This is a take off of Dragon Woods and sort of continues the story of the kids. A little different but well worh he money. Should have won an award for great scenes, but never really got off the ground,
The "Fat Cat lassania loving" character is at it again. Roman has once again struck gold on this whimsical loving cat. I liked this one better than the other ones featuring Garfield. Roman snaked this one through with flying colors and then some...
I liked the Twinkle character in this one and as usual Jojo makes the show. A good christmas story for the Disney channel. It shows a refreshing new character in this portrayel with Twinkle leading the way. It is an awesome movie for the family, although a few things in the script ws borrowed from a couple of other regular christmas movies. Over all the top25 at Christmas time movies...
Another side of Randy Travis. Not only does he act well, he is also noted in the Country /Western circles with some great music videos - he portrays another side of him..probably one of the best films he played a character in. Check it out, worth the time, believe me.
This highly, under rated, under scored movie was one of the top 20 1953 movies available. Roman Holiday was a well written and humerous type b movie that was only surpassed by Wizard of Oz, Holiday Inn, and a few others during this 1953 movie. This movie as well as Jerry Lewis /Dean Martins Delicate Delinquet was very low budgeted - but in its time was one of the best that never took the spotlight much....
If you like the Olsen twins, you will enjoy this whimsical mythic adventure by the two girls, although the twins have done well in their past, due to the series Full House, where they proved unstereotyped like many other childhood stars. This movie is a hit on its own. It displays humor, seriousness, and a little adventure, just what the doctor ordered....
Thompson did this film well, and the change of "tough guy Rhames" brings the character out well. Although playing a gay person Rhaimes brings out the best in the over all plot and continues to do so, throughout the film, a wise choice for the leading actor...
This classical, upbeat movie for its time was never really off the ground. It delves into a little be devilment, love, jealousy, and yet, carried a well established plot. I found this old classic movie on a dusty shelf at a rental store and wanted to check it out. I was surprised at the characture portrayels and the plot. Surprisingly it was a decent movie....You ever get a chance, check it out, if you can still find it....
Durbin and Kelly team up well in this satiric movie, as with Rodgers as a co-star in previous and later films - Kelly stands out well as a corrigible old fellow, but don't underestimate this movie, one of his best......
How can you go wrong on this one? With the likes of Gabby Hayes, John Wayne, Walter Pidgeon and some other great stars rolled up in one top-knotch movie? Some of the "best of the best actors" played in this charismatic movie as Wayne was a U.S. Marshall chasing Quantrell down.
Kenny Rodgers plays his role well, a continuance of his "The Gambler" I loved where he had cameo appearances from some the "Old Best of the West series " With good old Bat Masterson, Cheyenne Bouty,Sugar foot, and a few other old characters. Quite a difference in this one and the original he played. It was nice to see some of the "Old fifty and sixety " series stars.
Bradford and Mimi Rogers, teamed with Bruce Davison on Borsos film here. It is heart warming, humerous and beautiful scene shots. The caring of his retriever and himself, Bradford takes the film to new horizon. A lot of the scenery was gorgeous, and if you get a chance scope it out. It rates right up their with "Old Yeller" and "Red Fern".....
With the like of Grant, Monroe, and Rogers, the dynamic trio finds themselves in a wild, humerous, delicate situation - similiar to Lewis's Nutty Professor. This film reeks with humor and a story plot al its own....
In this 1991 movie the beloved Mimi Rogers and David Duchony (x files star) was a challenge to any movie produced during that American Films experience was probably one of the best-a high budget film that was recognized later down the road. A different part than what we are use to from Duchovny x files and a few previous films he was in.
The original Buck Rogers (Gil Gerard) recovers from a deep sleep and comes to earth defense. Many original characters were available, with the like of Henry Silva,Erin Gray, and Pam Hensley. A movie that will exceed or catch "Star Wars" special affects category. It was good to see most of the original cast back from the series. I have to admit Haller put togather a good crop film here......
Ginger Rogers, Doris Day, and Ronald Reagan, star in this climatic movie of 1951. This movie is a moving plot, and you have to keep up with it. A touch of gold and mink surround this one of a Klu Klux leader and the fraility of the South when the shows time period in the past. deep roots fans will like this one...Reagon lovers and Day lovers will cherish this one....
Will Rogers, one of the best in his time stars in this one. A movie you want to own or rent. A lot of great scenarios in this film, one of Wills best of the best. How can you not like Will Rogers in this one as the Lawyer trying to free a young man from a Bank Robbery he did not commit....
