When I first saw this film, I couldn't belive what I'd just watched, so I watched it again straight away, absolutely awesome

National Treasure: Book of Secrets
by K JEnjoyable enough flick, but the 'treasure found' was less believable than the first. Ed Harris was wasted with the small role he had in this film. The chemistry and humor from the first National Treasure didn't transfer to this sequel. Worth a watch but a let down from the first.
Not as good as the first, but worth watching...

Chaos
by MarkA poor blatant rip off of Wes Cravens Last House On The Left.
At the beginning the film gives you a warning of its graphic nature but tries to justify it by saying that if you watch you just might save your or your childs life.
Basically its about some criminals on the run hiding out in the woods who ensnare two teenagers who have been duped by the gang leaders son into following him to score some ecstasy.
What follows is the gang sexually torturing the girls and then pursuing them when they try to escape, culminating in a violent conclusion at the home of one of the girls parents.
Its a poorly acted movie that tries to take inspiration from 70's grindhouse cinema but alas only copies it.Just my opinion.

I recommend you see...
The Bank Job
by K JA heist gone wrong and based on a true story.... The Bank Job delivers one of the best heist movies in recent years. Well written and directed, the film flows smoothly even with all its sub-plots. The acting is top notch, even if like myself you are not familiar with all the brilliant UK actors. Jason Statham shows he can bring much more than just action to a film. This very entertaining film is a nice suspense/thriller viewing.

I recommend you see...
Hey, you should really see this! If your a fan of the classic tv show, modern gothic horror or vampires you should check this movie out. It has great sets, lots of gothic atmosphere, good make-up effects, engaging drama and even some bloody violence. And Jonathan Frid is great (as usual) as vampire Barnabas Collins.

by MarkFor every 50 run of the mill horrors that seem to come out these days, at least there is always a real gem waiting to be seen.
Not that this movie is overly original, but what it is, is made really well. A local film crew are filming a fly on the wall documentary on a fire station and the whole film is shot through their camera adding to the creepy feel of the movie.
When they go on aroutine call to rescue a trapped old lady from her apartment, things take a grisly turn.
A gripping flesh eater film with a nice little plot twist about the origins of the zombies.

Alpha Dog
by K JIf you aren't used to foul language, you will want to stay away from Alpha Dog. Definitely earned it's R rating....
Based upon a true story, Alpha Dog punches hard. It's a very raw and hardcore look at misguided youth. Though the names of the actual characters were changed for the film, if you're not familiar with the story of Jesse James Hollywood, you will be researching it after viewing this film.
Nick Cassavetes brings this look at relevant headlines to the screen without holding back. Alpha Dog is well acted aside from Hirsch, who just didn't seem believable as Johnny Truelove (aka Jesse James Hollywood).Hey, you should really see this!
