This is one of my all-time favorites. It centers around the main character Spencer who is in some kind of post-apocalyptic industrial town. This movie can be interpreted many different ways, which is why I like it. It captures some kind of surrealist nightmare. It is very bizarre though so those who like their movies to be perfectly logic and make sense probably won't appreciate this movie. It's one of David Lynch's many masterpieces. I recommend watching this movie very late at night and to welcome the bizarre, and this movie will be one of your favorites too!
Amazing movie, down to every last detail! This movie follows the life of David Gale who is accused of murdering a woman. A reporter visits him in prison to get the story of what happened, and although all the evidence points to him being the murderer, is he really the murderer? This movie proves a very good point (I will not spoil it for you) so I am just going to say there is a mind-blowing conclusion! One of my favorites.
Oh Nekromantik...this film is truly a necrophiliac's dream come true! The graphics are very cheesy but you must love the necro! Dead flesh is really really sexy ;-).
I find movies highlighting the darker nature of humankind to be quite intriguing. The feelings of awe and disgust while watching this film are unrelenting.
A lot of the sequences in this film do seem outdated, but the whole idea of being able to reverse evolution is just so mind-blowing. Most of the film just features a screen with various swirling colors...like fireworks to represent the psychadelic experiences the main character is having. Definitely one of the more "trippy" movies out there. I do not support, however, dropping acid and then watching this film. DRUGS ARE BAAAAAAAD.
Definitely one of my favorite movies...I think it says a lot about life and how we should not let our problems (whether they be mental, emotional, or physical) get in the way of living life to the fullest.
This film is both uplifting and beautiful. A man wrongfully accused is sent to prison to serve a life sentence. However, he doesn't let himself rot in a corner in his prison cell, he becomes very productive. He changes the lives of his fellow prisoners and becomes one of the most unforgettable persons in that prison.
Certain scenes in this movie..are..Wow...very traumatizing. I can't imagine anything much worse than getting your entire face eaten off by someone! Loved this movie. I loved the portrayal of Hannibal. The actor who played Hannibal was very sexy, if I don't say so myself
;-). This movie tells a very tragic one, and we finally learn the history of Hannibal. Overall, this was my third favorite Hannibal movie. Silence of the Lambs was my first, followed by the gruesome Hannibal, and then Hannibal Rising, and lastly Red Dragon. Not sure why I list Red Dragon as my least favorite, maybe I should watch it again and get a final analysis of that...
I am definitely adding this to my list of favorites! Never a dull moment...and John Cusack (one of my favorite actors) was just brilliant in this movie! It is one of those thought-provoking movies that will just stay in your mind for days to come. I absolutely loved it! I needed a good horror/thriller movie after seeing that terrible excuse for a movie "Disturbia"! John Cusack deserves an Academy Award for this film..haha..maybe I am just exaggerating a bit..
First off, I would like you to know I am not exactly a die-hard fan of Batman. When I went to see a movie (forget which one) I saw a 5 minute or so teaser of the beginning of The Dark Knight. It completely caught my interest, and I HAD to see it. But, it wouldn't be out for several months. Nolan delivers us a very dark and brooding version of Batman. It is action-packed and also very thought-provoking. Heath Ledger gives an unbelievable performance of the Joker which breathes new life into the character (Sorry Mr. Nicholson you have been outplayed!) I was just stunned by Ledger's performance of the Joker as it wouldn't seem like his normal line of work. He really showed his amazing acting skills which I already knew he had. I went to the midnight premiere of the movie and the theater was ABSOLUTELY jam-packed. Wall-to-wall people. It took forever to find a seat. My boyfriend and I had to sit apart actually. But once the movie started, I didn't care who I was sitting by it was extremely engaging. They honestly don't make action movies like this anymore. It actually had SUBSTANCE as opposed to brainless knock-em-out, shoot-em-up films. The Dark Knight was actually very stylish. Although, I can't stand Bale's "Batman" voice he delivered another great performance that outdoes his performance in Batman Begins. There is only one actress who I can't really commend, and that is Maggie Gyllenhaal...I am not sure if it's just the character of Rachel being innately annoying, but you were glad when she, well...YOU'LL HAVE TO WATCH AND FIND OUT! I am hoping there will be a third one that can compare to this one or could possibly be better! This film receives my highest praise! Well done Nolan!
A deeply moving film with lots of dark humor. This is one of those extremely rare films that just grips you so tightly. The dialogue leaves me in awe everytime I watch it. All of the acting is spot-on.
Some quotes (Because I adore them!):
Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in.
guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday.
Now that I check back on my ratings, I listed this one as "not interested!" What was I thinking?! This was one of the best comedies I have seen in a while! It doesn't tread on boring old overused plot lines, and there are so many hilarious scenes! I am so glad I watched this movie! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO WATCH A GREAT COMEDY!!
This movie was absolutely breathtaking. I became so engrossed in this film that I just felt like I was in another world... It's sort of a thought-provoking movie as well. Tearjerker ending.
I love ATHF, and I loved this movie! It wasn't as funny as I was expecting it to be, but it still gave me a few good laughs. This movie is as random as all the tv episodes, and it brings back all your favorite characters! We finally get to learn the origins of the Aqua teens, well sort of....Anyway, worth watching if you like the tv series on Adult Swim! And if you haven't been acquainted with the Aqua Teens before hand, um, you probably won't understand this movie...
