i grew up on the weird twisted humor of monty python "oh this, it's a mere flesh wound." thank you to the british for sarcasm and bent humor that i know and love.
thank you johnny depp for playing this role, and thank you penelope for showing us what a crazy columbian can do to a drug-fractured $100 million man who supplied most of the cocaine entering the united states in the eighties. three strikes, he was out.
Great frightening film. If you've lived in the third world, this is the type of shit you fear, like getting buried with a tarantula, pursued by mystic demons and other voodoo things to fear. It's based on a true story.
I just saw this on cable where they censor it, which made me take off half a star. I do love this film. Tarantino's dialogue is unstoppable and he can't be blamed for what someone did to his film. I've been living in Europe and the opening scene "it's the little differences" captures an American overseas. Remember the first time you saw this? That's the magic of Tarantino, video droid turned twisted-hit magnet who shocked film-making back awake. This was the movie that turned John Travolta into dated into made it, again. Now you can't wait to see him in films.
love him or hate him, david lynch is at the top of his craft. blue velvet, the frequently lynch appearing kyle maclachlan who was the lead character in frank herbert's redux Dune also by David Lynch.....
incredible television series, this is the prequel. i was living in africa and couldn't get a copy of this, then when living in los angeles finally saw the prequel and it was amazing. david lynch is a master.
I was living in France when I saw it and my friends wouldn't stop talking about. I was entertained but not greatly so....it's a quirky french film, which generally I would like, audrey tautou just bothered me mostly.
