Warning - spoilers! The sequel to 'Twilight' continues the doomed relationship between Bella (human) and Edward (vampire). The opening is very slow and depressing as Edward leaves Bella in order to protect her. She's very fickle and quickly falls into the arms of Jake (who happens to be a werewolf - how unlucky in love and tragic?). Like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, who knows how it will all end. Jake (Taylor) is very buff and much nicer than Edward (Robert).
Ever wondered how things could have turned out if you had / hadn't ended up with someone? Is there only one person for you? The movie follows Helen and two different sides of her life following a breakup. Excellent concept and story. Great cast.
Modern version of Hitchcock movie 'Dial M for Murder'. A rich wife Emily (Gwyneth) has an affair with a shady artist. Her husband Steven (Michael) finds out and blackmails his wife's lover into killing her. It would have been the perfect murder but it does not all go to plan. Great cast. Great plot.
Second part, she gets her man, ends up in a Thai prison, loses her man, gets him back again. Fave scene - fighting in the fountain. Hilarious! Great cast.
Excellent adaptation of the novel. Bridget is unlucky in love, a little overweight, smokes too much and has an embarrassing mother. This is her lucky year - two men but will she chose Mr. Right? I love the fighting scene in the street. It's classic. Great cast. Funny rom com. You just sympathise with Bridget all the way.
Nicolas Cage is a fourth generation treasure hunter who discovers the Templar Knights' treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence. He has to stop Sean Bean and his men from looting the treasure and destroying national artefacts. If you liked Indiana Jones or the Da Vinci Code you will like this movie full of adventure, history and fantasy. Good story. Great cast.
The story starts in present time, with the sole living survivor of the Titanic. She reveals a love story between two classes on board the first journey of the Titanic across the Atlantic. The Titanic hits an iceberg and sinks. My fave scenes are the spitting and axe scenes. Leo and Kate make a great on screen couple. My fave line is "he does landscapes". Excellent graphics! An epic masterpiece!
There is a secret new age army who uses paranormal abilities to defeat the enemy instead of weapons. Bob (Ewan) is a reporter who follows Lyn (George) to write a story about the new army. Kevin Spacey plays the bad guy and Jeff Bridges a hippie / army leader. It is very funny especially the dancing scene. It has dark humour like Burn After Reading without the witty lines. If you liked Burn After Reading, this is a close second cousin in humour. Good cast. Bonkers storyline but entertaining.
Excellent movie full of action and incredible tempo from start to finish. Bruce is looking great for his age! We only get to see a bit of the vest though! Justin hacks into a high security system only to discover that there is a terrorist organisation who is shutting down the states - electric, gas supplies etc. Bruce and Justin team up to catch the bad guys. Great special effects.
Not the best of the triology movies but still clever storyline and great characters. Doc is stuck in the Wild West and Marty goes back in time to save him.
Danny's crew are back together as Tony Bennett wants his money back with interest. They go to Europe to pull off some robberies to repay their debt. This storyline isn't as good as the first but it is still very clever and you can't help but swoon at Brad and George. Bruce Willis makes a cameo and Julia Roberts pretends to play herself Julia Roberts.
This animation is about a group of 9 fabric characters who are the last survivors on earth. The earth has been destroyed by machines that have taken over the world and they are killing everything in sight. Number 9, the last of the fabric characters convinces the others to destroy the machines rather than live in fear and hiding. Good animation. Quite dark, not suitable for young children.
Black comedy about students discussing current affairs with dinner guests, which leads to murder. Good cast, sees a young Cameron Diaz. Good plot and ending.
'This is it' is amazing. I found it mesmerising. I wanted to get up and dance in the cinema. It is a movie documenting the rehearsals for Michael's 'This is it' comeback tour. The footage was for Michael's own private collection and for him to review and fine tune the performances. The footage shows an intimate glimpse into the genius at work, the detail, the dedication and craft of the King of Pop. The movie is well done. It gives us an idea of how the concert would have been, the set, the line up, the dancers, etc. It would have been the best concert the world has ever seen. I was only 3 weeks away from seeing him live in London. I was devastated by his death. Though we are lucky it is the digital age, as we can see him living through his music and videos. He is a Legend and will never be forgotten.
