Love Movies, Travel and Fashion. Looking for friends who love movies. No interest in internet dating.
My movie preferences - I love anything with Leonardo DiCaprio. He is an amazing actor. I've been a fan for over 10 years. As an 80s child I love Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, E.T., The Lost Boys, The Breakfast Club, Dirty Dancing, The Goonies, Thelma and Louise, etc. I like true stories, period costume dramas, action, thrillers, suspense, black comedy and romantic comedies. I'm not into horrors, senseless violent movies, sci-fi, fantasy, westerns or overly soppy romances. Interesting facts - Drove passed Leo's house in LA. - I've been on the set of ER in LA (it's not in Chicago). - I've stayed in the Bellagio hotel (featured in Ocean's Eleven). - I saw Michael Jackson in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. - I saw Donny Osmond in a shopping centre in Miami. - David Blaine waved at me from his glass box in London. - I've met Jean-Christophe Novelli, Matthew Pinsent, Patrick Kielty, Sean Hughes and Philip Schofield. |

Liar Liar
PG-13
This is my favourite Jim Carrey movie. He is a lawyer who lies for a living. His son doesn't see him much as he is a workaholic and always lets him down. For his birthday his son wishes his dad cannot lie for one day and it comes true. Jim doesn't know what has hit him. There are hilarious scenes in the court room.
The Thomas Crown Affair
R
Great adaptation of the Steve McQueen movie. Great chemistry between Pierce and Renee. Good plot about an art thief and an insurance investigator who fall in love. I love the scene with the bowler hats. It's very clever.
Quantum of Solace
PG-13
This movie follows on from Casino Royale with Bond seeking revenge for the death of his love and also for the man who tries to kill M. Whilst on the war path he uncovers a supposedly green company taking over a country's water supply. Full of action as you would expect, but less cars and Bond girls, less violent and no gadgets.
The Long Way Home
Unrated
A retired widow leaves his family to go on an adventure and befriends a young woman.
Ghost Town
PG-13
Funny movie about a dentist who isn't a people person. He has an operation where he dies and is revived. Afterwards he sees dead people and he is obliged to help them with their unfinished business. Good cast.
Jungle 2 Jungle
PG
Tim is a successful broker in New York. He finds out he has a teenage son who grew up in the jungle. He tries to help his son adjust to new york life with funny consequences.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)
by DeanWell this is much better than I expected. After the rather disappointing first AVP this has a lot more action in it. It reminded me a lot of the Aliens film in the second half of the movie and some scenes were very similar whether that was deliberate or not is hard to say. It's good to see continuation from the earlier Predator and Alien films as well in this, such as the weapons and behaviour seen in those films help link it to both franchises. Overall a good action/horror that is better than the first by a long way. Oh for those complaining the film is too dark, adjust the brightness!
Hey, you should really see this!

Fried Green Tomatoes
by MarkComedy drama about a woman who finds strength to assert herself in the modern day through the stories of two women in the past. The film's framing device is somewhat awkward, but this likeable feminist drama benefits from a great ensemble cast. Actress-turned-author Fannie Flagg was nominated for an Oscar for her screenplay in adapting her novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café.
Every once in a while I'll re-watch a great movie. One of the better chick flicks.

I understand. She's one of my very favorites but I know she's not for everyone. My daughter and I watched Ghosttown and really enjoyed it!

Role Models
by MarkComedic buddy film about a couple of energy drink salesmen who are forced to spend 150 hours of community service after they break the law. They become mentors to a couple of kids, one a shy, dorky geek, the other a foul mouthed disrespectful brat. Despite that formulaic recipe, the movie succeeds because it skillfully straddles the line between crude, sexual humor and sweet, likable characters. The cast has great chemistry. It almost feels as if they're making it up on the spot. That climatic battle scene left me smiling.
Get Smart, Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The House Bunny and now Role Models. 2008 was a great year for comedy!
