I really wanted to like this. I liked the movies and I love the cartoon and comic strip. However, this movie fell flat horribly. I liked the way they looked, but it was something in the animation and the way they moved that really bothered me. Especially since the reactions are one of the main components of the humor. Kids unaware of the history of Garfield would enjoy this more than actual fans.
I had a kickass time watching this. I wasn't so confident in the beginning, but Izeya's role in this film was impressive and won me over. I also love the costume and set design. I don't know why they went for English, I think it would've been fine in Japanese.
Didn't like it as much as the first film, but it's nice to see Edmund growing up nicely ;) I liked Prince Caspian a lot. The battle scenes were lacking to me, I didn't feel much excitement in the movie. I also still dislike the Pevensie girls.
A short but fun doc where men of a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles are interviewed about their penis and sexual experiences. Yes, there is penis, of all shapes and sizes.
The movie has good intentions but is rather on the dull side. There are interviews with fascinating people, some who have unfortunately already passed on (RIP). I think Ian Mckaye and Richard Kern have good amounts of screen time.
A good family film, but the lead's performance is soooo flat! She's irritatingly dull! With the exception of the red haired boy and the aunt, the characters were for the most part unlikable. I liked the story, even if the song (see title) falls flat in the end.
Cheesy 80s movie but really cool to see lower east side in the 80s as well as bands like DNA and The Plastics. Debbie Harry and Fab 5 Freddy also have fun cameos.
Artistically, I get why people love this. I just wasn't affected by it, and I really wanted to be because the Manson murders are fascinating in a morbid, horrifying way. I get more emotion just reading the wikipedia entry. The numerous orgy scenes... wtf?
Fast and the Furious style movie about mixed martial arts. Ridiculous, hilarious, annoying. Enjoyable to the targeted audience, I'm sure. Chris Faris is pretty cute, though.
It starts off very boring and uninteresting, but as you learn more about the goths I think you start to grow to like the movie. Especially when later the music is "music box" versions of The Cure's Just Like Heaven and Siouxsie & the Banshees' Spellbound. In the end, I loved the goths and I really liked this doc.
I really liked this doc. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy watching actors read journals from Nanking, but it being interspersed with interview footage of the Chinese survivors and the war footage, really moving. Loved it.
I really couldn't focus on any symbolism on the movie because I was too busy being weirded out by it. It really doesn't get super weird until the last 40 minutes. I could deal with the pedophilia scenes and the vomiting (Jackass, anyone?). It was just totally weird.
Unfortunately, I saw the "edited" version of this so I don't know if seeing the full version will sway my opinion. I am a fan of Glen Morgan and James Wong from the X-Files but I think maybe it was the acting that turned me off this movie.
Impressive for a debut. I appreciate the gritty look, imperfect editing (you notice the change in splice), the jazz score, and the improvisation (noted at the end of the movie, explains the "natural", disjointed acting).
