About Me
I'm totally on here for the movies people. I'm not a myspace whore just looking to meet new people. Neither am I a person who uses this site as an attempt to keep in touch with the people I went to school with. I'm willing to meet new people... who I share a common interest with...(MOVIES!) Hey but if I meet you and you seem cool then just ignore all that other stuff :P

I try and write fairly long reviews as i hope it will persuade people to talk to me about movies. And chances are if you do that you'll have a friend for life.

I like meeting new people but I’m not here for a internet relationship especially with someone who is either 13 or 30 and horny so don't bother.

I'm no longer 19, nope…I’m now 20 (argh!) and if I don't look out I’ll soon be 21! Oh and I've finished School which feels like a small eternity ago and work full time. Yeh, I’ve basically sold my soul to the corporate world. Oh and yeah I live in a very small city called York in England. (It has lots of historic value...Vikings...Romans...Jews...pubs... but only one cinema)

I have a lot of geeky interests but I'm hardly going to tell you about them on here.... unless you ask :P

Basically I feel simple pleasures are the best. I read, write nearly all the time and I’m generally a very creative person... always trying to find new ways of creating entertaining outlets.

I guess I must be someone who's not always easy to get on with but I will always try.

Also if you want me to add you talk to me first :) its only polite! And I’ll be nice... I promise.

People with a like a thousand wigits annoy me... go play on a roadway kiddies...have fun. Oh and for the love of god stop asking me to look at them, I Really Really don't care...

More like: A Series of Unfortunate Events than your Fatal Attracton based "thriller."
In some cases this movie was actually really pissing annoying as it's hard to watch Clive Owen play a role he was mis-cast for.

There is no words that will ever quite capture the brilliance of this film.
The unconventinal story is what you make it:
A tainted love affair.
A physcological thriller.
A vouiristic fantasy.
A haunting detective story.
Hitchcock could never top this, every single scene is like that from a dream. It's poetry for the screen. Visually inspiring.
James Stewart and Kim Novak's chemistry is enough to ignite a responce and keep anyone enticed.
It is a perfect movie!
An absolute masterpiece.

Did anybody else have the Jaws theme running through their head whilst watching this!?
I did. XD
At first watching this I was all like "Heheheh she has teeth in her lady parts mega lolz XD" well I wasn't but you get the idea... and then with each severed penis that came my way I slowly began to adjust that earlier point of view. I mean this has got to be like the ultimate feminist fantasy.
The story isn't that original: an abused woman goes after abusive men with her penis fly trap and deservedly gives them a taste of their own medicine.
This movie is all about its audiences, it knows exactly why people will be interesting in watching it and it doesn't fall short of deliverance. However you might want to re-consider who you watch this with. Potential first dates are definitely out.
The gore in this movie is ideal for the Indie Horror/B-movie that it is. There are moments where you will dare yourself to look even though you are in two minds about doing it! Combine that with an ultimately fucked up story and strong performances and you have what could potentially be one of the year's best horror movies.
You know exactly what to expect!
Us guy's like our tackle in tact thank you very much, watching it severed is like most men's worst nightmare! Unless you're a German canniball and then this movie is just excessively wasteful! Think the end of Hostel Part II but worse.
On another note you never ever get to see the savage clit monster adding just another lovely unkown element for the male species to deal with.
A particular well done to Jess Weixler who has managed to sustain and build on a incredibly complex character who has morphed a firmly established insecure girl to a potential killer just popping out for a quick bite. The scariest thing about this movie is that people can relate to her kind of character... and the dreaded "What-If" style question that accompanies it.
Oh an a even bigger well done to the rest of the supporting cast who didn't mind the excessively gory details of their genitals being shown. You go guys!
And on that note... I won't be watching it again.
The Happening The Happening R 3.5 Stars
Frigging England where the hell is my Hairpin to the throat and Lawnmower scenes?! On the frigging cutting room floor that's where! Now I'm stuck wondering if I actually enjoyed it or not... damn you Shyamalan!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr
If you're from the UK look up the uncut trailer on Youtube and see what you're missing!
Remove the violence from this movie and you are left with a shell! The whole concept of this movie is to be a "B-Movie" with a message and without it's shock capacity the movie looses all its potential.
If Mr M Night Shyamalan wanted his audiences to take on board the message of "being a bit more considerate to the environment" he should have scared the fuck out of them!!!
In all honesty the movie works on paper. The story is really good and totally original, this is Shyamalan we're talking about after all. However, for this movie to work as a thriller, it needed a hell of a lot of something else... but somehow manages to hold its own.... just... for the love of God I don't know how!?
Think Night of the Living Dead... but without the zombies.... and bad acting.
The acting is in exact parallel to the cheap performances you get from your typical "B-movie" and it didn't feel natural at all! Wahlberg has exactly the same tone and mannerisms for every scene and Deschanel thinks she can carry a performance on going doe-eyed and sitting pretty.
It's a shame because there is a good supporting cast known for being in "B-movies" that are totally overlooked, for the ten mins he was in this movie Leguizamo shines.
It just doesn't work.... and yet... does?
Something about this movie keeps you watching....
So many people have been slating the hell out of this movie, it feels future generations are going to know it as a movie so bad... it's good.
I pray that a uncut version comes out on DVD otherwise this movie is going to really loose its fighting chance... even for its potential to become a cult movie.
Oh... and the plant's did it.
After all Shyamalan's past successes.....What Happend eh???

