    I did remember that about the locals I interacted with. They were a bit reserved. One memory I had was the absolute gorgeous ladies who cleaned our barracks during the day. I worked at night, and slept during the day. Iwoke up one late morning and saw a lovely woman cleaning the barracks. I thought "If this is how the lower classes look...I can only dream about the upper classes!"

    Went there while in the Air Force. We staged a war game senario for about 3 weeks. Got a feel for the climate and the people. The people were freinly and the countrysde was gorgeous.

    I think the town was 'Gesshiem' near Gardemon air base. It was bck in 1978 I think. Lovely country. Stunningly beautiful.
