| 100 Feet - R |
Slightly above average ghost story that other than one rather painfully gory scene could probably pass for a Lifetime Channel movie.
Disappointing coming from Eric Red who gave us Near Dark, the original The Hitcher and Body Parts but it's still more entertaining than that J-horror remake stuff. |

| S. Darko (S Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale) - R |
Well...um...I thought the score was great and they used a Cocteau Twins song so that was a plus but otherwise....
Let me put it this way, I'm the first to admit that I didn't understand everything about Donnie Darko but the makers of this didnt know ANYthing about it. It's like they cobbled together the most memorable moments and ideas from the first and then threw in half-assed storylines about meteors with weird side effects, a bitchy friend and disappearing children (which is never even resolved!) Now just in case this all sounds like disappointment it's not because I went into this with an open mind but lower than low expectations and it still didnt come close to matching. |

| Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang - R | I still think the title is stupid but I really enjoyed this movie mainly due to the fact its pretty darn funny and Downy, Jr and Kilmer are gold together. Plus with Shane Black both penning and directing this doesn't hurt either. | May 17, 2009 | N/A | |||

| Nine - PG-13 | May 14, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| End of the Line - Unrated |
It's low budget limitations show and the acting can be painful at times to watch but that still doesn't keep it from being a fun, occasionally gory, end of the world thriller.
Plus I really dug that you had to pay attention from the beginning to fully get the ending of the film. |

| The Day the Earth Stood Still - PG-13 | May 13, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans - R |
Slick-looking photography, bloody mayhem and uneven CG.
No better or worse than the previous films although Rhona Mitra is big ole plus in my book. |

| Taken - PG-13 | High energy thrill ride. The story is pretty familiar but this is one of those thats more about the performances and the execution not its plot devices. And for a 50-something, Liam Neeson is still a bad-ass brit. | May 12, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Slaughter High - R | May 12, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Special - R |
A satifsfyingly quirky comedy/drama with a standout performance from the underused Michael Rapaport.
Worth it if you're looking for something a little different and unique. |

| Ricky Gervais: Out of England: The Stand-Up Special - Unrated | May 10, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| The Uninvited - PG-13 |
The Unimaginative. The Unnecessary. The Unlikeable. Hell I can go all day with this.
Elizabeth Banks is a plus (as usual) but otherwise (blows raspberry). |

| The Broken - R |
Another film involving mirrors but unlike Aja's crapfest misfire this one is effectively creepy and a mature piece of work.
Some will be put off by its refusal to give an explanation to the events and its ambiguous ending but I found it to fit quite well. |

| Martyrs - R |
Pointless, nihlistic & mean-spirited with a few well done moments of superior craftsmanship.
A great example of why I hate the latest trend of so-called horror movies nowadays. |

| Hot Stuff - PG | May 5, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| No Man's Land: The Rise of Reeker - Unrated |
It gets no points for its completely unoriginal story but in the times of all these depressing, doom and gloom horror films it was refreshing to see one that was actually kinda fun.
Plus the Reeker was pretty cool looking and featured the best use of the jittery effect since the House On Haunted Hill remake. |

| Un Gatto nel cervello (Nightmare Concert A Cat in the Brain) - R |
Tongue in cheek, black comedy gorefest starring Fulci as himself plagued by hallucinations from some of his worst films (ie Sodoma's Ghost).
Fulci's last good & splattery film before he passed away in 1996. |

| Knight's Tale - PG-13 | May 2, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| House - R | The most derivative supernatural story I've seen in a long while complete with a backwoods house that feeds on your guilt, creepy employees, a "surprise" revelation as to the killer's identity, a helpful spirit in the form of a girl and a highly overused ending. Complete waste of time. | April 29, 2009 | N/A | |||
| The Burrowers - R |
Original idea of mixing the Western with the monster movie genre but the film drags on and ends with a most unsatisfying and abrupt conclusion.
Still its got some terrific looking creatures with some interesting feeding habits. |
