Friday the 13th

Marcus Nispel scores again with another remake of a cult/horror film.This remake is my favorite slasher film.Nispel camera work at times is stunning.Is such a well made film with great score,editing,death scenes & some outstanding effects.Only thing that could've been done,is to go back a little,just to show Jason story as a kid,but it was a fast pace film & straight to the point.I can see the approach for this new version,just having Jason taking care of business.It was brutal in Crystal Lake.Best one of the Friday the 13th saga.Brutal!!!

Alien Raiders

Alien Raiders starts with action & shoot outs,but then it takes too much time to show any aliens or creatures.The creature effects takes place in the dark,it was difficult to see what was going on,besides off screen death scenes.After reading few positive reviews for this film,i was expecting a very gory & entertaining film,but that wasn't the case.Nothing spectacular or original about this film.

Twilight

Too much hype for this film,perhaps because is based on a popular book.Twilight felt like a episode of a modern vampire tv show.Is a boring romantic tale between a vampire & a teenage girl.Not the best vampire story ever told,just not enough bites or hardly any action.Didn't like the plot,concept & found most of the characters not that interesting.

Quarantine

Very good movie, non stop suspense, similar to 28 days later, a must see movie if you are a horror fan.

JCVD (Van Dammage)

Van Damme playing Van Damme and laughing at himself, his movies and us. A must-see.

Book of Blood

The film starts with a good opening & graphic scene,it has a nice tone,with a dark atmosphere.Some of the supernatural elements were interesting,but the film doesn't make any sense & it goes at a slow pace.For a film based on a Clive Barker story,it wasn't that gory or very bloody.

Trick 'r Treat

Quite a buzz surrounding this film.I don't understand why the film never received the theatrical release it deserves.Trick R' Treat is beautifuly shot,with great set pieces & full of surprises.This bloody anthology was presented in a unique way,all the four stories blended together.This is the perfect flick for Halloween...lots of fun!

Splinter is a unique horror film about a creature that suppose to be a parasite that absorbs the corpses of its victims.The film manages to deliver some good effects,performances & moments of gore.

I found this remake of [REC] more effective with the the gore & some of the intense scenes.Did like the performances by Jennifer Carpenter,Jay Hernandez & few others.My problem with this film isn't a surprise,shaky camera at times.Basically the film doesn't change that much from the original,but i enjoy this remake better with the exception that i prefer the twist of the original tours the end of the film that was changed.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D

Not much of a good story & didn't care how things turn out tours the end,but besides that,everything else works.From start to finish,this film delivers non stop bloody action,gore,big body count,awesome death kills & great score.Way better than the original.I didn't get around to see this on 3D,otherwise i probably would've gave this a higher rating.
