How about the fact that this film completely blew me away at the end of the second act; it pulls no punches, and follows no rules but its own. Nolan's films are the Batman movies we deserved all along. Dark, mesmerizing, and utterly brilliant. |

I really, really wanted to love this, but I have to be honest, I just don't enjoy anime. (It's the perfect match of affectation, and cookie-cutter traditional conformity.) Of course the art can't shoulder all the blame, especially with such underwhelming writing.The story fills in the gap between the two films, but all but a couple of segments are pretty weak. (The best being the one where Bruce learns to control pain, the end of which did manage to impress me.) |
