1
Shakespeare in Love (1998,  R)
Shakespeare in Love
Best romantic comedy out there.
2
Bright Young Things (2003,  R)
Bright Young Things
This has got to be my new favorite. Not a bad actor in sight. A very entertaining film.
3
The History Boys (2006,  R)
The History Boys
Deals with sexuality, education, and friendship. There was not one character that I found unlikeable, and the actors did a fantastic job portraying them. I throughly enjoyed the film but felt that something was missing. I guess a few things were lost between the transition from stage to screen, or maybe I enjoyed it a little too much and wasn't quite ready for it to be over. I must make a note to see the play first chance I get.
4
Love Actually (2003,  R)
Love Actually
It shows everything in a relationship. The good, the bad, the ugly, the akward, and the funny. It's also one of those movies thats good for watching on a rainy day or if you need something to put you in the Christmas mood.
5
Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001,  R)
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Okay, so it's about a German rocker who has a sex change. That's not what matters most. I have to admit that it is one of the best stage to screen movies I have ever seen. Let me just say that if you've ever had a broken heart you'll surely be able to relate to this movie. It was amazing!
6
Angels in America (,  Unrated)
Angels in America
Beautiful. That is how I would describe this mini series in just one world. Simply beautiful.
7
A Beautiful Mind (2001,  PG-13)
A Beautiful Mind
This movie was so good. It was deep. meaning full, and it was based on a true story. It lets you take a little look inside the mind of a brillant schizophrenic man played by Russell Crowe. I throughly enjoyed his portrayal of John Nash.
8
Capote (2005,  R)
Capote
Very well done. Philip Seymour Hoffman did an amazing job protraying Capote, and the fact that it wasn't really a biographical movie made it even more interesting.
9
Winter Passing (2006,  R)
Winter Passing
"Sometimes the people you need most are the ones you know the least." I cannot tell you how true that statement is. It was an excellent film. Fine acting, Adam Rapp's writing was fantastic.
10
The Shawshank Redemption (1994,  R)
The Shawshank Redemption
I finally got around to watching this flim last night and I must say that I'm having a hard time finding words. It was just a fantastic flim, and I wish that I would have watched it sooner.
11

Seabiscuit
A great movie with a great cast. It was very enjoyable.
13
Must Love Dogs (2005,  PG-13)
Must Love Dogs
This was one of the most perfect love stories ever. It's one movie I wouldn't mind watching over and over.
14
A Hard Day's Night (1964,  G)
A Hard Day's Night
For a big Beatles fan like me this film was perfect. Do I even need to mention how extremely funny that scene was with John in the bathtub?
15
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954,  G)
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The acitng was wonderful, the dancing was wonderful, and the singing was.... Well wonderful! It was over all just a wonderful film.

17
Singin' in the Rain (1952,  G)
Singin' in the Rain
You know, it really is to bad that they don't make movies like this anymore. This is one of my all time favorites.
18
The Man with Two Brains (1983,  R)
The Man with Two Brains
I'm giving this the title of "My Favorite Steve Martin Movie Ever". I think this little gem deserves it.
19
Young Frankenstein (1974,  PG)
Young Frankenstein
This is Gene Wilder at his best. It's one movie that I could watch over and over again.
20
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975,  R)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
This movie is the best! It's Tim Curry in drag! Not that I think that that's hot it's just Tim Curry... in DRAG!
21
Cradle Will Rock (1999,  R)
Cradle Will Rock
This movie really is "based on a (mostly) true story" It was an excellent movie in my book. It greatly depicts a historical event in musical theatre, and it also adds some fictional characters to the storyline, which I have no problem with. What else can I say?
22
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004,  R)
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
This movie is a little weird but I still loved it.
23
Little Children (2006,  R)
Little Children
Heavy, dark, and some of the scenes were a little disturbing. Not that it made the film any less enjoyable, for me anyway. As a matter of fact the only thing that I didn't like about the film was that there was voice over narration in the beginning of the film then it seemed to have disappeared then magically reappeared in the end. It would have been better if it was throughout the whole film.
24
Igby Goes Down (2002,  R)
Igby Goes Down
The acting was incredible, the script was very well written, the cinematography geat. A very enjoyable film.
25
ShowBusiness: The Road to Broadway (2007,  PG)
ShowBusiness: The Road to Broadway
Gives you a little peek inside what it really takes to get a show on Broadway. While watching it I came to the conclusion that Taboo really did get screwed over, some of the theatre critics are not very nice, and being an actor isn't all fun and games. I'm now proud to say that I have so much more respect for these people that put a show together than ever before. I just wish that they'd included something about Avenue Q's "Vote with your heart" Tony campaign, and wasn't it heartbreaking when Euan Morton lost his Working Visa and had to leave the country after Taboo closed?
