I wouldn't label this as a comedy, but more of a drama. It was like watching a man's childhood dreams/illusions get shattered. If that's what you're looking for, then this may be for you. There were a few funny parts, but laughing at them was almost a guilty pleasure-- the funniest scenes either were due to dysfunctional relationships or mean treatment by other people. Altogether, it left me in a melancholic mood

This isn't a knee-slapper, but more of a tongue-in-cheek kind if comedy. I caught several double-entendres in the film, but I left the theater with a vague sense that there was more to it than what I got from the first viewing. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I think some of the hidden meanings in verbal banter blew right past me during the action-packed sequences. I'll be renting this on DVD and watching it again...probably several times to see what else I can pick up. I do recommend this if you like that sort of comedy. Rather more like British humor, if you catch my drift.
