Tsunami: The Aftermath
by OviI've always thought that HBO makes some great movies, usually with very original storylines that are sometimes based on real facts and strong characters, very expressive and good skilled.
Well Tsunami:The Aftermath is nothing far from it. It shows us pretty intensely, the effects of a tsunami and it's consequences in a 3rd world country but wheretourism is highly looked upon. It also debates many other aspects, like the probability of this tsunami to have been made artificially, for the interest of rebuidling in short for development and money, and we all know that this sort of technology exists. A short example: "But why are the palm trees still standing" a biting question of Nick Fraser (Tim Roth) a journalist asking Ellen (Kate Askfield) a representative of a major Hotel company, looking to rebuild after the aftermath. Another aspect of this is the drama and the suffering of different individuals and their pain and nastyness of paperwork and the allpresent birocracy. But there's always hope and help wothin the human soul (so i've heard), and we can see that thru the whole movie.
A very good movie, I much enjoyed with my family, maybe a bit too long for my taste but unique nonetheless. 9/10. I recommend it. Do what you will:))lol1posted 549 days ago -

10,000 B.C.
by OviI really don't understand why i've heard so many times that this movie is somewhat crappy. Hell no!!! It rocks. My opinion is that any movie concerning past times, civilisations that are no longer among us and living creatures that are known to us only as stains in our mind, has deffinetly got to be a good movie.
The story starts with a small peaceful tribe that comes under the attack of a much bigger, stronger and more advanced civilisation. I couldn't help not noticing quite a few resemblencies with Apocalypto. Of course this movie is not nearly as good as that, but deffinetly worth the while or at least a thoroughly look. A very intriguing story with strongly built characters, love, prophecies and the always predictable of a new hero, a hunter, a warrior that would lead everybody to a more prosper living. It's great, interesting, worth the while. Enjoy!!posted 549 days ago -

Jumper
by OviThis is a movie for the "adrenaline junkie". Everything happens so fast thru the whole movie and combining that with sfx, a cool story and good acting you get this visual treat.
The story itself is not too complicated but in order for a movie to keep the rhytm high, i guess the story has to be kept pretty simple.
Nice to see Hayden again, though thoughts vary a lot about his acting skills, i think he's a good actor, and also a very different look and character profile on Samuel L. Jackson. Many beautiful sights all over the world with a fast pace to it, deffinetly not boring. Reviews i've received from you guys for this movie have all been very different, so here's mine. Cool movie. Enjoy:Dposted 549 days ago -

The Invincible Iron Man
by OviFrom the series of Superman Doomsday or Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme, comes yet another great animated movie with one of the greatest superheroes out there. I'm so glad i got to see Iron Man again in animation kicking ass again in more than justone of his amazing exoskeleton suits. I'm a sucker for this movies, they come like a treat to me. The birth of a character as powerfull as Iron Man is always a big deal. The story revolves around his old arch enemy, The Mandarin and his revival, but that's all you're squeezing out of me. I'll let you find out for yourselves. An awesome storyline with of course great sfx and some cool tunes make this animated movie a treat. At least that's how i felt like.....i'll leave the rest to you. Have fun:D

The Forbidden Kingdom
by OviI've always liked movies with lots of martial arts but this one is visually delightful. OMG i don't even know where to start, so i'll just say WOW. This movie has got pretty much of everything and every age. Movies with lots of fantasy, action and comedy are pretty liked cuz it gives us so much more than any other average single type movie. Jackie Chan is back again and made me laugh quite a few times and Jet Li another martial arts expert, teams up with Jackie Chan's character Lu Yan (a "drunk" immortal) and a modern day boy Michael Angarano, a boy that's fond of Kung Fu movies and characters, and it turns up that he's the one to deliver the magic staff to The imprisoned in stone Monkey King (again Jet Li). An incredible journey,a wonderful adventure, lots of breathtaking various fighting techniques and scenes, great sfx, and a very original story that always keeps you intrigued. One movie that shouldn't be missed, especially if you're the adventurous type...or not, whatever. ENJOY:D it really is great:D

Take the Lead
by OviA very good ballroom dancer - teacher played by Antonio Banderas wants to make something out of nothing, well almost nothing, and since troubled or misunderstood teenagers are difficult to begin with he's in for some ruff times. Well anyways unlike other so many movies that involve dancing this is one of them that has a very good story attached to it, very good dancing and different styles and each of the characters have their own sad or dark story, and thanks to their new teacher Pierre their lives will change. A pretty enjoyable movie with lots of new blood and pottential and one great actors i really respect and admire, Antonio Banderas. ENJOY:D

I recommend you see...This movie is really impressive. It grabs you until the very ending moments of the movie which are also, actually the most important moments.
The story has a very good structure. Although the writer inserted many subjects like World War II, forbidden sexual relations, conflicts between generations and German prisons, the story always holds its main axis and do not wandering around.
Casting is brilliant and you can find some of the best European performances in this movie.
Camera and directing are acceptable but I have problems with its editing. The rhythm is some how slow (like many other European films) and it asks for your patient to tell the story.
Anyway, in my opinion, this movie is one the best in its genre.posted 599 days ago -