This is my all time favourite movie, (so far) I don't think anything can top it. The atmosphere is amazing, the chemestry between the actors is just mind blowing and the way the entire movie is made is just inspirational. Very strong performances. It's just not your average love story (made up by producers as they went along, plot holes, and midgits to give the illusion that a carboard cut out of a plane is the real thing) with real worthy characters. In my view: one of the best movies ever made.
Fight Club 3. Fight Club R 5.0 Stars
I love this film. The character's in it are amazing... and you just can't stop watching Edward Norton. I guess you can kinda see the twist coming but i didn't really expect it. The movie kinda plays like a book more than anything with a high moralistic feeling of moving one thing to another. The dialogue is perfect combining poetry and quotes from oscar wilde to name but one litterary aspect give that art house atmosphere. Brad pitt isn't bad in it either. Despite being ocassionally violent, it's just easy and fun to watch.

An adventure as big as life itself.

    DIRECTED BY: Tim Burton
STARRING: Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Blly Crudup, Jessica Lange, Helena Bonham Carter, Alison Lohman, Robert Giullaume, Marion Cotillard, Steve Buscemi, Danny DeVito

    Synopsis

Tim Burton directs the fantasy drama Big Fish, based on the book Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions by Southern writer/illustrator Daniel Wallace. Billy Crudup plays William Bloom, a young man who never really knew his dying father, Edward Bloom (Albert Finney) outside of the tall tales he told about growing up, making his way, and meeting his mother, Sandra Bloom (played as a young woman by Alison Lohman and in older age by Jessica Lange). During Edward's last days, William and his wife Josephine (Marion Cotillard) hold bedside vigil as the old man recollects elaborate memories of his youth (in which he is played by Ewan McGregor). Still doubting the the legends and folklore, William makes a journey to meet a mysterious woman (Helena Bonham Carter) from whom Edward had bought property.

    My Review

With the director Tim Burton and the composer Danny Elfman, we all have imagined Big Fish to be a NICE EDWARD SCISSORHANDS ENCORE. The truth is, not exactly an encore, but still supplied with the same tone, heartwarming fairy tale for all ages, and Burton-Elfman-ish style.

Adapted from a book by Daniel Wallace, Burton convinced us that the movie is at least as good as the book, without losing his directing style in each angles. The UNIQUE storyline with imaginative characters were represent well by Burton into the screen of a movie. I haven't watched the book yet, but I'm sure that the movie Big Fish is exactly what the readers hope. Bunch of great casts, and memorable quotes, deeply acted, and well executed. But what I concern about is, I'm afraid that after a few years, Big Fish will be only well remebered as another hot job from Burton, a nice Scissorhands' follower, and then there will be nothing much left about it, becuase it is not as good as Scissorhands is every way.

