Slumdog Millionaire - R Not THE best Danny Boyle in my opinion but definitely very accessible for a mainstream crowd due to its happy ending. I'm glad Danny finally won an Oscar. I loved the cinematography and the music. April 26, 2009

Marley & Me - PG Very good adaptation of the book. I liked Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston as the leads and the movie definitely delivered in bringing on the tears. April 26, 2009

The Uninvited - PG-13 While it is based on one of my favorite Korean movies, I thought this film stood pretty well on its own. I found myself liking the movie more than I thought I would after the twist ending. April 26, 2009

Wanted - R Liked it more than I thought I would. Enjoyable action flick. April 26, 2009

Jeux Interdits (Forbidden Games) - Unrated What a very sad, depressing opening. I like that they created a cemetary for animals but the kid was also killing animals just to bury them. Worth it to view the alternate opening and ending. April 26, 2009

Dumb and Dumber - PG-13 March 26, 2009

Venus Beauty Institute - R Enjoyable film! Loved Sam Le Bihan! The scenes at the spa were really good. I laughed at that exhibitionist who kept walking around naked. March 19, 2009

God Is Great, and I'm Not (Dieu est grand, je suis toute petite) - Unrated Didn't like this but at least I learned a few things about Jewish religion? March 19, 2009

Permanent Midnight - R Good movie but had potential to be greater. There were some decent scenes. I especially liked his drugged out interview. It's hard to watch this movie and try to think of Ben Stiller in a more "serious" role since we're so used to his slapstick comedies. March 19, 2009

Hot Fuzz - R Entertaining for the first hour or so, by the end I couldn't wait for it to be over. I enjoyed all the cameos and the Kinks music. Simon Pegg was great as Angel. The first time I tried to watch it I was so turned off by it but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It's fun... for a while. March 19, 2009

Outfoxed - Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism - Unrated I guess if I had watched this 4 years ago and cared about Fox News I would've enjoyed this better. February 26, 2009

Ghost Town - PG-13 Watching the trailer, this movie had "RENT" written all over it. That's what I did eventually but this movie turned out to be a pleasantly mature and funny comedy. It isn't saturated with fluff and ends in a subtle way that I love. February 26, 2009

Vera Drake - R Poor Vera. She has good intentions and is a sweetheart. Loved the final shot. February 26, 2009

Cheung Gong 7 hou (CJ7) (Long River 7) - PG This movie was slammed by critics but I thought it was classic Stephen Chow and unbearably cute! I loved this movie, I would watch it again! I do agree that the story is pretty cliche/predictable, but that doesn't make it a bad movie. February 26, 2009

Domicile Conjugal (Bed & Board) - PG The Japanese woman speaking French and Japanese was pretty awesome. I -hated- Doinel's hair in this movie. February 26, 2009

Who's That Knocking at My Door? - R I didn't expect this type of filmmaking from Scorsese. Reminded me of French New Wave. February 22, 2009

Alphaville - Unrated I'm not into these scifi Blade Runner type movies but I appreciate the artistry. February 22, 2009

Fred Claus - PG Not bad, Rachel Weisz was a surprise. Giamatti was great, Spacey and long improv style ranting Vince Vaughn were all to be expected. Maybe the running time of almost 2 hours was too much for a comedy. February 22, 2009

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery - G A very good family movie. Zach Mills is adorable, loved him in Mr. Magorium's. I also loved Stanley Tucci, Jane Krakowski, and Joan Cusack. I felt that it was odd to cast Chris O'Donnell opposite the wonderful Julia Ormond, but he did the job well. February 15, 2009

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - PG-13 A shitty "After Hours" for the MySpace hipster generation. It should be a CRIME to put skinny jeans on a guy... Michael Cera, I weep for you. An unlikable movie. February 15, 2009

Death Race - R It's a fast, fun movie. Exactly what I expected. February 15, 2009

Journey to the Center of the Earth (Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D) - PG Maybe if I had seen this in 3D IMAX or some other grand diversion, maybe I would've enjoyed it more? I wasn't impressed with the graphics either. Maybe it was only meant for 3D viewing. It was very 8 years ago even though it was only last year. February 15, 2009

Triad Election (Hak se wui yi wo wai kwai) - Unrated I think I was expecting something scores more dramatic but this is a solid Triad film. Louis Koo is so handsome, I'm glad he was in this and that he's still working. February 15, 2009

The Nines - R An interesting story, maybe would've been better if Ryan Reynolds wasn't the lead? February 15, 2009

They Live - R It's pretty ridiculous but caters well to the conspiracy theory crowd. That unnecessarily long ass fight between Keith David and Roddy Piper was ridiculous. What a great ending, though. February 6, 2009
