My Favorite Movies

This film is my Star Wars. I didn't see the original trilogy until I was 19 years old and didn't care for it. BTTF is what I grew up watching on VHS everyday after school. I have no idea if it's any good, but in my mind it's awesome.

This film will make you question what it physically means to be a human being.

Not only one of the top 5 documentaries I've ever seen, on of my favorite films of all time. A time capsule piece of a time and era I wish I'd experienced.

One of the first foreign films I saw that wasn't on a critics list as something you "had to see". Astounding acting, camera, use of music and captures the exact feeling of social pressure in the middle school to high school environment.

I can watch this anytime, anyday and it leaves me with a floating feeling.

Solid film by a director (Craig Brewer) I'm very interested in following. I've only seen this film and Hustle & Flow, but I think he is a great talent with years of interesting filmmaking ahead. This film is packaged as a "good ole fashioned exploitation film" which is does have some elements of, but is mostly a down and dirty, blues inspired southern fable with great music and great acting. Mr. Jackson is awesome when he gets a role that reins him in for 90% of it, then lets him chew the scenery for 10%.

Ignore the last 12 minutes and it's quite moody and a great nod to "Psycho".

Watch it and you'll be unable to eat ever again.
