Somersault - Unrated (aussie indy movie) not sure how to rate this but I?ll at least give you the plot? short form? New experiences help a young girl learn the differences between sex and love I guess you could call it a ?dreamers? movie but not sure how I would define that. ?heidi? I would call somewhat a dreamer or at least creative keeping a journal of sorts by ripping pictures etc out of mags, & gluing them in there plus writing whatever next to it. Meets Joe (sam Worthinton at a bar) but typical guy doesn?t know what he wants (do I like her or not blah blah) and although it?s a ?foreign? movie at least you won?t need subtitles! An Artsy movie as well with some of the scenes etc. mostly ?drab? colors of beiges greens etc w/ some red every so often.. C December 23, 2009

The Final Destination - R 3-d.. this oneis going to be SICK!

apparently not as sick as the 2nd one would have been in 3-d. (read about ending don't worry I don't ruin what happens._

Ready Race fans? Start your engines & buckle in, check the foundations around you & enjoy the excitement, but remember if you get a premonition? Just GET OUT!~ LOL. That was cool! But unlike the first 2 movies I so wan not paranoid so therefore that takes away points! However there was a bit of gore. In the Mall.. remote control car, just creepy! The ending?.well was a little disappointed. Of course the penultimate & well?.I won?t ruin it but it could have been a lot more gory. The 3-d effects part was cool &

In ref. to that ' will be sick' well It would have been but then I guess they couldn?t make the ending ?better? because of the 3-d budget.. but the ending would have been the best of the 3-d if it remained ?normal? (& WOULD have been absolutely SICK! if they had left it... it WAS in your face but

but I did like the thrill & boy are parts in your face?. However unlike the first 2 I can?t remember the deaths as well. I guess a b- (because it didn't give me that paranoia alertness the 1st 2 movies gave me & 2. the ending the way they did it, ruined MY fun anyway...

Avatar - PG-13 IS there any possibility there's an actual planet like Pandora somewhere? I WOULD really like to go there!!

Sam Worthington plays Jake Sully (lol has same last name as my cat? just gives me the chuckles) a Brawny former Marine who?s lost the use of his legs in an accident or battle on earth & is suppose to search the Na?vi with scientist Dr. Grace Augustine (Susan Sarandon) a botanist & fellow Avatar. Jake secretly falls in with Col. Miles Quaritch played by Stephen Lang (or however its spelled..let?s leave it at Scratch face cause it looks like Krueger got him) who reminds me of the shop stupid at work!! So yes I so did not care for his brash self.
I may have been born in the 70s when Star Wars was the new movie technology etc... but to me THIS movie is MY Star Wars... Was a nice story even w/ the political aspect but I don't pay attention to 'messages?' in movies & tv.... I watch them for the story itself to get away from reality. To me movies & books were made for fantasy stories to get away from whatever your problems are. Avatar did just that. I may not be an astronaut BUT I got to travel to a beautiful new planet & was floored w/ the 'night life' on Pandora & although alot of the creatures are familiar to ours maybe just mutated looking versions. 3 hours was fine for me. (well worth the $15 anything less than the 2hr 45 minutes would have pissed me off! Giovanni Rimbisi to me looks wrong as a weasely corporate schmo (maybe it?s the baby face?) trying by any means to please investors to get the ?unobtainium?,the mineral ?the Resources Developmental Administration (kind of a military contractor) need to extract for the year 2154 resource poor earth. Then u=you have Gung-Ho military butt-head Col Scratch face who WILL get it at ANY cost & considers Pandora to being WORSE than Hell. Between the two..they aim to do to Pandora what to an extent has already been done to our earth. (I was definitely not on earth while watching this eye candy that goes for the movie but a little for Worthington as well?) Better be in same 3-d format for blu-ray or dvd not that red & blue glasses crap (like w/ journey to center of the earth that you see pretty much everything that?s even brown as blue or red.) Hope to see it in Imax as well. as Jake Sully says 2-3 times in the movie OUTSTANDING. although at times the dialogue is a little lame (could you think of more original names for the 'banshee' (were those the 'horses, or small flying 'dragons' & the Scorpion ( which are the helicopters) & anyone recognize that the Turok (?)looks like a phoenix including the colors? A
for a beautiful Fantasy sci-fi action adventure

State of Play - PG-13 UGH!!! I tried watching it, but just could not sit still. This is the one where Ben Affleck plays a polititian & Russel Crowe in all his grunting or mumbling playing a Reporter for the Washinton Globe. The rest of the story is quite foggy because either mom had to be making noise or the stupid sound would sound like it was fading. (the noise fx were fine but for some reason on our tv w/ the bluray?I have to pump up the volume to hear the people talk. Not sure if I ordered this one for me or dad but I gave up on watching it about ½ way through & I don?t usually do that. Instead I was checking off my video movie library inventory. The Ultimate Gift - PG A Charming movie about a rich brat who?s gramps puts his shallow ass in place by putting him through a series of tasks that if he finishes them all, he will receive ?The Ultimate Gift? are you thinking it?s the inheritance? Or is it something else? Oh yeah keep hankies at hand just in case there is a Kleenex moment or 2 B December 20, 2009

Ghost Town - PG-13 stars Ricky Gervais as a dentist that?s a miserable prick likes being around people less than me! Dies for a bit during a procedure & can see Ghosts.. LOL according to the movie.. when you sneeze, that?s when a Ghost passes through you. (& damn I was doing that alont on the 17th!) not really good but a few parts gave me a laugh otherwise kinda was ho hum.. December 17, 2009

The Stepfather - R This is the older one From 1986 I?m sure this one is much better than the one that was in the theaters on October was (although opted to watch this instead of going to see the other one). Terry O?Quinn plays a man that you could call a Black Widow... When he gets sick of his family he offs them, finds a new family along w/ changing his name However his latest gig may be up when the stepdaughter see?s him in a fit December 17, 2009

Shorts (Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock) - PG kids movie. Cute, fun. There?s 3-4 mini stories that tie into the main plot about this rainbow wishing rock. Each child takes their turn with it whether it be a castle, a backwards wish that makes a booger (lol) come to life. Plus a wish that?s memorable from a commercial..some sibling rivalry etc. Comedy ?adventure? & thensome. December 13, 2009
