H2: Halloween II
by Agneswell, this was ok..some scenes were a bit out there and it's too bad that it's not the same kid playing young Michael Myers, and the Angel Myers-character is just too exaggerating in every way, can't stand the woman..but the movie itself is not too bad, If youre into Rob Zombie's style you will enjoy at least parts of the movie..
I have to say that Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects is a whole different story than theese Halloween-movies, it's a fahr better result when Zombie makes his own films..it's difficult to take a brilliant classic horror movie and remake it, most of the time it just doesn't work out, but I have to say that he succeeded pretty well with the first one, the first hour of the first movie is fantastic..and I appreciate the remakes because I just can't stand when they make 60 sequels, like they have done with Saw...posted 17 days ago -

Bye Bye Birdie
by MarkBright campy musical set in 1958 inspired by the phenomenon of popular singer Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the army. This enchanting adaptation of the 1960 Broadway hit takes a regrettably jaded view of rock and roll music. Luckily, the brilliant cast elevates this daffy comedy into the sublime: Dick Van Dyke is charming as always, Paul Lynde and Maureen Stapleton are hilarious and Ann-Margret is a saucy minx as the all-American teenager. Wonderful score features the songs "Put on a Happy Face", "The Telephone Hour" and "A Lot of Livin' to Do".

I recommend you see..."The Meaning of Life" just doesn't do as much as I would have hoped it would. Everything's slightly more average and it just doesn't catch your attention so much. Despite from that, it's still worth watching.

Orphan
by JunyWasn't sure what to make out of Orphan in the first half, got me laughing few times & some things felt too odd coming from this evil little Esther.I had a feeling there's got to be something going on with this character,so the movie can make some sense in a way or logic. All i have to say is that the twist was a good one & now it makes sense. Is a thought provoking film, perhaps disturbing or twisted for others. It does go to a territory that other horror films haven't been yet.

I recommend you see...this isn't a butterfly and roses recommendation but after some Brazilian passions and Hong Kong explosions,i wanted to..."entertain" myself with an extra-ordinary documentary meal.
yeah,i know,it sounds macabre fooling around with the situation but i have to lighten it up: Brakhage basically films organ removal, there.
so unless you have eaten or can't stand surgical "masterpieces" (and VERY clinical aftermaths of the human bodies) i'd suggest you stay away lads and lasses.
but..i mean..it's a short film,right?
30 minutes for watching morgue methods,is it a big deal?
it somehow is after you realize that deformation could be another form of Hades (the corridor Hades)
p.s.: based on The Pittsburgh trilogy, for the other two parts Eyes (in a police station) and Deus Ex (in a hospital) i'm still searching.posted 18 days ago -

Fantastic Mr. Fox
by El HombreA few things I got out of watching this film:
1. A true Wes Anderson film with the dramatic closeups, unsual camera angles and framing, those wonderful music queues, and odd character behavior in a film about a group coming to grips with what makes them unique.
2. A very clever story based on the work of Roald Dahl.
3. Some of the most incredible stop-animation.
Being a tough-minded film that is absolutely suitable for children, Fantastic Mr Fox is also wise enough to be a bigger hit with grown-up audiences. I wanted to hug this film.

I recommend you see...Character and life study by JJ.
Broken Flowers
by SteffVery good character study and realistic drama by Jarmusch. The amazing thing is that we don't really know anything about Don. Instead as the movie progress and the mystery deepens we can see him reflected in the women that he visits. Through the subtle performance of Bill Murray and the gentle direction of Jarmusch we can see the emptiness in his life and the threshold of his realisation of it. The movie as a whole gives us just enough motivation not only to contemplate on Don's life but in general on how not to miss living our own lives. That is how an old and emotionaly empty Don Juan affects us. He is the perfect idea of a life no spent.

I recommend you see...Food for thought.
Bowling for Columbine
by SteffBefore that movie I was not a huge fan of Moore. While I liked his other documentaries I found him to be a bit of a sensationalist. Boy, was I wrong. This documentary is the best example of his work. Start here so you might take the rest of his documentaries with a grain of salt. In "Bowling for Columbine" the way he portrays USA's greatest problem as being based on fear, is perfect! It offers the right amount of information, the right amount of provocating, the right amount of concern and the right amount of humour. It a leads up to well served food for thought and a quintessential documentary!

Brothers
by EricA mesmerizing, gloomy depiction of a tortured Marine captain's return from duty in Afghanistan to his once happy family.
Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, and Jake Gyllenhaal turn in brilliant performances in this film, and the premise is something that needs to be addressed due to the number of soldiers who come back carrying the war with them, and have it flashing consistently in their fragile minds.
Tobey Maguire portrays the Marine captain, and Jake Gyllenhaal portrays his brother who was recently released from prison. As an ex-Marine himself in Vietnam, the father(Sam Shepard) is inclined to favor the son serving his country, but learns that heroes are not only needed on the battlefields of war, but on the battlefields of life itself.posted 21 days ago -

Hey try this new fun horror quiz I made! Each question has 6 different random pictures (not from any horror movie whatsoever). But each picture holds a clue, 6 in total, all relating to a description from within a certain horror movie. You have to choose the correct horror movie that shares similarities with ALL the 6 picture descriptions. This can get tricky, so study each picture carefully. Good Luck!