Giger Rogers and Fred Astaire are teamed up once again for a romantic and pleasant time. Dolores Del Rio and Gene Raymond help this swiftly moving romantic plot along - was one of Del Rios best character portrayal. One of the many classicals you don't want to miss.....
Johnny Depth did well in this one, but lacks the charisma in some of his former movies. It has a different taste than the norm here-but over all the movie had a lot of excellent effects, make up artistry, and "plain Jane plot" it is a movie JD did well in, but could have had some more plottage to it or a surprise ending.
Another good family movie put out by Disney, probably one of the better ones put out in the past 20 years, doesn't lack to much but, as all Disney films very family oriented
A story of middle earth, destined to become a classic in the years ahead-the scenes and special effects are huge and lively...Lord of the Ring series will alway be in my heart as a great movie as the whole serie itself is
The continuing story of Harry Potter at its best. I read the whole book series many moons ago and this particular book entry, made into movie form is the closest to the book itself...It lags a little here and there, but overall a best bet for Potter lovers and those into the films......
This 1978 film is now a classic and should well be. Talk about charisma between actors? Man, this has got it. From great music to a winning academy and oscars, this show was well put togather. Everyone in this movie seemed to click right off the bat. The music was great and with Channing, Travolta, John, and others in the movie, it was quite well done. A movie you might want to own for yourself....
I liked this one, but not one of my top picks-it has some fantastik scene effects and the stars worked well togather, the plot is a simple one, but very intriguing, hated the ending
What an all star cast - Myers, Diaz, Murphey,Hunt, and Lithgrow it pans out to be a wonderful and comical, whimsical tale. A familys best friend show.....
This film transferred from the movie onto stage was well done, however, you can not make another Oklahoma. I missed the original players in this one. For me, it brought back some great memories, but you just can't beat the original in this one....
This 1998 film debued in 1999. It was not as good as the original, but it did have some good 1 - 2 -3 punch as the first one. It lacked a little charisma from the first, but still a decent movie over all.....
One of the top 15 musicals in the History of musical classics. What a show. It had practically everything in it. Julie Andrews and Hamilton ,with the young children is classic all its own. This movie was one of the greatest in time! If you haven't seen it, get it! I was 16 when I was invited to attend its opening and I reluctently went, man, was I taken a back on this one! I think then and their that I wanted to be critic of the movies and later after Vietnam I did so. I was really encouraged from this movie - a movie I will always keep close to my heart Today it is considered one of the best movies ever to be produced....
This movie is fairly well done. Sometimes the character were lost in the transitional scenes, but has a good message in it-Based on the partial hit song - "When the Music Dies"
Talk about charisma, Preston and Jones make this movie. Buddy Hacket in this one is a younger version of him, and comes off this film as a laugh and gas guy, more or less. This movie is one of the greats to come along in the 60's era. A sound movie with plenty of funny stuff, serious stuff, and all the ingredients of a well acted, well performed movie.
This film is not as good as the orginal, but have to give Wilson her due, she portrayed the characters well. I hated where she was turned into a princess - that was unexpected. I felt that Broderick was a little lame in this one, but the scenes were quite well done. I wished there would have been more attention to the story lines here, but alas they fell rather flat. I chose this one as one of my favorites here due to some really good acting in some of the scenes, but also hoped one would see the comparison to the many other favorite movies of mine.
Here is a good film for us oldsters. a lot of memories in this one. A ot of oldies and goodies. A little on the odd ball side, but the film is more like a biography than movie, but it has a lot of old time cameo appearances by many old music stars..
This film delves deep into North Korea's lifestyle and a great movie to come out of its kind. A look at the gymnist from korea and how her life shaped in a true story of a great wonderful gymnist. Korea is a culture all its own and a film worth having.
A new re-make from the original movie. Smith keys in as a different and more serious actor here. It is better than the original. Lot of action and proves, the government can be very ruthless when it wants to be. Good acting all the way around...
Chris Rock directs and stars in this one. A whimsical, but serious state of affairs he is put into. Good filming and action throughout most of the film. This one I think all would enjoy. Scenery shots are great, as well as a good charisma in the actors.
Another great Star Wars Traditional film - Lucas played these out well. all the Star Wars episodes have been fantastic. I did miss many of the original cast, but over all well done!
The great movie with harrison ford, carrie fisher, mark hamil, and others. This is the continuing saga of Star Wars. I think this is one of the best of the series. Excellent footage and special effects, well plotted, well acted, well done, A great movie...
This epic animated movie is full of mysticism and footage of Angels battling nemesis angels. Well animated, excellent plottage, exceptional special affects all rolled into one. One of the great animated films to come out.