Albert Finney gave a perfect performance as the older Edward Bloom, his performance was REMARKABLE. And to mention Jessica Lange and Ewan McGregor which gave honorable pwerformances, supported the movie well, quite convincing. Helena Bonham Carter is without any doubt, a true actress, she nailed all her roles in every movies she played well. But, only heaven knows whether she got her roles here because of her quality, or well, nepotism. I mean, first this Big Fish, and then Corpse Bride, and Sweeney Todd. But who cares, I'm sure she'll be as great as she is now without staying under Burton's shadow.

Overall Big Fish is a fairy tale with a troop of great casts (means you don't have to worry about the actings development, they are all in the good hands). ANOTHER 'BIG' WORK OF ART FROM BURTON.

I was thinking about death and all. About seeing how you're gonna die. I mean, on one hand, if dying was all you thought about, it could kind of screw you up. But it could kind of help you, couldn't it? Because you'd know that everything else you can survive.

    My Review

If there is any reason that made Mystic River didn't win the Oscar, maybe it was only because it was facing Jackson's giant The Return of The King. In my opinion, Mystic River is a very POWERFUL in every way, and may I say that, it is more than Crash (the 2006's winner). Again, a not-so-lucky coincidence for a good movie to win an Oscar it deserves.

It owns my 5 stars, because I think, well, 'is there anything wrong about the movie?' HELL, NO! Perfectly directed and casted, each actors seem belong to the movie, including Eastwood, who made this movie a true high quality intense. I found that the guy is much better to be off from camera, and instead, works behind it, and he can create miracles. He didn't get the Oscar for this? Who cares?! He made it one year later with Million Dollar Baby, which I think, he deserves it more when he directed Mystic River.

And pay attention the guys who really made this movie works. Sean Penn and Tim Robbins. I've putted my eye on Penn since I am Sam, which some think that it's not a really great movie (and which I don't agree with), but still, Penn gave a miraculous performance in I am Sam. Then, he played the exact diffrent role here, he created a heavenly choir in the viewers' hearts. He shouted, he screams, he cried, and we saw a man who was really ready to receive his Oscar. And to mention the honorable Tim Robbins, which created intense in his character Dave. Bacon did a good job and he fits for the role, but I can see anybody else in those suits which can played the role Sean Devine as good as him. But the SCENE-STEALER here is Marcia Gay Harden. She presented her role with her totality of acting. Remember her scene with Sean Penn? It's probably the most powerful moment in the movie. The dialogs are convincing and brilliantly smart. A perfect way to adapt a book into different kind of masterpiece.

Overall Mystic River is an experience of watching 3 powerful characters in the same intrigue with different role, created a vibe of intense and curiosity for all viewers. MYSTIC RIVER IS A TRUTHFUL MASTERPIECE FROM EASTWOOD.

The reality is we're still 11 year old boys locked in a cellar imagining what our lives would have been if we'd escaped.

    DIRECTED BY: Cameron Crowe
STARRING: Patrick Fugit, Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Jason Lee, Frances McDormand, Zooey Deschanel, Anna Paquin, Philip Seyour Hoffman

