Mystery Train
R
I loved the last episode (please put Buscemi in every f*ckin movie) waaay more than the others. Jarmusch's style and atmospheres always catch my attention and every movie is a pleasure...
Die Nacht der lebenden Loser (Night of the Living Dorks)
Unrated
A wannabe Shaun of the dead. Failed attempt, try again. No, wait, don't do it.
Frontière(s) (Frontier(s))
NC-17
Hostel made in France. The first half was good, the violence was well pictured and I had tension. Then the final battle between the girl and the Nazi gang was too long and it became boring. Written - probably - by a Texas Chainsaw Massacre geek.
El Orfanato (The Orphanage)
R
To be honest, Orphanage isn't original. Being 75% The Others and 25% Pan's Labyrinth, it lacks in new ideas but it's very good and creepy.
The Secret of Roan Inish
PG
I should watch it again, because I was sleepy when I saw it. However, Irish stuff is always good to me.

Chasing Amy
R
Here's the final chapter of the "New Jersey Trilogy" by Kevin Smith. Surely less fun and sleazy than Clerks and Mallrats, more mature and touching, with usual Kevin Smith's original dialogues, weird theories about sex, friendship and meaning of life :) Brilliant.

Quantum of Solace
by PierluigiThe absolute monarch of the spy genre is back with a kick ass look and feel, fucking live and let die on speed!
An orgy of 007 universe that barely lets us breath. It shakes and stirs Bond canon but also keeps Bond psyche as the core of the story, expanding his arc, continuing to show his crusade, and the ferocious battle against himself and everybody else who dares to get in his way. Marc Forster wisely injects art-house feel to it, and Daniel Craig proves he is the best right behind Sir Sean.
Bond's world is upside down and the movie is done that same way; a cold blooded assassin's journey to recover sanity.Hey, you should really see this!
Better than Casino Royale? definitely not...
Give it a try anyway... for Bond fans it is like heaven.posted 7 days ago -

Dancer in the Dark
by RamakI always love the musicals, but this is realy some thing more than it.
Selma makes you calm, when you are drowning in the depth of anger & sadness. Hey! do really people pay for their lives?!
It?s adoring that how Trier find these points. Oh Lars never see the life as the same point of others. No one could imagine like him & have the ability to make his imaginations come true? well I told u he is a GENIUS. YEAH.
Do not forget the Bjork?s great performance. She remind u that if some one is perfect, well she/he is perfect no matter in which part. As she is quintessential in both her musics & movies. Lovely one...Hey, you should really see this!

The Bridge
by SerdarThey film the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco for a year to record the footage of the suicides. 24 suicides happen that year and they film most of them. They tell the story of a few of the jumpers, talk to their families and friends. They mostly focus on the Gene character which is quite interesting. A friend of Gene's says "He had people who loved him here. If I see him again I'd say that he hurt me" Even with the best actors and story and music and whatever, you can't create such drama on screen. It's a very good idea for a documentary but it could use a better editing.
Disturbing but very interesting documentary...

Control
by SerdarI met Joy Division in another movie, 24 Hour Party People, some time ago and I've been enjoying their music very much since then. Ian Curtis is one of the most interesting front men ever and this is a very good biopic about him. The movie is not about the group, it's about the man. It's about one of the biggest tragedies in music history. The acting by Sam Riley is hypnotic and the resemblance is incredible. It may be the best impersonation in movies, ever. Thinking the state the film has put me in, I'm very worried about the actor. The beautiful black and white colors help the movie a lot, I don't think it would make the same effect in color.
I've been wanting to see this for a long time and finally saw it on a rainy autumn morning, the perfect timing and it messed me up real good.Let's dance to Joy Division and celebrate the irony/ Everything is going wrong but we're so happy...

Burn After Reading
by MagaliI like it when I go to the cinema to see a comedy and there are only few of us laughing. In my opinion, that indicates that the humour is good. Otherwise people would laugh exaggeratedly and I hate that!
This movie was just the kind of comedy I like, a Coen's comedy; with that weird humour that comes from bizarre situations.
I never thought that there was a funny actor in Brad Pitt. His performance is great here! And just in case you're thinking about watching this film because you think he's cute... this will probably not work for you.
The cast is great and non of them fails to add that special thing to their character.
So, "what have we learned from all this?" Women always win! lolHey, you should really see this!

Wristcutters - A Love Story
by SerdarThere is life after love!
Solid first movie from Goran Dukic. Well if a movie starts with a Tom Waits song, nothing can make me not like the movie.
People that committed suicide is sent to another world which is even worse than this one. Our guy Zia commits suicide after his girlfriend dumps him. He finds himself in this place and finds out the girl also killed herself and starts to look for her. With his good friend Eugene and beautiful Mikal. It's a good black comedy that has a few things to say about love. You feel like dying when it's over but there is life after death.
Love will tear us apart again..Hey, you should really see this!

Amistad
by MagaliEven that stupid McConaughey guy is good here.
I think this film is really worth watching. It's moving, it's sad, it's happy and it's even funny at some parts. The performances are all pretty good. And the story that is told is one that we should not ignore. The worst part is that it must have been even worse.Hey, you should really see this!

The First Wives Club
by MagaliI think that when a movie is no masterpiece and no piece of shit, you can like it or dislike it depending on the context in which you watch it.
In my case, "The First Wives Club" appeared on TV one Saturday night when I was at home with some friends. We were trying to make one of us feel good after having a terrible argue with his boyfriend. And just when we were out of words, this modest and pretty silly film started.
It IS a chick flick. It succeds in making us girls feel good about ourselves without caring much about those stupid guys that hurt us and focusing in our girlfriends.
And, since that was exactly what we were needing at that time, I'm giving it 3 and a half stars. It was the right movie, at the right time, in the right place.Hey, you should really see this!