The Bank Job
by OviI gotta hand it to you this movie is not your average typical robbery movie, cuz in the '70s robbers were not actually so clever as nowadays or maybe they just lacked the technology, but anyways the movie feels nice for a change. Nothing too sophisticated that might endanger that '70s smell and plenty of detail and interest that give it that '70s alure (i know maybe im not totally qualified to compare '70 movies cuz it's waayy before i was born but i've seen quite a few of the old movies so i get what one should feel like). The actors with english accent rock, i mean i love that accent it deffinetly makes a difference. The story is not complicated at all, your typical extorsion, stealing, killing, fucking sons of bitches and a few guys that get caught in a trap while they try to do the "job" of their lives. Well anyways it's one that's worth checking out. Have fun, whatever:))!!!

The New World
by OviI can't believe i've missed this movie. Caught it on one of the local tv networks and i'm glad i did. The story begins in the early times with the English colonization of North America, a captain named John Smith (Colin Farrell), falls in love with the native king's daughter Pocahontas, a very beautiful and young woman that falls in love with him also. He gets to see what kind of people the natives are, the kind that know no envy, no greed, no anger that just want to be left alone on their peaceful lands but the English have other plans. A very beautiful adventure, action and romantic movie that has a lot of pottential, everything so realistic with a slow pace yet not boring at all, on the contrary quite very exciting and complex.
A cast with some great actors, actually acting is great all around in this one, as fo the special effects, yes there are present but this movie is absolutely not about that (just thought to mention that for those of you wondering), so deffinetly this one should not be missed. ENJOY!:Dposted 605 days ago -

Cloverfield
by OviOne very exquisite movie. A monster attack from an amateur cameraman's point of view, very exciting, but still predictable. Truly looks a lot like Godzilla and many other details from War of the Worlds, especially the sounds, but it's unique nonetheless. The acting is very good, very realistic like, a good idea keeping the suspense almost near the end, not too long so that you can get bored and yet not too short to be able to tell a decent story. OK, about the creature, i don't think i've ever seen a creature like that before in any movie (that's just me), i like it, it KICKS A$$!!! It has a few gory parts, but even though it's predictable, the suspense is always there, and i think that's pretty rare these days. Of course the sfx are top notch and plenty of action + chaos. Anyways deffinetly a movie that needs your attention.

Lars and the Real Girl
by OviThis movie has one of the best performances i've seen in quite a few movies lately. Similar to Ryan Gosling's character in the movie Stay, this character Lars is also leaving in a fantasy world well more exactly in a surreal one. Lars is dillusional and contrary as how it might sound, that's a good thing because most of the people having this disease or better yet "phase" in life get to solve their issues thru some very unconventional ways that might very much surprise others. In this movie Lars is very lucky because he is surrounded by love and friends that are willing to accept anything just for his sake. I could go on but i'd spoil it for you. Actually i think i already did. Sorry:)). Anywayz, the performance of the actors in this movie is amazing, really really good, Gosling caught my eye with the movie Stay but after watching his acting in this one, i can deffinetly say that he's a great actor. Very different movie, it is kinda slow but the story is deep and that's what makes a good movie, enough to keep you seated. Have fun, 'cuz i mean it is also a comedy among others.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
by OviI've finally got to see this and just let me say this, IT AIN'T CRAP! Actually it's probably Uwe Boll's best movie so far, i actually think he might be improving or maybe this is his actual style of acting. I don't know where he got all the funds for so many great actors and i don't care. Without them this movie would've really been crap. But a bunch of actors like Ray Liotta, Jason Statham, Burt Reynolds, Ron Perlman and many others, add a pretty interesting story, even small elements of the pc game Dungeon Siege itself like the dryads (tree ladies:P), some breath taking scenery, and you get this enjoyable movie, well i enjoyed it mostly at the end cuz it has a slow pace, and i felt rather bored the first hour or so. There are many controversies on this movie but take my advice and don't listen to ANY. Watch it for yourself and then judge. Well the point is, i liked it but if there won't be a sequel i won't watch it again. LOL. I really hope the movie Far Cry after another video game won't turn into a fuckero, we'll just have to see, but i deffinetly think that Uwe Boll needs some major changes to his skills as a director. ENJOY.....or not, whatever:D

Galaxy Quest
by OviHaven't seen this movie since i was 14. It's still interesting, probably most of you all have seen it. It's the story of a team of former actors of one of the most popular tv series that ended years ago and now they are left with their fans and with each other's boring lives day by day. Until they really will go to space and act as brave as they did in the tv show. Interesting adventure, action movie, with a pretty good story and lots of friendly faces. Deffinetly one to check out provided you haven't seen it.

Proof
by OviNot sure what to say about this movie, it's pretty interesting in it's very own mixed up way. This one combines both past and present, and it revolves around a supposedly mentally challenged father (Anthony Hopkins) who was a brilliant mathematician and his daughter (Gwyneth Paltrow) who aparently inherits his mathematical skills and passion for the numbers. Just add Jake Gyllenhaal to the story and you get this very entertaining movie. ENJOY
