children watch it. Very nerve wrecking, I thought I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown at places not because it was horrifying but due to the characters stupidity and incapability to detect something so obvious. All of the child actors are superb though, I was very impressed by their acting skills. The plot in outstandingly lunatic, which makes it the best part of Orphan. There is definitely something wrong with Esther but we don't get the smallest hint what that could be until the very end. And that's just fascinating. When the movie ends, you just want to go back and rewind in your head everything you've just seen and then everything just falls into place, all the whys are instantly answered. The only minuses - it took too long to start and too damn long to end as there's something creepy, and not pleasurably so, about watching children pantomime so much malice and fear. Nevertheless definitely worth watching it. Once. Most amusing seeing Claudette - CCH Pounder- from The Shield in the role of sister Abigail, that was hilarious. Awwwhhhh the scary Orphan looks so cute in this picture.