I wish a little better animation would have been portrayed here. It is a heart warming and tender story of a little girl who mends a star and they journey through many times together. A whimsical, fairy tale type film, but well done for what little was used.
Hugh Wilson directs this cute, whimsical, heart rendereing, loveable film. Strange things happen in this one. A well rounded family film, you have to see to believe...
Hyou Kim Joo really makes a great debut here. If your unfamiliar with foreighn films, this one shines as she really plays her role well. great effects here, and a lot more surprises than expected from a oriental type movie.
You talk about edan and Elvis teaming up, you got a good idea of the charisma here. This was one of "The Kings" first movies. Here you see a real young Elvis and Edan. A truly and vibrant movie. At first, when Irated this movie for the High School Journalism class I did not recognize Elvis or Edan. Here is a younger and more open Elvis and Edan. I rated this movie a 3 star when it came out. I still feel it is a classic and someday, hope it is among the top classical movies. Here is another and more open sided Edan and Pressley...
Cooper come out strong in his character role. This rendition follows an orginal movie from the 50's - 60's ere. A wonderful performance. It has a lot of flashbacks from the past and is easy to understand the history back ground of the movie, It is a well done modern day western movie. Worth your time to watch - especially those of us who remember the 50's westerns, such as: Have Gun Will Travel. Maverick, The Rebel, Gun smoke,Cheyenne, Wyatt Earp, F Troop, Bat Masterson, and other western movie. It got a lot of Raw Hide, Wagon Train, Under the Big Top, High Noon, and other things sprinkled in throughout the movie.
This updated series to movie by Roddenberry shines, as did Star Wars and future films of this nature, It was a fantastical change of" moviedom " This film was based on the original series "Star Trek" It was nominated for a lot of awards in the Movie Industry. A film someday that will be a Classic.
This film is rather confusing, but is well acted and directed, once you understand the plot. It takes off as a slow moving film, then picks up later. Don't leave the film until it gets 1/3 of the way through, then is when all comes to main plot. The roles actresses and actors played were slow to come around, but this movie really shines in the latter part of the film....
A really fantastic look of Brue Lee. In this one the philosphy is well done. The question is, Did someone actually shoot Lee deliberately to "Keep his mouth shut on the Philosphy of Kung Foo? A good movie, probably one of Lee's best roles.
The original movie of Ben the rat. Willard is a take off from this movie and STARS - GUESS WHO? Jackson himself when he was a younger boy. Later Jackson was to become famous for { songs and videos, as well as a "never, Never world he builds on his estate, which later lands him in the Superior Court for possibly mis handling hands(need I say more) This film, however is a heart and tear jerker movie if you like pet rats and how society treats them.
This movie could have used a little help, but due to the music from Don Quixotie stage show was great. unfortunately with this stage play being put on film, it loses its roles and acting ability, as was portrayed on Broadway and other stages.
This movie is not near as well done as the original "The Day of The Jackal" filmed around 1972 or so. Although Willis does well in this, just does not have the original down to earth plot. It is more upbeat and modernized, in which sometimes as this film proved -"You can't bring back the Magic of the original:! However, it is petty much similiar from the first. not bad all around, It can't replace the orginal.
This film is one of Carys better ones-at comedy, fun, and seriousness in one! A little different role than that of mask or some of his other films-a little off beat but funny
Although this film is less cartoonish in its making, it proved to be a good family movie. This film is taken directly from the comic strips and Saturday cartoon shows, Conroy and Delaney do well in their roles. A splendid after take from the 60's cartoon world. well acted and well done, with lots of special effects.
Newman, Tandy, and Willis reall have the cosmetic charisma here. All 3 actors are well rounded and add that special inner action many of us have seen from their past performances in other movie reels. A lot of nostalgia here.
Freeman, Eastwood and Hackman team up in this one and has an exceptional and well played charisma all their own - I think this is one of the better movies from the later western films.
After Eastwoods Josey Wales movie, here he makes a wonderful come back, This movie is intriging and unusual for Eastwood who also produced this one. Eastwood is at his best in this one...
A great return to the mvies for Hingle. After being absent since his main part in the series "Green Acres" Hingle comes out strong in this one, backed by Eastwood and Dillman. It reminds you of the "Old Series" Buttram and Hingle did in their earlier years when they tag teamed for some earlier classical movies, but here Hingle is well roled and the charisma is great! A different brand of movie for Eastwood as well.
A sleeper film that proved many wrong. With Streep and Eastwood (who also directed this one) combines tears, sorrow, plot and story combined into a wonderful and beautiful story. One for History Book of Classic Films down the road. When this one first came out, I rated this movie in a popular News Paper and did not miss one iota of this one, I was" right on" with this one. A true sleeper that turned out to be a very great movie...
