Not as good as the first one, but I find some entertainment in their game of calvin ball. It's just the type of movie that you'd enjoy in a hotel room after a long day of walking around a new city.
Cult classic that still holds up today. I find it more refreshing than many of the horror movies out now. It's gruesome, it's graphic, and it's absolute grindhouse!
I think this one is too little and too late for what it is. While the first three Indy movies were incredulous with the story, this one is just over-the-top. It's entertaining, but I can't remember anything substantial about it.
As formulaic romantic comedies goes, this one sticks to the beat. Some quirky moments about New Yorkers and wedding goers make this one a recommendation for your rental list.
The story was good and so was the dialogue. The problem was Olyphant's delivery of the lines. They needed someone more sinister and threatening, like Clive Owen or Javier Bardem.
Destined to be a fan favorite (and left at the $5.00 bins), Aqua Team has the best opening sequence for movies in the last couple of years. The rest of the movie? Not so good.
Another Kurt Russell and John Carpenter combo. It's loaded with gore and horror, but the most interesting part is the interogation session that looks at the human nature of fear and betrayal.
For what's out there, this is funny; just not as funny as the first one. You just lose track of what they're doing after awhile. They are a bit excessive with nudity also.
This movie has more killing than all the other Rambo movies combined. And with that, it just feels too over-the-top to watch again. Fun for a body-count night with chips and beer though.
The casting was great and on the money, but I just didn't find it too interesting being away from disney films for so many years. I'm sure it would be fun for kids and fairy-tale lovers. One thing I have to commend disney on was that the film basically made fun of disney itself, which is long overdue.
Highly unlikely, but it does make you feel good in the end. A great performance for Catherine Z. Jones in this one. After the movie, it felt like I was in an airport terminal for hours on end also.
I have to say that this is a necessary film for film students of sci-fi and horror genre. Highly copied and paid homage to, Aliens, started a wave of space-marines vs. insect-like invaders movies. I see a lot of influence from this movie in Starcraft also; fun stuff.
While most scenes were too slow for me rewatching it in 2008, I realize that it must have been quite spectacular in 1979. One thing I noticed, they smoke in the space ship - if that's not a token for 80's films, I don't know what is.
A throw-back to horror movies in the 70's, where there is a social commentary and some literary devices at play - and in this case, irony. The horror aspect was less appealing than the juicy human interaction parts that we see displayed in this film. People hated the ending, but I think it was meant to shock. There are a lot of "what if's" and "i would have's", but just ask yourself, when was the last time you had this much time talking about a movie? It's already successful enough. Fun stuff to me.
It is been a great movie if they didn't add the hollywood ending to it. While there are some good moments about the methods of counting cards and the ways power and money can corrupt a college student, the movie falls flat because it tries to do too much with other story lines.
Superb! This movie grips you from the very beginning (arguably the most interesting opening sequence in 2007) and doesn't let go until the 100 minutes are up. Your emotions are invested in Michael Clayton, who's just trying to make sense of his life, his profession, his niche, and ultimately the mess that his company has left him with. This movie is a genuine suspense ride and proof that Tony Gilroy knows his stuff.
If you thought Jumper is a graphically intense thrill ride with a loose story about kids gaining powers, directed by Doug Liman - you're absolutely right! Saw it at a drive-in, so it was a new and refreshing experience for me.
I'm at odds with this movie. It contains likable characters, an intriguing story, and thrilling moments that keeps you guessing, but if you took away the Saudi-Arabian background, I feel that it would just be fluff. Great movie to just watch on a Saturday evening I guess. The political message in it is way too obscured, I'm pretty sure they're trying to bring Muslims into amicable terms, but there just too many smear images about them too. Have fun with the movie, that's all I say.
