1
The Fifth Element (1997,  PG-13)
The Fifth Element
One of my all time favourite films.
Great SFX, great actors, great costume design and great music.
2
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980,  PG)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back
My favourite of the Star Wars saga. We see Luke starting to become a full on Jedi, Han uses a lightsaber, Leia finally gets it on with Han and of course who could forget Lando.
"The force is with you, young Skywalker... but you are not a Jedi yet."
3
The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
4
Serenity (2005,  PG-13)
Serenity
Was loads better than I expected. Great Sci-Fi. Now that I've seen all of Firefly, this makes even more sense and is that much more enjoyable. Love the action, love the camera work, love the acting, love the witty script.
5
The Incredibles (2004,  PG)
The Incredibles
Simply the best computer animated movie to date. Not just because of the breathtaking scenery and effects, but for the story and family values presented too. My favourite Pixar film. The score is fantastic and the credits are the best I've ever seen in a movie.
6
X2 (2003,  PG-13)
X2
Brian Cox and Hugh Jackman do a fine performance here. This one has a bigger and better plot than the first. And I love the Special FX; better than ILM in my opinion.
7
Galaxy Quest (1999,  PG)
Galaxy Quest
Brilliantly done. A comedy to parody Star Trek and the like, while easily standing on its own two feet. The casting couldn't have been better.
8
The Princess Bride (1987,  PG)
The Princess Bride
Absolute classic.
All round excellent film.
"Anybody want a peanut?"
9
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005,  PG-13)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Better script than the first two prequels. Some flaws, but I loved the duels.
10
Ratatouille (2007,  G)
Ratatouille
Absolutely fantastic. A sheer work of art in so many ways. The script was excellent, the score superb. The voice acting was perfect and the character animation is the best I've seen so far... you actually forget you're watching an animated film. I have to say, I'm loving Michael Giacchino's work, he's fast becoming one of my favourite composers.
11
Mystery Men (1999,  PG-13)
Mystery Men
One of my favourite Geoffrey Rush roles. Great super-hero comedy.
12
Ocean's Eleven (2001,  PG-13)
Ocean's Eleven
This truly is Coolness Personified. The music, the outfits, the actors, the camera work: all fantastic.
13
The Matrix (1999,  R)
The Matrix
Excellent. Ground-breaking in so many ways. Always enjoyable to watch.
