Inglourious Basterds

What performance from Christoph Waltz! Perfect combination of suave dialog and delivery. Without losing his wacky brutality and humour, Tarantino has matured with elegance. The first 15 minutes of prologue is a materpiece of its own - the music, the suspense, the acting, the camera movements - it's immortal!

Within 5 minutes you know all the characters and foresee every detail to the end - from other films you've seen, especially the Disney ones. The special effect is awesome but SUCH dull story and performance! This film contains the worst stereotypes of destined hero, tribal myths, Caucasian saviours, women, assimilation, evil modernisation, love story, and, yes, music score. Undeniably some scenes are pretty to look at, but a film is more than mere visual stimulation, especially such a bloody long one!

The VERY BEST movie of all time. Makes you want to drop everything and become a film maker. So much passion told in a light, almost matter-of-fact way. Only Truffaut.
