This is my random Flixter account. It's fun chatting with people and getting to know them, so feel free to message me O_o ...
Notes: DO NOT POST chain letters, and DO NOT add me as a friend unless you plan to have interesting (and hopefully entertaining) conversations, please. If you say "hi" eighty thousand times over and over again, you're in for it ; ) ... I like movies. I like movies that are worth my time. You know Napoleon Dynamite of course. When I saw that, I turned to my sister and said, "That's 2 hours of my life that I will NEVER get back." Not to say I don't like stupid, ridiculus movies -- if they are actually funny. If they're just retarded, forget it. I really like thrillers (i.e., The Butterfly Effect, Mr. Brooks, etc.) and a lot of action movies. Romances and romantic comedies can be really cute, but they can also be boring and repetetive of storylines. Although, i suppose that can be said for a lot of different genres... Anyway, feel free to recommend good movies. I'll probably send you a recommendation every once in while =) |

WALL-E
G
Perfection.
700 years ago, the world was abandoned because it became so grossly pollutred with garbage that it killed all plant life, cutting off oxygem.
Our race left behind an army of WALL-E robots, designed to collect and compact garbage and relocate it to a site.
But now, there is only one WALL-E left in the whole world after this long. He and his friend, the cockroach, live in a storage container, where WALL-E has collected his favorite human treasures. WALL-E is lonesome for someone to love... but never in his wildest dreams would he expect to meet someone he could!
EVE is sent to the planet by automatic probe from the humans' space domain to search the planet for something. But what? And if she finds it, what will happen to WALL-E's new interest? Will she leave him forever?
A wonderful sotry with an extended storyline and animation that totally rocks. Every detail is perfect, and no heights were spared.
Absolutely recommended. Yes, even you guys.
The Bucket List
PG-13
Cater Chambers [Freeman]: an old, married mechanic who spends months undergoing chemo and experimental, hospital-binding treatments after he finds out, by surprise, that he's got cancer.
Edward Cole -- an old, unmarried, wealthy hospital owner who coughs up blood in the middle of a jackassish speech defending his hospital policy of 'two beds per room, no exceptions' in court, landing himself in bed number two of Carter's room.
As a fluke, the two oddly paired roomies begin writing "The Bucket List" -- a list of things they want to accomplish before they kick the bucket. But then, Mr. Wealthy drags Mr. Married-and-Bored-to-Death (oh, haha) into a real adventure to do all these great things.
A comedy, yes, but a serious story too. Somehow the two qualities collide in a very artful way. And although it's a story about two old men in their last legs of life, it's something that you can enjoy, no matter your age. Freeman and Nicholson are fabulously fatastic, as always.
It makes one sad to see the movie and realize that these two amazing actors really are this old. How many more spectacular masterpieces can we enjoy from them?
I'm sorry -- that's what this movie'll do to you.
Gridiron Gang
PG-13
A well-made, for-the-heart, victory-over-the-forces-of-evil flick about gang members in juvie who are given a second chance when the ambition of their detention officer, Sean Porter [Dwayne Johnson], leads him to teach them discipline and a new kind of brotherhood by establishing a football team. (how's that for a run-on sentence, eh?)
Well-acted, and fairly well-written, with the exception of a few awkwardly-worded lines here and there for Johnson. Very long by today's 90-minutes-or-less standard, with several rousing scenes of full-on football action.
Mr. Brooks
R
Excellent, pure and simple.
I have to say that Dances with Wolves really wasn't my flavor, and hearing Costner's monotone narration for hours on end really put him on my bad side. This movie changes that completely.
Costner plays a well-loved and socially high-up business owner in the city, with a wonderful wife and loving daughter. Who knew that he had a second personality?
Hurt plays Mr. Brooks' alter ego -- his murderous self. Both personalities are fully aware of each other, and interact as two people in a conversation. Both exist in the front of the mind -- but Mr. Brooks is the pupet for the will of the murderer within.
Highly original and well-played.
very recommended.
10,000 B.C.
PG-13
Not at all what I expected, but enjoyable nonetheless. A small ancient tribe (which conveniently speaks English...) is told by the eldest woman, a psychic of sorts, that the small girl with electric-blue eyes their hunters have captured from a strange tribe will be a part of the coming revelation, in which the tribe will be forced to face "4-legged demons". A young boy of this tribe falls in love with the strange girl, who grows as a member of the community. When they are grown, the revelation comes to pass and most of the tribe is captured by the "demons" -- including the girl, who is taken by the leader to be his personal prize. Her love and a couple of fellow hunters who were not captured go on a mission to save the blue-eyed girl and their family, at the bidding of the psychic elder. Their journey leads them to meet new peoples they never knew existed, and to overthrow a diety in a strange city where the prisoners have been taken.
A great adventure... I was tired as hell when i saw it in the theater, so to me it seemed to last for hours and hours. Though I didn't expect a love story, that's what I got.
The Others
PG-13
A classicly well-made film. All actors here give a very well-done performance, and the cast fits well together.
The storyline is about a family of four Englishpeople, two of which are young chlidren, who have moved into a very grand old home on a lovely section of country in Britain, just outside of a small town. The father, Charles [Christopher Eccleston], goes off to war (WWII), leaving his young wife and photosensitive chlidren -- who will die if exposed to direct sunlight for too long -- behind.
One day, the servants vanish from the house, leaving Grace [Nicole Kidman] mindboggled. She plans to put out an add for help, but a band of three caretakers arrives "on the offchance" that service might be needed. She hires the three, and they become her company.
Grace is very, very stern with the help, however, as well as her children. She is a very firm Christian who takes the Bible for literal in every way, so when her daughter, Anne [Mann], begins to speak of ghosts and intruders within the house, Grace will have no mercy for such blasphemous lies.
But what will happen when Grace is personally acquainted with unexplainable happenings in her home?
"Mummy's gone mad. Just like... before."
An excellent thriller with a completely unwarranted twist to finish it off. You never saw what was coming.
Not exactly a horror -- no gore whatsoever, just eerie, "ghosty" happenings that keep you on the edge of your sofa cushion.
Recommended =)

The Matrix

Just barely saw it last night -- LOVED it. Usually, sci-fi is a bit 2nd choice for me, but I saw this one last night and I'm hoping the sequels will be good too. If you haven't seen it, SEE IT... ps> Keanu Reeves is so beyond hot... *drools* even if he is on the old side =)

Finding Nemo

Finally -- a movie you can watch repeatedly and nothing stops being funny. Impressions of this one are classic.

So ok well i got back from Cali like 2 weeks ago and when i arrived home, the next day i was super sick. My mom thought i was making an act, because she wanted me to do some chores and find my cat. But really i thought i was gonna die haha. I was having these really bad stomach cramps and overall just an upset stomach. Then the next night i had a fever. Im still not too sure what i had, but i think it was the stomach flu, while my uncle thinks it was food poisoning, but who knows cuz im all better now haha. As of now my summers been pretty boring and hot! I still cant believe i start school Tuesday =P. What sucks even more is that i always get the most weirdest schedule.