    Synopsis

Writer and director Cameron Crowe's experiences as a teenage rock journalist -- he was a regular contributor to Rolling Stone while still in high school -- inspired this coming-of-age story about a 15-year-old boy hitting the road with an up-and-coming rock band in the early 1970s. Elaine Miller (Frances McDormand) strict single parent whose distrust of rock music has helped to drive a wedge between herself and her two children, Anita (Zooey Deschanel) and William (Patrick Fugit). Anita rebels by dropping out of school and becoming a stewardess, but William makes something of his love of rock & roll by writing album reviews for a local underground newspaper. William's work attracts the attention of Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman), editor of renegade rock magazine Creem, who takes William under his wing and gives him his first professional writing assignment -- covering a Black Sabbath concert. While William is unable to score an interview with the headliners, the opening act, Stillwater, are more than happy to chat with a reporter, even if he's still too young to drive, and William's piece on the group in Creem gains him a new admirer, an editor at Rolling Stone offers William an assignment for a 3,000-word cover story on Stillwater, and over the objections of his mother , and after some stern advice from Bangs, Williams joins Stillwater on tour, where he becomes friendly with guitarist Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee). William also becomes enamored of Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), a Band Aid traveling with the band who is no older than William, but is deeply involved with Russell. Lester Bangs and Ben Fong-Torres, incidentally, were real-life rock writers Crowe worked with closely during his days as a journalist.

    My Review

Almost Famous is one of some real proves in the existancy of wheel of life. What I'm trying to say here is, you see Cameron Crowe here, and you see him 5 years later in Elizabethtown. Got the idea? If you haven't, let me make this clearer that Almost Famous is a real PIECE OF WORK and Elizabethtown is RUBBISH.

The whole idea is BRILLIANT, about the lives of rockstars, the rise and fall and all is really caught me. This is why I put Cameron Crowe as a good director in my list, his work here is untouchable, way too far from his downfall in Elizabethtown. I'm sorry, I just still don't get why those great directors who have gained good movies want able to cast Orlando Bloom as the lead actor in their movies. (NOTED: Ridley Scott-Kingdom of Heaven, Cameron Crowe-Elizabethtown) And thank God that the Penny Lane role was not given to Kirsten Dunst who was rumored to play the role, instead, she played in (again) Elizabethtown 5 years later. Bloom + Dunst = EARLY DOOMSDAY. Smart choice, Crowe! (total joking)

Back to the movie, Almost Famous gives a well written script, solid casts (the great actings from Frances McDormand and Kate Hudson, both deserve the Oscar Nomination), good rock musics, and the 70's set works. What I concern about is Anna Paquin that she should given more role here. She's a great actress (an Oscar in her age of 11 by the movie The Piano), it's a great start of career for the young girl. But until now, she mostly only known as the girl named Rogue in the X-Men series. She should be a promising Hollywood talent.

The characters bond to each other, but of course Penny Lane, played by Hudson, got the center of attention. This is the best Hudson's performance in a movie. The character's chemistry with Russell Hammond, played by Crudup is inevitable. Both barely speaks, but I guess Crowe got a great sense of picking the great actors for the roles ONCE. (I guess you all know why I bolded, biggered, and underlined the word)

Overall Almost Famous is a movie with interesting characters about how life can turn into, possibilities and most of all, ALMOST FAMOUS MADE A SPOT IN 2000's BEST LIST.

You CANNOT make friends with the rock stars. That's what's important. If you're a rock journalist - first, you will never get paid much. But you will get free records from the record company. And they'll buy you drinks, you'll meet girls, they'll try to fly you places for free, offer you drugs... I know. It sounds great. But they are not your friends. These are people who want you to write sanctimonious stories about the genius of the rock stars, and they will ruin rock and roll and strangle everything we love about it.

Sometimes the greatest journey is the distance between two people

    DIRECTED BY: John Curran
STARRING: Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Toby Jones, Anthony Wong Chau-Sang

    Synopsis

The Painted Veil is a love story set in the 1920s which has Kitty Fane (Naomi Watts meeting young, intelligent, shy and somewhat dull Dr. Walter Fane (Edward Norton), whose forte is the study of infectious diseases, and the convenient marriage that she finds herself committed to. It is in this web of intrigue that they head for China, only after Walter discovers Kitty's infidelity with one dashing and witty diplomat Charlie Townsend (Liev Schreiber). So much as to hide her from herself and to help thwart a cholera outbreak, this is a marriage more than on the rocks. This is a cold, indifferent and loveless partnership in a vast unknown and deadly environment that will test both these flightless lovebirds and with the hardships and tolerances more than any had ever anticipated. A visual delight amid the pain and suffering of a dying people and failing marriage. Will a cure be found for both, before it's too late?

