Sleeper - PG Pretty funny. Liked the first half a lot. The movie died for me later on. Lots of Benny Hill type of sequences. November 30, 2008

Pickpocket - Unrated I mostly liked it as a study on the art of classic pickpocketing. November 30, 2008

Get Smart - PG-13 Fun and enjoyable. Great cast/cameos. November 30, 2008

Mac and Me - PG Terrible! November 27, 2008

Persepolis - PG-13 Very good film. Sad at times, funny at times. November 21, 2008

Storytelling - R I liked Paul Giamatti, Mark Webber, and John Goodman. It was also cute seeing Mike Shank from American Movie. Also cool that Belle and Sebastian did the music. November 6, 2008

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - R Not as great as I expected, but those who like dramadies may like it a lot. A good examination in relationships. I think this movie may be notorious for some pen0r. November 6, 2008

Tokyo Story (Tôkyô monogatari) - Unrated Heart wrenching, emotional film. I didn't expect it to be so sad, although I think the Criterion cover should've clued me in. The part that affected me the most was when Mother tells Isamu that she wonders if she will be around to see him become a doctor. Nice to see more trains in this film. November 3, 2008

The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde inseglet) - Unrated October 21, 2008

Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium - G Charming at times, and times just downright lame. It's visually impressive, I liked a lot of shots. Use of CGI was well done. Overall, it's a good watch for kids. Natalie Portman was lovely and lovable and Jason Bateman is always a pleasure. Dustin Hoffman is unbearable but you'll get over him. Portman will distract you ;) October 18, 2008

Paranoid Park - R I hated Gus Van Sant, but now... I'm not so sure. The music and the Chris Doyle cinematography also helped this movie. Wow. October 17, 2008

Urban Legends: Final Cut - R It's your typical garbage but it kept me entertained until the Phillies game. LOL at the end, too. October 12, 2008

Fong Shi Yu II: Wan fu mo di (The Legend 2)(The Legend II) - R October 12, 2008

Speed Racer - PG This really needs to be experienced in a large IMAX theater or a nice home theater setup. I missed it in theaters so I have to settle for DVD. It's visually terrific and there's so much action. However, I still felt that the movie was too long. But it's not a terrible movie. This would be useful if you're looking to distract a group of kids while babysitting. October 11, 2008

Lilya 4-Ever (Lilja 4-ever) - R October 5, 2008

Crank - R It's fun but I didn't have super fun watching it. I think I was just not in the mood. Cameo from Chester Bennington from LP? Haha. Read the other reviews, not too bad, just over the top. Some bad CG here and there. October 4, 2008

La Strada (The Road) - PG I liked this better than 8 1/2 as I found it more interesting. I wasn't moved by this story, although the very end was pretty sad. Stars for the technical aspects and for Giulietta Masina, who is as cute as a button. I find Vittorio De Sica's films a whole lot more emotional. October 4, 2008

Premonition - PG-13 I loved it for the tearjerker I found it to be. I love the story but it could've been better, but it's good for the mainstream crowd.... and really, really sad. September 30, 2008

Hard Eight (Sydney) - R Mediocre at best. Great performance by Philip Baker Hall and John C Reilly is lovable as always. September 28, 2008

Miller's Crossing - R People say this is THE best Coens movie but I can't say the same. I know I'm missing something and I'll have to watch this over again. Great performances, however, and an epic scene with Albert Finney. September 28, 2008

Lynch - Unrated It's funny hearing David Lynch swear. He has a cool, nerdy voice. September 22, 2008

The Bank Job - R Mix of political thriller and action movie. Has mostly elements of the hokey action film but is still a very entertaining watch. Statham even gets to kick some ass like he does in all his movies. September 14, 2008

Candy - R An indie film movie about two drug addict lovers. I gave it extra stars for the ending, which I have to admit made me sad. September 14, 2008

Léon (The Professional) - R Great performances all around. Possibly the best Natalie Portman has ever done until My Blueberry Nights. September 14, 2008
