Juno - PG-13 One of the cutest realistic teenage movies I've ever seen. Funny, great writing, great dialogue and great performance from Ellen Page. January 16, 2008

The Golden Compass - PG-13 So-so movie. Like the book, it started pretty slow. But unlike the book, it really didn't picked up that much. Movie felt choppy and rushed. Still love Iorek though. And Pan. Love the fight between the polar bears. But like any other book-to-movie adaptation, I'd rather you stick to the book.

And for those thinking that the movie will also depict Pullman's aethistic tendencies, there were really no mention of religion and God in this.

A Very Long Engagement (Un long dimanche de fiançailles) - R One of the few romantic war films that I really liked. A bit long but then it brings you to understand more about Mathilde's feelings. Ending was bittersweet yet romantic. November 26, 2007

Enchanted - PG Funny, sweet family Disney flick that pokes fun at the different fairy tales. Soundtrack was great and Amy Adams' ditzy princess and James Marsden's dumb, clueless prince were hilarious. These two should do more musicals. Together or not, they sound great. November 26, 2007

The Nanny Diaries - PG-13 November 17, 2007

What a Girl Wants - PG Teen flick with a lot of cheese. But it is Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth. So it was fun. Though it really isn't that bad, I'd prefer to watch She's The Man over and over. November 15, 2007

Beowulf - PG-13 A delightful eyecandy. Not stunning really since I've seen better animation. But the battle scenes were great. It brought back my memories of high school literature. Only they Hollywood-ized it. Technically, the first few battles were the only original one but then this is Hollywood. November 13, 2007

Shaun of the Dead - R October 24, 2007

Hot Fuzz - R Buddy cop movie the way it should be. Movie started out slow but the final fight scene was worth it. Guns, knives, explosions, old men and ladies toting a shotgun. What else could I ask for. More Simon Pegg, maybe? October 23, 2007

The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising - PG Christopher Eccleston was the saving grace for this one. Or maybe because I love him as Doctor Who and am biased. Plot was predictable. Might be enjoyed by kids, though. *shrugs* October 23, 2007

Sky High - PG It was a light fun family superhero movie. Plot was pretty predictable though. Steven Straight was hot. October 22, 2007

Paris Je T'aime - R A collection of short movies, some I found amusing, silly, sweet, weird, heartbreaking and even cheezy. Done by a variety of directors so you wouldn't know what you'll get next. October 18, 2007

Hannibal Rising - R Seriously, great performance from Gaspard Ulliel as Hannibal. He portrayed creepy well. The voice, the look, the smirk. Good movie giving us a background on the origins of Hannibal. October 18, 2007