    My Review

Somehow, I felt this movie is is a remarkable love story which unfortunately very UNDERRATED. How come Stephen Frears' The Queen was rewarded a nomination for the year's Academy Award Best Picture, and The Painted Veil didn't get any nomination at all? I mean, not a single one? You know what, they kept going crazy and crazier through years.

Enough with the disappointment on those guys, the movie didn't disappoint me at all. It is no Atonement, that movie is slightly better in every way, but the breathtaking SCENERY and cinematography took my breath away. The characters' development is magnificent, both main characters played by Norton and Watts were so true and close-to-life. The characters flow slowly, but sure, and no character was abandoned to be just a not-so-important character, they were given right proportions. Both actings terrific. I won't say much about Norton, I think we all agree here that he is crazy magnificent. But my concern here is to Naomi Watts which always give a worthy performance in every movie she's involved, but still, she is underrated. She should be rewarded as Keira Knightley, at least, which carrer boosted this high in only 5 years.

I considered the music score as one of the BEST in the year. The original score kept playing in my head until now. Maybe, the only flaw this movie carries is its slow-moving way of telling the story, which can bored some people, especially they who only watch for excitement. But, I'm not saying that The Painted Veil is a movie for everyone, so I don't really care about the slow-moving story.

In the end, The Painted Veil is a love story which gives a fresh air to the genre's fan, when all the rom-com parade is not soon to be ended. (And I'm REALLY SICK of them. The Painted Veil is romantic movie who brings us back when there are high quality love stories. Remember when it was the age of The English Patient? Well, who could forget that. THIS IS THE KIND OF LOVE STORY WE NEED.

It was silly of us to look for qualities in each other that we never had.

    Why so serious?

    DIRECTED BY: Christopher Nolan
STARRING: Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Eric Roberts

    Synopsis

With just one year passed after taking out Ra's Al Ghul's plan to have Gotham eliminated and the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Jonathan Crane A.K.A. Scarecrow, after the city was nearly plundered with his toxins, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and his vigilante alter-ego the Batman, continue the seemingly-endless effort to bring order to Gotham, with the help of Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and newly appointed District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), but a new threat has now emerged into the streets. The Dark Knight faces a rising psychopathic criminal called The Joker (Heath Ledger), whose eerie grin, laughter, and inhuman morality makes him more dangerous than what he has yet to unleash. It becomes an agenda to the Batman to stop the mysterious Joker at all cost, knowing that the both of them are in the opposite line. One with no method at all and seeks to see the world plunge into the fire he has yet to lit. One who represents the symbol of hope and uses his own shadow to bring the peace and order he has yet to accomplish on doing.

    Source: IMDb

    My Review

I have no idea how to start my words about The Dark Knight. You've seen the 5 stars above, I think that's what BEST DESCRIBES the movie. Here are a few thoughts:

    - THE BEST SUPERHERO-SLASH-COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER MADE.
    - THE BEST 2008's SUMMER MOVIE SO FAR. For the record, I haven't seen Wall-E.
    - THE BEST THAT HEATH LEDGER EVER DONE FOR HIS CAREER.

Another fact about The Dark Knight is, that after the movie, we will NEVER see The Joker as one of the Batman villain, considering him as another Scarecrow, another The Riddler, or (wait, I'm going to say this dreadful nightmare...) Mr. Freeze. Instead, we will see The Joker as what? A LEGEND.

Yes, I know the buzzes and promotions maybe made some of you (especially a non-fanatic-fan of Batman) sick, of the exposure of The Joker character and all, but I GUARANTEE, you'll know why after you see the movie, and hear the laughter of The Joker by your own ears, and experience the movie by your own eyes. Jack Nicholson who've been involved in movies, three times more than Ledger, and received Oscar nominations for twelve times more than Ledger, didn't even close to beat the half of Ledger's charisma here. HE WAS BORN DO PLAY THE JOKER. (I don't think I should bring up the Oscar buzz right now, Ledger's fantastic, but it still too close to call.)

