1.
Reservoir Dogs
R
Maybe not Tarantino's best, but this movie is without a doubt my own personal favorite. The action, the dialogue, the script, the acting. Everything about this movie is absolutely excellent. And just flat out fucking cool.
2.
American Beauty
R
This movie is, without a doubt, a perfect movie. The acting, script, story, directing, cinematography, symbolism. All of it is absolute perfection. Both hilarious and touching at the same time.
3.
The Big Lebowski
R
Without a doubt, the movie with the most rewatchability that I've ever seen. It's also one of the easiest to quote. Absolutely hilarious and overlooked performances by entire cast. It's very easy to laugh at the outer layers of this film, but even after you've seen it 20 times you'll find more to entertain yourself with.
4.
Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso)
R
This film touched my soul in a way I don't think a film ever has before. I cried through probably half of it, and a good portion of that is probably due to the beautiful score by Ennio Morricone. Do make sure to see the director's cut. It's a bit long at 3 hours, but I promise you will not be dissappointed.
5.
Fight Club
R
This movie is absolutely wonderful. Norton and Pitt give performances of a lifetime, and I couldn't have imagined a better fit for a director than the skilled Fincher.
6.
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
PG
Who knew the cold war could be so fucking funny? Like most of Kubrick, it may take a couple of viewings to really appreciate it. But I guarantee you, it's fried gold.
