Surreal, violent, very sick and so much scary, so many terms comes to mind after see a jewel like this one.
This is the most easy film to folow unlike El Topo and The Holy Mountain, even the crazy situations are justified for a very specific situation about the main protagonist (Son of Jodorowsky of course). The master just can't do it a bad movie, i love the soundtrack too: "Adios, ya me voooy"... |

Posiblemente Carlos Enrique Taboada era el único director mexicano que realmente sabía cómo dirigir una obra de terror.
Pero no te confundas, esta cinta, al igual que Hasta El Viento Tiene Miedo su punto fuerte no es el miedo que pudiera provocar, lo realmente destacable es la magnífica atmósfera gótica que estas cintas desprenden, tan bien logradas que te sumergen en la historia y te engancha hasta el final. Qué triste que el cine mexicano actual no pueda ni siquiera igualar la calidad que esta película desprendía en la década de los 60. Y no, no hablaré del remake. |

Is cool to see how Takashi Miike still can make great movies always with his particular humor.
I feel this more commercial, more to all public than any of his past works but oh well, the movie kick ass, even with a great number of characters, Miike knows very well how to develop everybody, and give an important roll to each one, because, nobody appears in the movie without a good reason. I can't miss the chance of talk about the fight sequences, what a big fucking great fights! Violence is the second name, make you wish destroy your own schooll, lol. And of course, excellent soundtrack, very catchy. |