I'm always a fan of Nolan's works. He directed many movies in different genre, but he always carries his Midas touch in everything he touches, they became gold. But this Dark Knight, is his MASTERPIECE. (Yes, said it already, IT IS A MASTERPIECE.) I believe this statement does not only come out from a tired girl which still feeling the euphoria after watching, but, I mean it.

The script was too BRILLIANT to be compared with another superhero movies, including today's hit Iron Man, which is, nothing, compared to the Jonathan-Christopher Nolan's job. I mean, where would we find a superhero movie, a movie which adapted from a comic book for children's consumption, and carries such high-grade humanity, complex and realistic storyline, along with the beautiful screenplay to be spoken in every minutes of its bites? NO WHERE BUT HERE. The characters' development were digged until the deepest depth, which played by the actors convincingly. Freeman and Caine repeated their role fine, the other new cast for Harvey Dent Aaron Eckhart was fit to the role, with no such costly exploitation like what they did with the Three Villain Disaster Venom-Sandman-New Goblin in that dumby-grumpy Spider-Man 3. And it's time for Nolan to learn from his own fault, that casting Katie Holmes to play Rachel Dawes is not a very wise decision (terrible and dumb, actually) and that he should find an actress who can act without ruining the movie. Gyllenhaal gives a new fresh air for the character, the lovable one. And the music score? Who would expect better than a James Newton Howard-Hans Zimmer collaboration?

I made myself clear enough above, and I obviously hoping for an improvement for the third installment. (you guys have to do a very tough job) And most of all, WE BELIEVE IN NOLAN.

You've changed things... forever. There's no going back. See, to them, you're just a freak... like me!

-R.I.P. Heath Ledger as The Joker-

I made it clear in my review that this movie is really a MASTERPIECE. So, I'm sure that you will not let yourself missing this one. Have fun watching!

Bob Harris (Bill Murray) is an American film actor, far past his prime. He visits Tokyo to appear in commercials, and he meets Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson), the young wife of a visiting photographer. Bored and weary, Bob and Charlotte make ideal if improbable traveling companions. Charlotte is looking for "her place in life," and Bob is tolerating a mediocre stateside marriage. Both separately and together, they live the experience of the American in Tokyo. Bob and Charlotte suffer both confusion and hilarity due to the cultural and language differences between themselves and the Japanese. As the relationship between Bob and Charlotte deepens, they come to the realization that their visits to Japan, and one another, must soon end.

    My Review

Lost in Translation is a movie a bout cry, laughter, loneliness, and how to be LOST IN TRANSLATION. Some called it boring, some called it, well, how should I say this? That the apple didn't fall so far from the tree. Coppolas really had a thing to direct. And that women have power to direct a good movie, and also a non-chick-flick-Nancy Meyers.

    What makes it so good?

Nothing but simply the CLOSER look on life, and how it goes, actually. How a man in his midlife crisis and a woman who simply regretted for he path she's chosen for her. And it easily touches the viewers. Bill Murray played Bob Harris beautifully, one of the best of his long career. The character Bob will never be the same with another actor to play the role, I'm not saying it's irreplaceable, but it will be DIFFERENT. But who's the lucky girl here? Scarlett Johansson. Well, it's not exactly lucky, she deserves what she gets after the Charlotte role. A Hollywood dream, became an A-list actress, she deserves it all, after this. She made the Charlotte's character was so true and we will be easily understand her character without convincing ourselves, 'Well, this is a movie, it didn't really happen, so don't give a shit about the non-sense character state of condition.' Lost in Translation is a movie where we can see the pureness of acting by Johansson.

