Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull PG-13
I am very jaded about this film, hence the good score, because so much nostalgia plays into it. I loved this movie! Harrison Ford is still the two-fisted Archeologist and should be proud. Shia Lebouf fit into the cast perfectly. A fun ingredient in the Indy mythos. Karen Allen's return seemed rushed, but she was fun to watch. The script seemed rushed also. It is the weakest plot of all of Indy's adventures. However, it still works, though. A big surprise even came in the early first half and the only hint I can give is it is a Blast! I found Ray Winstone and Cate Blachett's characters to be rather useless. Cate had to play the most boring bad guy in Indy history and Ray's double agent never really played out. Then again, their roles were meant to be small and should be accepted as filler, The climax of the film seemed to take place on a simple sound stage and even with a nice segment of a Mayan temple's demise and the surprise after, something seemed to be missing. Oh, it must have been the Mayan people's involvement that was missing. The Mayan people weren't represented at all! I thought there was actually a huge scene missing. Shouldn't the Mayan People have been protecting the secret? Couldn't the mayan people have been guarding this 'kingdom'? Shouldn't Indy have befriended them? It just felt like there should have been a bigger ending instead of being stuck in a round room. I even felt some passion was missing with how Indy discovered that he had a son and between he and Marion, but I digress. I love to nitpick about my fave saga. That all being said, this is still a fun, fun movie. I felt great watching it and I applaud Spielberg, Lucas and company for the newest chapter of The Indy Saga.
Fight Club Fight Club R
Tremendously good. Ed Norton knocks it out of the park. He even dethrones Brad Pitt as the number one guy to watch. but they both shine. A lot of depth in the plot so put your thinking cap on.
