I used to be on facebook's flixster but I transferred to get more hardcore about movies and have some real discussion/debate.
As you can tell by my favorite movies, I love good, thought-provoking cinema but also stupid, gory Zombie movies (i.e. Dawn of the Dead) and stupid, R-rated comedies (i.e. Dodgeball) or, even better, a combination of the two (i.e. Shaun of the Dead). |

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
R
Yeah, it's kind of predictable and reminds A LOT of Knocked Up and other Apatow movies. But in the end it's a laugh-out-loud fun-fest. What else could you want in a movie experience?
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed
PG
What a bunch of bullshit. Please don't see this in respect of evolution, science and REAL intelligence.
The Fifth Element
PG-13
This movie is SOOO well done. Definitely give it a shot, no matter how bad it may look. If only to see Luke Perry in his post-Beverly Hills glory. One of the most imaginative sci-fi movies ever made. And that's saying a lot.
I, Robot
PG-13
What an excellent adaptation of Isaac Asimov's story. Will Smith excels in these types of roles. This is by far his best sci-fi movie. The movie also raises a lot of questions about what it means to be human. It's amazing how it makes you sympathize with those older, discarded models of robots. It's a heart-breaking scene when they get together and fight for Will Smith in the junkyard scene. Great directing here.
The Mist
R
Great right up until the ending, which was confusing. I don't want to spoil anything, but why wouldn't they just wait a little longer? Use the gun when death is inevitable!
Excellent Lord of the Flies-like societal breakdown, however. Loved that.
Finding Neverland
PG
What a fantastically wonderful movie. The acting is top-notch, headlined by a superb Johnny Depp and a surprising Kate Winslet. Definitely the best of the Peter Pan movies.
