The Lake House - PG I like romantic movies but this one just does not work for me. keanu and Sandra have a nice on screen chemistry but that does not save this movie. It plods along at a mind numbing pace and the script is just plain boring. Also why do they not seem bothered that they are sending time traveling letters..surely a person would be a little surprised at that!!
If you want a quality romantic movie with a decent storyline look no further than The Notebook...The lake House is just 'ok' for me..

Night at the Museum - PG I was not expecting big things from this movie, but was pleasantly surprised by this film. Its storyline is simple and uncomplicated but thats what makes it so enjoyable. A storyline does not have to be complicated to work. Night At The Museum reminds me of the classic 80's/early 90's family films..Lots of fun and not taking itself too seriously. The comedy moments are just enough and the CGI is great...Grab the popcorn and sit down with the kids and enjoy!! October 8, 2007

Superman - PG My all time favourite superhero. Christopher Reeves will always represent Superman to me.
A family adventure really does not get much better than this!

X-Men: The Last Stand - PG-13 Most reviews say this third film is the weakest of all three. For me this was the strongest of the three.
The character of wolverine is given a more prominant role in this one and this gives it a new edge. The character of cyclops 'disappears' before the film has really began to pick up pace.....For me this is a good thing. I never thought much of his weak character anyway.
The action sequences and effects are stunning and I love that there are lots more characters this time around to 'beef' things up.
The only character that I dont really like is Storm. Halle Berry just doesnt seem to fit this role in my opinion. A less unknown actress may have worked better here....
All in all a great, roller coster ride of a movie......

Saw III - R Third film of the Saw series of horror movies with a clever twist... But is also the weakest in my opinion. What made the first two films so great, the unexpected twists and bloody gore are over-used and old news in this third installment.
The first sickening gory 20 minutes or so had no relevance to the rest of the movie and could have been left out. What follows is an interesting but so easy to guess storyline. This third film seemed to be centred more around stomach churning scenes of torture than actually providing us with a decent storyline. As in previous movies the twists are there again, but this time predictable.
However, it is watchable, and for fans of the previous movies does explain the background of Jigsaw and his motives.
I just wish they would stop there..I feel these movies have run their course now. But it seems a fourth film is being released soon...I will watch this new one on dvd at some point, but am not looking to be blown away....

Transformers - PG-13 After hearing so many people rating this film highly I watched expecting to be blown away...But alas, that did not happen...
The film starts off in the loud over dramatic Michael Bay way....Then spirals downwards into what I can only describe as an hour and a half of cheesy acting, and dialogue..I was bored! During this time I found myself checking my watch several times..wondering when the 'amazing film' I was expecting was going to happen.
Then suddenly the Transformers appeared and it seemed to pick up pace a bit. The action sequences were really amazing to watch. The transformers transforming is some of the best CGI I have ever seen...period! But these sequences were also baffling. The camera work was all over the place, and I found myself becoming confused as to who was fighting who. In the end I didnt care because I just wanted to see the transformers transforming....
In my opinion Transformers is a grossly overrated film.....The cheesy dialogue is awful and unfunny. The storyline is passable. The action sequences are a jumbled mess. and the musical score sounded like it belonged to a different film..The only saving grace..and earning my 2 1/2 stars are the amazing special effects.....