26
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001,  R)
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
Interesting to say the least. First foreign film I've actually sat down and watched all the way through, and it was worth it.
27
All the President's Men (1976,  R)
All the President's Men
Made me want to go into the journalism business even more. All the note taking, digging for information, and that little hint of danger. I find all of that appealing. Good film with fantastic performances by Hoffman and Redford.
28
1776 (1972,  PG)
1776
I caught part of this on T.V. last night and I must say that it was an amazing film. The songs are quite lovely as well.
29
Ed Wood (1994,  R)
Ed Wood
This could quite possibly be my favorite Tim Burton film. Johnny was fantastic as was Martin Landau.
30
Breakfast on Pluto (2005,  R)
Breakfast on Pluto
Cillian Murphy was fantastic. A strangely uplifting film, with a great soundtrack to boot.
31
Bruce Almighty (2003,  PG-13)
Bruce Almighty
Another one of my favorite Jim Carrey movies.
32
Stranger Than Fiction (2006,  PG-13)
Stranger Than Fiction
It's too bad Will Ferrell wasted his talent on stupid, mindless comedies. If he kept up with it and really worked at it he could become a fine dramatic actor.
33
Magnolia (1999,  R)
Magnolia
Weird, but very engrossing.
34
The Cat's Meow (2001,  PG-13)
The Cat's Meow
Charming film. The costumes, script, and acting were all fantastic.
35
The Importance of Being Earnest (2002,  PG)
The Importance of Being Earnest
I loved it. Mr. Everett and Mr. Firth should never stop doing period pieces like this.
36
Little Miss Sunshine (2006,  R)
Little Miss Sunshine
I loved it, such a great film. Heartwarming, hilarious, and upsetting all at the same time.
37
Born Romantic (2001,  R)
Born Romantic
Why is it that all the European romantic films are the best? Maybe it's because they have a far better understanding of the subject than us Americans.
38
Catch Me If You Can (2002,  PG-13)
Catch Me If You Can
A very entertaining film, and a great pairing of Dicaprio and Hanks.
39
Recovery (2007,  Unrated)
Recovery
Heartbreaking. The performances were brilliant. I give it 5 stars just for that scene at the end with the song lyrics.
40
The Fall (2006,  R)
The Fall
Beautiful. Everything.
41
Doubt (2008,  PG-13)
Doubt
Philip Seymour Hoffman never ceases to amaze me. I love how he can transform himself simply and make you forget that he is Philip Seymour Hoffman. Amy Adams gave a performance that I was not expecting, and it's nice to see Meryl Streep playing a role suited for her age.
42
Watchmen (2009,  R)
Watchmen
Epically done. I loved it.
43
Stage Beauty (2004,  R)
Stage Beauty
Had a little bit of everything. Comedy, Drama, Romance. It may even be better than Shakespeare In Love, but it's hard to beat a love scene that invovles reciting Romeo and Juliet to one another while making love.
44
The Glass Menagerie (1987,  PG)
The Glass Menagerie
John Malkovich at his best.
45
Almost Famous (2000,  R)
Almost Famous
A fun film.
46
Waking the Dead (2000,  R)
Waking the Dead
Beautiful love story greatly enhanced by both Connelly and Crudup.
47
Moonpie (2007,  Unrated)
Moonpie
Sweet film, and immensely enjoyable.
48
Chaplin (1992,  PG-13)
Chaplin
Downey Jr. certainly deserved his Oscar nomination for this if not a win.
49
The Kid (,  Unrated)
The Kid
Proof that Chaplin is one of the greats when he can incite emotions without saying a word.
50
Flannel Pajamas (2006,  R)
Flannel Pajamas
Interesting film. I may even go so far as to call it a perfect film about romance.
51
Hamlet (1996,  PG-13)
Hamlet
In my opinion this is Branagh's best Shakespeare adaptation.
52
Duane Hopwood (2005,  R)
Duane Hopwood
4 stars for David Schwimmer for givnig a phenomenal performance and proving to me that he will not come off "Ross-like" in other roles. Half a star for using a Ben Folds song in the soundtrack.
53
The Theory of Flight (1998,  R)
The Theory of Flight
Shocking when you don't view it in its entirity, but ends up a very sweet film when you do. Probably the best role I've seen Carter in yet.
54
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (2005,  R)
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
Interesting plot line, intelligent humor, and great perfomances from Downey Jr. and Kilmer.
55
Pirate Radio (The Boat That Rocked) (2009,  R)
Pirate Radio (The Boat That Rocked)
The only criticism I have is that the deleted scenes should have been included in the film. Richard Curtis has a gift for making films that take you through this maze of emtions and by the end of them make you feel giddy.
