Shaun of the Dead
R
OMG this movie is so funny! I tried to watch dawn of the dead, I closed my tv right away. but this, it was great! Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are looking so stupid and funny in this!
2.
Equilibrium
R
This movie is amaizing. Seriously, I really felt the emotions of Christian Bale's caracter (I know it can sounds stupid but its true!!). People compare this movie to the Matrix, but I won't. I think its very diffrent and Christian is a lot better than Keanu. You must watch this movie once in your life.

Eragon
by EdA farm boy, Luke Skywalker, sets out on a journey along with his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi to save Princess Leia, who is being held captive by the evil ruler of the galaxy, Darth Vader.
Oh shit! Wrong movie....Meh, close enough. Just sub in a Lord of the Rings setting, change the character names, and you have the story of Eragon.posted 15 days ago -

Saw V
by EdWhy you should see Saw V:
1. The filmmakers approach the story seriously and really try to make a tense, scary horror movie built around a good story.
2. Lower your expectations and it is an efficient 90 minute feature with good production value. Saw has by far the best produced sequels of any horror movie franchise.
3. Plenty of gore, elaborate kills, and creative traps to please blood-thirsty fans.
4. Tobin Bell is a fantastic actor. He is the most entertaining person to watch onscreen and his performance captures all the nuances and complexities that make Jigsaw such an interesting character.
5. Saw V favors the story element over the torture elements. In that sense, it elevates the franchise above the level of "torture porn" in favour of analyzing the morality behind Jigsaw's methods.
Why you shouldn't see Saw V:
1. Just because the filmmakers tried to make a good story doesn't mean they succeeded.
2. I didn't like the first Saw because I felt every plot twist was a blatant gimmick to make the movie go on for 90 minutes (Roger Ebert's review says it best). Likewise, the plot twists and revelations in the Saw sequels, including Saw V, also feel like cheap excuses to make more Saw movies.
3. Where is the logic in the concept? How in God's name is the killer able to create these traps? I mean, where does he get the resources to mold a seven foot metal swinging ax pendulum? And how many abandoned warehouses are out there that he can find to put his victims through his "games"?
4. Booming heavy metal music does not build tension and suspense, nor does quick, flashy music video editing.
5. Uneven pacing. The long stretches of convoluted narrative gets really exhausting. The flashbacks within flashbacks only make the narrative even more confusing and impossible to follow.posted 21 days ago -

W.
by EdKudos to Oliver Stone. Here is a film about arguably one of the most hated presidents of all time, and Stone is able to make you sympathize wholeheartedly with the man. I'm surprised it wasn't longer. The film isn't as controversial as you'd expect a biopic from Oliver Stone to be; he barely mentions the controversy surrounding Bush's 2000 election. It's more about Bush's early years, how the burdens of having to follow in your father's footsteps can shape who you will become and the decisions you will make in similar circumstances. But regardless, this is a strong film with some great performances. I'd love to see Josh Brolin get an Oscar nomination. James Cromwell, Ellen Burstyn, and Elizabeth Banks are fantastic. And will someone please recognize jeffrey Wright as one of the greatest actors of our generation. If his role here were any bigger, he would have run away with the movie!

Appaloosa
by EdAppaloosa isn't the perfect generic western that 3:10 to Yuma was, nor is it a stunning reinvention of the genre like The Assassination of Jesse James, but it's still too good a film to be dismissed. There's a lot of humour and that's quite unique for a western. I loved the friendship between the two main characters. Renee Zellweger is god-awful, but at least there are four other performances that compensate: Viggo, Harris, Irons, and Ariadna Gill.

Quarantine
by EdI've never seen the original [Rec}, although Quarantine is supposed to be an almost shot-for-shot remake. Judging from this film, I can only how imagine how awesome the original Spanish film must be, because this version is pretty sweet.
The last twenty minutes are especially intense. Jennifer Carpenter's performance could be taken as overacting, but really, almost anyone could be going on like how she does if put in a similarly intense situation. I find it funny how so many people laugh at horror movies now because they think they're so much smarter than the characters. Quick question to those people: how would you be able to survive Quarantine?
Sometimes the camera angles feel a bit too staged, especially since they're going for that Cloverfield-Blair Witch feel. And while Quarantine may not be as good as Cloverfield, it's one of the better horror movies of the year, and I know it'll certainly feel more satisfying than Saw V.Hey, you should really see this!

Body of Lies
by EdFreaking excellent! Of all the movies made about the Iraq war, this is the best of the lot! It's light on action, but heavy on great performances, great dialogue, and great drama! After watching this, I suggest you pick up a copy of NBC correspondent Richard Engel's book War Journal. That book told it like it is in the Middle East and so does this movie.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
by EdBefore Sunrise, Once, and Juno. I was hoping to add Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist to that list, but sadly, this film doesn't offer much more than a bunch of characters acting stupidly. Michael Cera is great, and he has perfect timing when it comes to making the audience laugh, but the film doesn't give him nor any of the supporting actors much to work with. The film is basically Nick and Norah falling in love while they search for Norah's drunk friend, who seems to be on her own little adventure.
There are some sweet romantic moments here, but nothing that hasn't been done before and better in the three films I mentioned above.posted 30 days ago -
