Zero Day
I appreciate when documentaries take on the more gritty paths, and in contrast to the more cinematic Elephant etc, they're definitely effective doing that with Zero Day.

Dawn of the Dead
Nothing compares to the original, right? Here we have zombie mania at it's best, complete with the stumbling living dead and overplayed unbelievable characters. And how could we not love a movie whose first half consists of people looting a mall? It's a definite dream of mine, zombies included.

Hostel: Part II
I gave in and downloaded it before the release, and (to my surprise) it exceeded my expectations. We get to see far more individual set-ups in the torture rooms, and there are a few excellent miniature plot twists throughout the film. There are some very awesome/ridiculous special effects/prosthetics, and both Lauren German [Beth] and Roger Bart [Stuart] were fucking amazing. There's no lack of the usual crude humor and strategically placed innuendo. I'm hoping that this one will attract a larger audience than the first installment managed even though according to Eli, there will be no more sequels. Overall, I think I may have actually enjoyed it more than the original, and that's saying something coming from an Eli Roth enthusiast.