Eastwood directed and starred in this one. This movie a classic from days gone by. Walter plays her part well here. Eastwood who played his role as: DJ Dave Garver (based on a true story) suggests and shows how DJ's get some real live reality type phone calls in their business. This one is a fantastic tale of truth, legend, and sadness, but in the end it has a great twist.
Eastwood kind of flopped on this one. A little less action than normal in this one. In later films Eastwood brings back what he was known for: Action, romance, and Adventure. This film is a rather uncharacteristic for him and the stars. A lot of good film clips though. But, unfortunately, not one of his better movies...Otherwise the movie is well roled....
Here astwood and Lee really bounce back and have tremendous charisma. This movie has humor, credibility, excellent roles, and excells in two movie in one! This was one of the great come backs for Eastwood.
This movie had a lot of thrills for Sheean who was in his prime at the time. Eastwood kind of losly filled in on this one movie plot. I expected better from Eastwood, but rather disappointed in this action, commercial, type film.
With Locke and Eastwood teaming up. it is rather humerus in its wake, a litle whimsical and player over ride. Other than that, this film is i a category all its own....
A highly under sored Movie, in which should have had better reviews-this show is highly under rated. Based on a true story, Eastwood portrays the better of his film making. In this film he really shines in a new side of him...Don't mis judge this movie by its cover.
Here is one of Eastwoods greatest films, with wife Bullock kicking in. It is a "Southern Born" gentleman who refused to surrender and headed West to seek a new life, and their he does find himself in a great traditional Indian/Western regalia. a touch of magic that filters throughout the whole movie.
here is Eastwoods 2nd film he produced. A well written, scripted, role playing, action packed, western. Lead by the best dwarf ever Billy Curtis, A movie for the "Hall of Fame" someday!
Many rated this film as poor when it first arrived on the movie scene! How wrong they were. You couldn't match Richard Burtons portrayel and Eastwoods first movie he ever starred in. I was on my First tour of Vietnam when I seen this one. And since have been an avid follower of Eastwood. I remembered him from the old western TV series "Rawhide" and thus fell in love with an actor and his life. I would later be honored to see some of the films to rate and write about later in my life.
This film was the first one I seen after returning home from my second tour in Vietnam! I align myself closely with this one. It is what predjudism is all about, between white and Indian . In the later films Laughlin made in 1976 and 78 as the saga continued. I really loved this one. It was a classic and someday I hope Laughlin is given the chance for a "Hall of Fame" Classic. If you have never seen this reel, it is a must!
In this war time movie, it is a classical with the likes of Savalas, Eastwood,O'Conor,Rickles, and Sutherland. It reflects great charisma between these highly popular actors, in a movie that is a "Must See"!
With the whimsical Orangutan Clyde he continues the original movie: "Every which way but Loose" The Orangutan takes full front throttle on this one....
A movie that has all the pop and grandeur you want! The Orangutan Clyde makes his debut and this film comes off as totally different from Eastwood prior movies. Humerus, comical, funny, but with a good plot and a whole lot of fun!
The original animated version and well done for its time. It was nice to see this one come out of the Vault. This movie has a lot of memories for me, thus I keep it close to my heart.Later versions came out, but never had the class this one did!....
One of the best to come out of the kung foo film studios. It is well acted, well played, and plenty of action. I would stack this one up against any of the the top 50 movies to come out, including Bruce Li and any martial art films ever produced.
A great movie directed and played by Tom Laughlin. You think the original was good? Check this one out. Talk about prejudism, this is a good portrayal of it.
This is th continuing and final chapter of Billy Jack. If you missed the original and The Trial of Billy Jack, you do not want to miss this one.Laughlin sails in this one and expands the chapter! A sad ending, but well worth the time and effort.
A well written, heart rendering story of Alcoholic couple. Jack Lemmon is at his best in this one. This show has an interesting story and true to this day, how alcohol can destroy a marriage, until one decides to quit and "wake up" to reality! I can relate to this movie well...It is a masterpiece made from excellent charisma and charm.
This movie I enjoyed tremendously, as it went into more of a background of the original Marvel hero Ghostrider. It was well cast and a look deeper into Ghost Riders past history. The plot was well done, color and action well done. A real carmer that will become a classic someday....
With this movie it lacked the gelling of the orginal Grease with John Travolta-this one was set in the 60's using cycles. I liked this movie, but it lacked the main plot as the first one. The music was great, and the lead characters did well-unfortunately, this film was a little slow to take off.
