I talk way too much, that's why I can't fit everything I want to say in 1000 characters:D Don't think I'm trying to spam you;)

But to give you an answer on why I'm into Asian Cinema; I don’t have any Asian background or speak any of those languages. I wish I did though, cos it would make it easier when I’m looking for the latest Asian film news;) I don’t know why I’m into Asian pop culture in general. I just do. It started of with the old martial arts films, then I discovered anime and manga, from there I tried some Japanese films and then I worked my way to J-pop and K-pop music. That’s about it in a nutshell. How about you?

Hi William, Jet's character deserved more than that; I hope they tell more about his motifs in a 3rd part. I'm also glad that there a people like me;) PTU gave a good account on how dangerous Hong Kong can be, I agree with you on that. I liked the whole bond of those cops that try to survive another day by any means necessary. Confessions of Pain did get some bad reviews but I’m still curious about it. I like to judge it for myself, especially when there are two actors in it who I admire. I didn’t know that there was a special box set of Wong Kar-Wai’s films. I only knew about the In the Mood for Love & 2046 box set and his other films that have a separate DVD. I'll check it out.

Hi William, I liked Big D was well but he just came over as a 2 dimensional character to me. To made him way over the top, but I guess he made him like that to state the difference between Lok and him. They are the exact opposite of each other; Lok being cold and calculative (the new way of a gangster) and Big D being aggressive and hardly thinking about his actions (the old way of a gangster). The other thing that I enjoyed about both Election films is the amount of detail Johnnie To put to it. For example did you notice that in both movies none of the Triad members use a gun to kill someone? While doing research about the way of the Triad, Johnnie To found out that they get a higher sentence for killing someone with a gun, instead of for example a knife. Another funny fact in Hong Kong is that only the Triad have elections, the rest of the people of Hong Kong don't have any right to vote. Johnnie To put it quite accurately: "Only the Triad practice democracy in Hong Kong."

So far I've only seen two films of Wong Kair-Wai but I'm working on the rest as we speak;) So many great movies such little time.
I've seen 11 films of Johnnie To including PTU during that film festival I was talking about. I did enjoy PTU but left me a bit disappointed. I was expecting something more and in some scenes hardly anything happens. Johnnie To shows in that movie that the cops are as bad as the criminals that they are after. That’s what I liked about it.

Yes, I’m from London and I frequently visit the Chinatown near Piccadilly Circus. They have some shops where you can buy Asian imported DVD’s/VCD’s. Last week I bought there; Confession of Pain (VCD with English subs) with Tony Leung and Takashi Kaneshiro. They also have lots of Toko’s where you can buy practically everything that is unhealthy for ya but just too delicious to ignore.

London is great place to visit but not to live in;) I live here for 2 years now and sometimes I do miss Holland. It's just too hectic b

Hi again, I disagree with you on that point. Jimmy not looking that menacing is what makes him more dangerous then the rest of them. Come on did you expect him chopping off that guy in to pieces and then grinding him up into pulp? He's probable another person when he's with his wife but you could tell in her eyes that she saw his dark side, that time when he asked her to leave. Him loving her doesn't changed that at all. Don't be fooled by his young appearance and his cool attitude. That only works to his advantage. He's the new bread of gangster. The ending was a bit too convenient for my liking as well but hey, if that gives us another part I'm ok with that. I only hope that they focus on Jet more then Jimmy. I know that Nick Cheung is capable of going to the next level with that character; you could see that already in Election when his character is 1st introduced. I was shocked and amused when he was eating that porcelain plate without flinching a muscle. Have you seen him in Exile
