Tim Robbins has always been a favorite actor of mine. I blame TBS for their constant running of The Shawshank Redemption. Who hasn't stayed in on a Sunday to watch that movie back to back to back? I was intrigued to finally see the movie that inspired the most bizarre video game I had ever played, "Silent Hill". Just like his more commercially succesful role in The Shawshank Redemption, Robbins tackles a character that many in our society would rather forget. Instead of playing an innocent man behind bars, Robbins is a delusional Vietnam Vet. He shines in this dark role. The visuals are terrifying. I highly recommend watching this movie in the dark.
Moulin Rouge!
PG-13
Nicole Kidman deserved an Oscar for this film. The love story of the courtesan Satine and Christian, a penniless writer, will haunt you. I absolutely loved the film being set during the idealistic Bohemian Revolution. Who doesn't want to live for truth, beauty, freedom, and love? By far, this is Baz Lehrman's best work.
