Sex Drive - R So bad, it's good. I'll probably be seeing this at cheap hotels on cable again soon. Unrated version has some funny outtakes, and of course, a lot more naked chicks. May 31, 2009

Terminator Salvation - PG-13 Not as bad as most people say. I found the giant robots intense, and it does leave you caring for the characters. The movie ties in nicely with the first two Terminator movies, and it tickles the question of what is man and what is machine. There are some holes in the flick, but I thought it was fun overall. Hopefully we can see more good things from Moon Bloodgood as well. May 31, 2009

Star Trek - PG-13 Most enjoyable Action / sci-fi flick in recent memory. I haven't had such a good time in the theaters since Iron-Man. Kudos to J.J. Abrams for a fantastic cast and remarkable pacing for this movie. May 31, 2009

Cashback - R This film is dominated by a poor choice of music. If it wasn't that it would have been a fun love-story between an insomniac recovering from a heartbreak with a girl who he works with in a super market. It would do so much better if you had some goofy romantic comedy music you usually find in Adam Sandler flicks or your usual Hugh Grant stuff. If the kid turned out to be a psycho and drug addict, I'd warrant the creepy tunes, but he's just heart-broken; get over it. May 31, 2009

Synecdoche, New York - R Watching this film is like going to the dentist. The film pokes and prods, often infuriating you with scenes that are so emotionally charged with sadness. Nevertheless, you realize that there's something good to come out of it, and there is. The film pushes the boundaries of the movie within a movie aspect, and you're left pleasantly confused. I guess I'm not sure what this movie is really about even in the end, except life, loving, and aging. But what I like most about it is that during the 120 minutes of watching it, I'm totally sucked into Kaufman's world and am able to forget about things I have to do in mine. If you can get through the slowness and repetition in some of the scenes, you will enjoy this film. May 31, 2009

Tekkon kinkreet - R When their town is threatened by a corporation trying to redevelop it into a big theme park, two kids fight back. Shiro (White) and Kuro (Black) are looked as sewer rats, but when their city is in jeopardy they feel like their the only ones doing something to save it. As Kuro becomes more violent and is separated from Shiro, his moral judgment is thoroughly compromised. Will he join the dark side to advance his goals? You'll see. May 7, 2009

Sideways - R A funny movie about a writer, wine tasting, and what goes on for a guy before his wedding. There's love, lust, heart-break, and a whole lot more quips and tips about wine. I'd say it's an indie film, but I don't see why anyone would hate this one. May 7, 2009

Gran Torino - R You're going to have to get through the racial slurs, that will turn you off. But remember this, he's a crazy war vet. How would you like it when all your neighbors started leaving and a whole slew of new ones came in that were of another race? Watching Eastwood's character slowly accept the good and bad side of his Hmong neighbors was enjoyable and engaging. May 7, 2009

Bangkok Dangerous - R Seems like a movie of the week kind of deal, but I like it because of my bias for hitman movies. It's a cult, we all want to be hitmen but we all just slave away at our desk jobs in corporations. I like the rules that he had and the training of the Thai youngster, but a unexciting ending made it sour. May 7, 2009

Religulous - R Confrontational as always, Bill Maher goes around the world trying to get religious fanatics to take a closer look at their religions. Is it doing good for the people or just his or her personal gain? Some funny stuff and highly watchable on a Sunday morning. May 7, 2009
