The Brothers Bloom - PG-13 This movie kind of felt like a high school play where they spend all of their time rehearsing the first act, which comes out great. Then remember hey, isn't there supposed to be an ending at some point? Aw crap. I liked the movie though, I must have a soft spot for Rian Johnson and his ridiculous self-aggrandising movies. It's cool Rian, I forgive you. I'll probably like it even more if I watch it again. December 13, 2009

Fantastic Mr. Fox - PG Loved it! I was a little weird towards it going in and incredibly tired, so there were elements working against this movie. Still, it totally won me over. I would definitely watch this sucker again. It blew Where The Wild Things Are out of the water. December 6, 2009

Funny People - R Sure, it was okay, I laughed. It was about an hour too long and that's why I'll never watch it again. November 28, 2009

The Twilight Saga: New Moon - PG-13 Fucking atrocious.
It was nice that they finally found a DP worth a damn who knew his head from his ass and could frame a nice shot but that didn't put up for the emphasis on the terrible fucking acting.

There needed to be more wolfpack scenes. Less Kristen Stewart because she can't act her way out of a wet paper bag. Same goes for you Rob Patz. Also, don't put a shirtless pasty powder puff in the same movie next to a bronzed up sexy dude.

I was excited for the fight at the end but it sucked. It's great that someone on staff loved the X-Men, especially the Nightcrawler scenes but it didn't translate here.

Randomly- I really wanted Bella and Carlisle to hook up in that one scen- you know the one. Of course this movie failed to deliver there, like it failed to deliver in every other scene. Because it suuuuuckkkked.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - PG-13 Terrible. I liked the first one but half way into this one I didn't care. Optimus dead- who gives a crap? Two dogs humping each other, gets the same treatment, who cares? Seriously, who cared enough about this movie to even make it? November 23, 2009

Terra (Battle For Terra) - PG This could have been so much better than it was.

I blame Evan Rachel Wood.
(Her alien character reminded me of Eliza Dushku though, lol.)

Where the Wild Things Are - PG It was okay. I thought they tried to explain a lot in the beginning about why Max was such a buster... then half way through the movie I think the writer must have quit. Or they at least stopped trying to explain why everything was so lame and depressing.

I'd watch it again, the puppets were awesome. Thinking about it was where I went wrong.

Gran Torino - R I felt bad about laughing at a lot of the stuff that I did in this movie. Clint Eastwood blew this movie away. The only downside to me was the guy who played the priest. I felt like that dude couldn't act worth a damn. October 12, 2009

Adventureland - R It was kind of like a lamer version of Almost Famous. I loved Bill Hader though! October 12, 2009

King Corn - Unrated It was alright. I just had a hard time watching a movie about a couple bros dicking around something something CORN. October 4, 2009

Glengarry Glen Ross - R this movie had a crazy cast... it would have been a lot better if it had ended w/ Alec Baldwin's monologue, which was the second scene. September 23, 2009

District 9 - R I didn't like it initially but I think it'll be like other movies I've seen in the past where the more I think about it the more I'll like it. August 18, 2009

Time Bandits - PG Don't you just love it when someones acid trip gets made into a movie? August 2, 2009

The Butterfly Effect - R First movie in my unofficial time travel movie marathon and I've got to say, it's gonna be hard to top this one is sheer hilarity.

Stumps for arms? Pedophilia? Baby 'sploding? This movie was effed in the aaaaaaa. I would say the hardest thing to buy though was Kutch being the star pupil of his psychology class.

Fast and Furious - PG-13 I wanted balls to the wall action and that's what I got. Also a lot of Vin Diesel making faces that were supposed to convey some emotion that I never fully understood. Is bad ass an emotion? Fuck it- Vin Diesel made it one. July 30, 2009

Three Men and a Baby (3 Men and a Baby) - PG I hadn't seen this movie in so long! A lot of my nostalgia for this movie is still there but it's still pretty easy to see that this movie is messed up! Mostly it's an excuse to oogle Tom Selleck. While you'd think Ted Danson would be the pretty boy and he's supposedly a 'playboy' in the movie- they make him wear the gayest stuff. I don't know what the hell is going on with Steve Guttenberg during this movie, he's supposedly the sensible womanizer but it all gets pretty muddled. The whole drug subplot is kind of hilarious but not in the way they intended. July 28, 2009

Angels & Demons - PG-13 This movie needed to take itself way less seriously... less Tom Hanks with bags under the eyes and more Nicholas Cage with bad hair. July 27, 2009

Moon - R Sam Rockwell owns the Moon.
That's what I would have named this movie.

I loved the music. I had a hard time with a lot of the sound effects though. They sounded pretty amateur and goofy at points. There were parts of the movie where it felt like it wanted to push a little more or go a little farther and it didn't do that for me. Overall, pretty good film. At least, best one I've seen so far this summer.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - PG Considering I didn't even bother watching the last two movies because they looked so stupid, this movie was pretty great. It seems like the actors finally figured out what they were doing. Alan Rickman is a badass. The girl who plays Lavender Brown is amazing. I love Ginny.

I agree that the scene with Dumbledore wasn't nearly as powerful as it was in the book. The scene afterward got a tear or two out of me though. Mostly because I can't stand seeing Maggie Smith look like she might cry since she's usually such a hardass. There were a few scenes, especially the one with all the fire where I was like "Gandalf?!" but those passed. The costumes were fucking awesome too. Loved it all!

Taken - PG-13 I was disappointed. When I saw it was written by Luc Besson, I was expecting at least one amazing car scene. At the end when he broke into the Audi I was amped, like "finally, we're going to see some real shit happen" and--! nothing. It fell flat.

Although it was pretty fucking core when he straight up shot that woman. Damn Liam, you better calm yourself. Fun movie to see with my dad for our birthdays.