The script was PERFECTLY written, the jet-lag state will never be more beautiful as it had been shown by the movie. This is one of those movies which got the true to life dialogs and somehow, we can find smartness in there somewhere. The score is terrific, the Japanese view is catchy, but not as great as the movie itself. And if you remember any of Anna Faris' part, ah, let's forget that. She leaves this movie a little scratch, but, no one can totally harm the movie.

In the end, Lost in Translation is not only a movie about a guy in someone's country who lost in translation of the people, the language, and gesture, but a breathtaking movie about how to be lost in translating life and how to find the perfect person in our downfalls. The famous whisper end of this movie will always be the best ending for this beautiful story of friendship and connection of two people. And about what the whisper says, WELL, LET'S KEEP OUR CURIOUSITY FOREVER.

Can you keep a secret? I'm trying to organize a prison break. I'm looking for, like, an accomplice. We have to first get out of this bar, then the hotel, then the city, and then the country. Are you in or you out?

Hey, you should really see this if you haven't. Highly recommended.

    Osmosis Jones Osmosis Jones
    3.5 Stars by Danielle
Murray's character, Frank, is the kind of Homer Simpson-esque boob whose idea of a perfect father-daughter weekend is a trip to the annual Buffalo Wing Festival. His diet consists mainly of beer, chips, and Circus Peanuts, with nary a leafy green in sight. Daughter Shane (Elena Franklin), appalled at her pop's careless consumption, keeps hassling the couch potato to shape up and eat right. But Frank's poor noshing habits and lazy lifestyle leave him vulnerable to illness. Intercut with the tale of Frank's sorry existence is the microscopic view inside him, which reveals a sprawling metropolis of cells, germs, and bacteria functioning under the flailing leadership of Mayor Phlemming (voiced by William Shatner). The "City of Frank" offers Jones' most rewarding comic cleverness, with numerous verbal puns related to human biology and an ample array of visual gags. Screenwriter Marc Hyman makes the most of matching each biological element and function to a real-world urban counterpart. Posters for "Peace in the Middle Ear" and "The Million Membrane March" pepper the background, and everything Frank does, from eating to peeing, involves buttons, gizmos, machinery, and the interaction of countless citizens. Nasty germs hole up in Frank's armpits, liver, and festering toes, while his stomach terminal is as busy as O'Hare Airport on Thanksgiving. Hardly thriving, the City of Frank is in disrepair and marked for destruction by the invading, nasty Red Menace, Thrax (Laurence Fishburne), who slices and burns his way through Frank's tissues with a 48-hour agenda. Only Osmosis and his straight-laced, cold-capsule partner, Drix (David Hyde Pierce), see the threat, and the two set about saving their human host from imminent death despite the Frank Police Department's universal disbelief and disdain. The idea of a man's insides being a city is a wonderfully entertaining one, with opportunities for so many jokes. We're told that the Love Handles district is "the fastest-growing community in Frank," and the mayor (William Shatner) is thrilled to announce they're about to begin construction on a third chin. The Mafia hangs out in the armpits, because that's what most closely resembles a sauna. The Farrelly brothers directed the live portions of this film, while the animated sequences were directed by Piet Kroon and Tom Sito. Personally, I enjoyed the animated sequences (which often reminded me of Space Jam) more than the live action ones, if only because there seems to be more life pumped into the drawings than the real life characters. While Bill Murray is funny, he isn't used to his full comedic extent. Still, the live-action stuff with Murray is amusing, and the animated sequences are basically entertaining, so it's not a complete waste of time.

    Papillon Papillon

An extremely hard and difficult film to watch.
You'll always have the feeling it will somehow taste sweeter in the following minutes but never does.
It's way overlong ; some sequences could have easily been cut shorter.
Still, "Papillon" remains one of the most gruelling and well-made prison dramas of all time.

Yeah, but with the same logic, being a good person isn't really gratifying anymore...it just seems bothersome now...it's like...maybe just falling in with the crowd is the easiest thing to do...
Cause let's face it...people like us are vastly outnumbered... ;/
