I know I promised to update my profile sometime later this year, so here it is...
If you haven't already noticed, I put off doin things til the absolute last minute. "Why do something today, if you can do it tomorrow"; one of my many mottos in life. I'm not a complete movie buff. I do have a life in the "real world" (ever heard of it??), but I do watch a lot of movies and I tend to recommend, or send out "be ware"-warnings, quite often. I also enjoy readin other people's reviews (no spoilers!!) so keep them comin!! I'm a huge Liverpool FC fan. Not that it has anythin to do with movies, but still... And for those of you who haven't heard of the team (or is pullin for a different one), I can only sigh, shake my head and feel a great deal of pity for you... I hate widgets!! And ppl sendin them should get shot!! With a teaser gun of course!! I'm not a COMPLETE psycho!! Real guns are reserved for ppl who text type!! Seriously!! Lets try to keep this site about movies, ok!! If you're a young girl and your only reason for addin me is cuz you think I'm cute; then DON'T!!! This also goes for really old men!! (Lately I've found that they sometimes share the same mentality...) If there's anythin else you wanna know, just write me a comment. Can't promise I'll answer tho... I don't hand out my e-mail or MSN to ppl over the Internet so do us both a favour and don't ask!! I got tricked into signin on on Facebook, but I only add ppl I've talked to at least once... |

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (Nightmare)
by JohnDon´t be afraid of watching this very underrated spooky and atmospheric horror gem which have some genuinely good scares.
Technically is very good, photography, music and production. The special effects are actually very impressive. The creatures themselves are convincing.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark)
by MeshThe first installment of the most successful movie in the world, Indiana Jones starts with a great opening scene, and continues with enjoyable adventure!
While watching Indiana Jones i just feel completely awe, this is the beginning of a great cinematic direction!
The story is a bit confusing, but Spielberg maintain in such way, that hands down this is one of his best direction, period.
The movie contains many humorous scenes, great action and acting, combine with one of the most adventurous movie ever.
The plot of Lost Ark comes as tacky to me, and it's right. the ark is that small?!
plot centers around how Indy with his sweetheart, Marion try to find the Lost Ark before it goes to the hand of the Nazis. it's the same old fashion, good guy and bad guy but the way of directing by the Genius Spielberg make this movie not boring and lame. i am sure I'll re-watch it again soon.
The direction is great, but left many plot hole (Heck, what you expect from a 80's movie!)
Plot hole: The biggest and funniest is, Lost Ark in Cairo? and Nazi's in Cairo too?
LOL.
But that doesn't over-shadow the brilliant direction, like the first temple scene, or chasing scene in Cairo or maybe the Snakes scene. The humor added here was even great, it doesn't come out as tacky, and surprising for me i keep laughing over and over.
Didn't know the 80's movie can be so much enjoyable. :)
Harrison Ford is the best Indy ever, he is great, don't need to say more. I love Karren Allen, she is so sweet to be true.
Favorite quote; Toht (the evil geologist):
'You Americans, you're all the same. Always overdressing for the wrong occasions...!'
9/10.For the one who have watched this, re-watch it! =)

Righteous Kill
by Kropotkin Mouzer Al Pacino and De Niro, good script, solid story, what could have possibly gone so wrong?
The twist was pretty much given away at the very start of the movie, it wasn't obvious, but if you watched enough crime movies you'll know the ending, probably just not worth seeing.
Skip this movie unless you're a fan of the duo.

by scottjosh brolin is superb as george bush, in apearence and voice, and while oliver stone hasent gone out to make a film to destroy the man, hes made him out to be both lovable, and a bit stupid, but full of conviction for what he wants to do, some moments here come off very spinal tap, if you watch it right, and others, especially anything concerning them talking about situation in irak, and plans are handled very well, and frightening, we have a look at his early life in texas, and his relationship with his father, also former preseident, and his disapointment in his son, bush comes out at times a lovable fool, if thats possible, and shows at the end of it all, put a guy in a job, he becomes that job, some great speeches also fom bush in this, using well, his famous bad use of phrases, theres also great support from james cromwell, richard dreyfuss, and sprcial mention to jeffrey wright as his advisers, oliver stone has said he didnt want to make a film to destroy him, but in a way, hes poking fun here, but thats not to bad
oliver stone makes bush a lovable texan

Pride and Glory
by scotta cracking police coruption set in newyork, with two very good performances from ed norton and colin farell, as cops, one inocent, the other not so, and a case that brings it all out into the open, a nice feel to it, very 70s, newyork looks cold, and the story, full of corruption elements but also a family story as well, jon voight as the father, and noah emmerich also do some fine work

by BrianOK, for those of you eho know me, you know know I'm really potically aware and into politics. So of course I wanted to see this.
I was actually happy with how realisitc it seemed. Stone managed to be funny without being too harsh (not that I think Bush deserves that) but he also managed to "gp there."
Bits of the dialog were hilarious to me, and Brolin did an excellent job getting the voice and mannerisms down.
Not for everyone, but I really liked it.Hey, you should really see this!
