Not THE best Danny Boyle in my opinion but definitely very accessible for a mainstream crowd due to its happy ending. I'm glad Danny finally won an Oscar. I loved the cinematography and the music.
While it is based on one of my favorite Korean movies, I thought this film stood pretty well on its own. I found myself liking the movie more than I thought I would after the twist ending.
What a very sad, depressing opening. I like that they created a cemetary for animals but the kid was also killing animals just to bury them. Worth it to view the alternate opening and ending.
Good movie but had potential to be greater. There were some decent scenes. I especially liked his drugged out interview. It's hard to watch this movie and try to think of Ben Stiller in a more "serious" role since we're so used to his slapstick comedies.
Entertaining for the first hour or so, by the end I couldn't wait for it to be over. I enjoyed all the cameos and the Kinks music. Simon Pegg was great as Angel. The first time I tried to watch it I was so turned off by it but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's fun... for a while.
Watching the trailer, this movie had "RENT" written all over it. That's what I did eventually but this movie turned out to be a pleasantly mature and funny comedy. It isn't saturated with fluff and ends in a subtle way that I love.
This movie was slammed by critics but I thought it was classic Stephen Chow and unbearably cute! I loved this movie, I would watch it again! I do agree that the story is pretty cliche/predictable, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.
Not bad, Rachel Weisz was a surprise. Giamatti was great, Spacey and long improv style ranting Vince Vaughn were all to be expected. Maybe the running time of almost 2 hours was too much for a comedy.
A very good family movie. Zach Mills is adorable, loved him in Mr. Magorium's. I also loved Stanley Tucci, Jane Krakowski, and Joan Cusack. I felt that it was odd to cast Chris O'Donnell opposite the wonderful Julia Ormond, but he did the job well.
A shitty "After Hours" for the MySpace hipster generation. It should be a CRIME to put skinny jeans on a guy... Michael Cera, I weep for you. An unlikable movie.
Maybe if I had seen this in 3D IMAX or some other grand diversion, maybe I would've enjoyed it more? I wasn't impressed with the graphics either. Maybe it was only meant for 3D viewing. It was very 8 years ago even though it was only last year.
I think I was expecting something scores more dramatic but this is a solid Triad film. Louis Koo is so handsome, I'm glad he was in this and that he's still working.
It's pretty ridiculous but caters well to the conspiracy theory crowd. That unnecessarily long ass fight between Keith David and Roddy Piper was ridiculous. What a great ending, though.
