The Princess and the Frog - G Very enjoyable fairy tale - reminds me more of some of the 80's Disney movies December 13, 2009

Partly Cloudy - G Cute December 9, 2009

Food, Inc. - PG A must-see for anyone who eats. December 6, 2009

Fantastic Mr. Fox - PG My review is the same as the title. Anderson's funniest yet. December 6, 2009
N/A
The Blind Side - PG-13 Yes, its nothing more than a saccharine-filled sugar cookie, but the frosting is cute and goes down well with milk. Imagine the least gaggable episode of Seventh Heaven with a bit of football thrown in so the menfolk aren't embarrassed to watch it.

And, its not near as racist as the trailer was.

Old Dogs - PG I went in with low expectations, but wow. Does this even qualify as a movie? I can't even really hate on it, just kind of look at it like when you're in a concept art gallery and not sure if the trash can in the corner is part of the exhibit or not. November 26, 2009
N/A
Planet 51 - PG Mostly boring. And I'm not sure buttplug jokes are appropriate for PG. November 22, 2009
N/A
An Education - PG-13 Very enjoyable film with a story that could have been drab and overserious. November 22, 2009

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day - PG-13 Fun, appropriately modest comedy. November 22, 2009
N/A
The Twilight Saga: New Moon - PG-13 The only thing I have against Edward Cullen is his taste in women.

The story here was a bit more interesting than last year's. You really already know what you're getting and whether you'll like this or not, so not much point in a review here.

And is there no Zoloft in Forks, WA? Bella's not in love, she's just a needy, spoiled teenager.

2012 - PG-13 A hell of a lot of fun. You know what you're getting with this type of movie - a bunch of destruction that doesn't take itself too seriously. Hilarious and exciting. Unlike Transformers, this 3-hour CGI-fest is really cool to look at and the long running time feels like its giving you your money's worth. November 14, 2009

The Men Who Stare at Goats - R Could have been so much better, but the movie never really figures out if it wants to say anything or not. Instead, just a movie about aging hippies for aging hippies. [pssst... you're not cool anymore....] November 9, 2009
N/A
Coco avant Chanel (Coco Before Chanel) - PG-13 Drags some here and there, but a good biopic, with good acting by Tautou. November 9, 2009
N/A
The Fourth Kind - PG-13 Has a lot of problems, but it's creepy and entertaining, so mission accomplished. November 9, 2009
N/A
Michael Jackson's This Is It - PG A good behind-the-scenes look that leaves you more appreciative of Jackson's genius. November 9, 2009
N/A
Le Silence de Lorna (The Silence of Lorna) (Lorna's Silence) - R Solid, feminist take on a standard indie-Euro plot. November 9, 2009
N/A
Paranormal Activity - R Well paced, somewhat scary movie. November 9, 2009
N/A
Song of the South - G A good, fun movie, and you're not racist just because you like it, but I don't think I'd be showing this to any children... its even more offensive than I thought it would be. October 21, 2009
N/A
Law Abiding Citizen - R Surprisingly entertaining. Think of it as a really good 'C' movie. And this was one of the rare times that I actually rooted *for* a district attorney. October 16, 2009
N/A
Where the Wild Things Are - PG I think I spent most of my childhood in a melancholy dreamland, so it works well. Probably more like a Wes Anderson film than Fantastic Mr. Fox will be. October 16, 2009
N/A
Couples Retreat - PG-13 At a budget of $70 million, Couples Retreat spent about $35 million a laugh. October 11, 2009
N/A
The Invention of Lying - PG-13 A hilarious smart movie that's light-years better than the trailer. Think more Life of Brian than Ghost Town. October 4, 2009
N/A
A Serious Man - R October 4, 2009
N/A
Zombieland - R Like The Road, only funny. This is more of a road trip movie than a zombie movie, and its nice, light fun. October 4, 2009
N/A
Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired - Unrated Well-made, timely doc. Clearly explains the issues involved without a whole lot of spin. September 28, 2009
